The Vernon Hills 8 theater is kind of old school, and hasnt been updated in what looks like a little while (to be fair its not that bad). Im very used to stadium seating, and the works thats available at the AMC South Barrington 30 location. With that in mind, slightly outdated theater, the picture quality wasnt good. I told a crew member that the picture was a little blurry. He was apologetic and followed me back to the theater to check on the picture. I went back to my seat assuming hed figure it out, but nothing changed. To be clear that picture wasnt terrible. Some shots, face close-ups, looked fine while others, panoramic views of the city, looked quite blurry (we were watching Spider-Man Homecoming). It wasnt so bad that we left wanting a refund, but it definitely didnt leave us with a great experience and were certainly not likely to return to that location anytime soon. Also, the audio quality wasnt really up to par either for most theaters these days. I have a sound bar surround sound system at home, and I think that would have been slightly better quality. I wouldnt really recommend this theater, especially considering proximity and how much better the Hawthorn 12 AMC is compared to this one.

This place is a little out of my way, but if a movie is showing there, I prefer to see them in this theater. The ticket price is better than the bigger theaters. The seating is in the old style sloped style rather than stadium seating that a lot of theaters have, so if you are shorter or are bringing kids, this could be an issue. Its a simple theater that seems to do things right.

I love going to AMC Showplace Vernon Hills 8. They have provided excellent service with a great cost for a movie. On an average day one can watch a movie for half the price of the the bigger theaters and in all spend less than $12.00 for a wonderful time watching your favorite movies.

Pretty nice theater, usually not too crowded, as there is a super-fancy new theater at the mall pretty much across the street. It is reasonably clean and well run. Smaller screens, but for those who dont care (like me) good value.

Awful theater. The only good thing about them are the prices. Seats are uncomfortable and staggered on a flat surface vs incline. Theater lacks any WOW factors. Only see it working for those wishing to save money.

Its a fairly small theater kind of off the beaten path so its never too crowded. The seats are comfortable and the food is good. Ive been to first showings on a weekend afternoon and always, found a good seat.
