Large lobby with the awesome coco-cola machines, Pays for half your parking, and amazing red soft seats! What isnt to love about this theater? If you out and about on a date or just relaxing with a couple of Friends you get the perks of a gorgeous Simon Mall and the perks of a AMC experience. It is typically a tad more expensive compared to Regal(Students get a discount on Thursdays!) ,but worth every penny! Click more to see my in-depth review! Location: Simon mall has a well known reputation for making the most gorgeous malls ever, The Falls is a prime expampe. With Sunset you get a more City Broadway feel with the street that passes threw and all the niche places to shop and eat. Perfect for that movie date. Setting: Huge lobby with awesome galaxy carpet that is straight out of the 70s. However despite how old it might be it still seems to be kept extremely well and regularly cleaned by staff. AMC also provides the amazing Coco-cola machines that have different flavors for every soda. With that said the theater is actually very big, with actually two concession stands, however I only seen the main lobby one be used. Crowd: People seem to typically be nice and keep quite ,but its always a hit or miss. Like everywhere else you never know who is going to be with you watching the movie. I have mostly seen family come in large groups of 5ish. However I havent had a problem with the type of people this mall draws in. Comfortably: With the amazing galaxy carpet and its extremely fluffy red velvet movie chairs. Comfortably is amazing. The whole theater is just so welcoming and appealing. The Bathrooms are nice and well kept, also the theater it self is always clean. I would only say that I wish the seats where bigger ,but isnt really a problem. Am currently having a problem where I am uncertain which theater is my favorite ,from The Falls or this one. I will say that this theater is perfect for a date night or a night spent with friends. If your a college student come Thursday and brig your ID! Also dont forget to stamp your parking ticket to get a nice chunk taken off.

Nice movie theater in the heart of South Miami! It was the movie theater of my choice until recently. Lately, I have noticed, it is quiet impossible to relax in that theater. There are lots of people talking and texting on the phones, or talking with others in a loud voice. I went to see "Beauty and the Beast recently. There was a woman with a couple of kids sitting in front of me who used her phone to video tape the movie in its entirety. On several times, I nicely asked her to please put the phone down since the light of the big screen of her phone was reflecting on my eyes, and she completely ignored my request. I had to spend the entire movie with the light of her phone hitting my eyes. I could not move to another seat because the theater was full. I was going to call the manager but did not do it out of respect for her two kids. Also, people place their feet on the back on the chair in front of them, and you feel the feet kicking your back! Unfortunately, it seems there are lots of people with no manners in Miami lately!!! And, it is affecting a time of enjoyment even in the movie theater!!!!

Unacceptable projection and management knows it! I went to see Girl With A Dragon Tattoo the other day in theater 23. The DLP system was just awful. I walked out after the first shot of the film. The corners of the image were washed out and the color in the center of the screen was way off. I returned today to see Tintin in Real3D (theater 10), in hopes that my previous experience was just an isolated incident, but no. The whole image was washed out and whats worse -- intermittent flicker throughout the length of the picture. I was immediately pulled out of the experience and demanded my money back. Its my guess that management at this poorly run establishment has not invested the time and money in the routine maintenance of their digital projection systems. This is completely unacceptable in general, and given the high cost of movie tickets these days, I will no longer be attending this multiplex and sincerely recommend that you take your business elsewhere. Their only real responsiblility as a venue is to ensure picture quality. Thats the bare minimum. AMC cant even guarantee that. Good luck...

There are other theaters just as good in Miami. Here are my complaints. I bought the tickets online, and instead of getting a printout of the tickets so I could skip the line at the ticket booth, I had to present my credit card to the cashier to get my tickets. Other theaters let me get printouts of tickets, why not these idiots! Also, I saw Avatar 3D - why did it take them so long to bring over the 3D glasses. Furthermore, why dont they have people inside organizing the seating so when a theater is packed they make people scoot over so more people can sit in groups. My other complaint is about the mall itself: It doesnt have its own parking lot! We parked in the Whole Foods lot! Its not obvious how to walk to the theater either - though you can just ask. Some may say, get over it, its Miami, but at Dolphin Mall, you dont have these problems, and at Adventura Mall who also has an IMAX theater you dont have these problems. If you want to go hang out in Sunset because its a nice area - thats good - it is a nice area, but Malls should have obvious parking lots!

I like this theatre. It is my favorite theatre. The staff that operates this theatre, especially Gigi are fantastic. I do not like all the changes that occur everytime you visit. In the beginning AMC had the best reward system - THE MOVIEWATCHER CARD was the best in the business and then they changed everything and went to a card called STUBS. The moviewatcher card was free, the STUBS card cost $12.00US. Since a corporation called WANDA took over (this is a chinese company by the way) the greatest changes have occured. The change for this week is no movie starts before 4PM. I had planned to take advantage of the stubs holder discount day (Tuesday) but because of the start times of the movies I cannot attend. I must go to a different movie theatre (COBB) at the Dolphin Mall. And guess what they have, a reward card that is set up exactly like the old AMC MOVIEWATCHER CARD. Wanda had better rethink their entire motus operandi. Movie watchers are not stupid, we know when we are being taken.

Horrible, horrible gestapo theater staff Annie and Gigi. I showed up with a ticket I bought online paid for. Gigi harassed me. They made me go down two flights of stairs to so that my ticket could be downloaded. I came back with a confirmed authorization. I went to enter the theater but Annie had to have more fun. She confiscated my ticket and my cellphone. I got my cellphone back. I left but when I got to the car I didnt have my keys. I went back to get them. Annie was holding them the entire time. It was only after I called the police that they gave me the tickets. When the south Miami police showed up they did not want to hear about how I had purchased a ticket and was not allowed in the theater. They issued me a trespass warning for all of Sunset place. I do not need to ever go to an AMC theater again nor shop at Sunset place as the stores there are really crappy. I can happily spend my money else where. I am disabled. I can sue them for discrimination.
