There is a certain charm in the small town movie theater, especially one as storied as the Plaza. It was split many years ago into two screens by dividing the length and then adding two more smaller screening rooms in the far back. They are all approximately in size what you find in a normal multiplex nowadays (but without the novelty stadium seating). The main theater has exorbitantly comfy seats. The sound and projection quality is just fine (having switched to digital a few years back) -- perhaps not as good as a chain operations super-tech set ups but thats fine. The prices are slightly below the current standard; on premiere nights there is an extra charge but on a normal Saturday night the rate is a few dollars less than the chain and there is no worries of not getting a seat. The lobby offerings are standard popcorn, candy and soda but there is also alcohol and the more challenging items like sliders. On certain nights, there is a full catering menu from a nearby restaurant offered and the main theaters have tables on the back rows. *On certain Friday nights, the main feature here is the Wisconsin fish fry. Parking is available in a back lot as well as across the street and on the street. The Plaza occasionally has special features or parties, including a "drive-in" feature once during the summer where a classic movie is shown on a giant screen and your car speakers become the audio.

My husband and I recently moved to the area from Waukesha Co. and have been to a few shows at the Plaza. Last week, we went to see Unbroken and were surprised to see a delightful Emcee introduce the movie and talk about the theatre. That was such a great welcome! We returned with a group of campers from the area to watch the Packer playoff game. The theatre staff was so accommodating, delivering pizzas, setting up chairs in the aisles, sweeping up messes, and generally being as professional as it gets. Cudos to the guy in the concession stand...all I did was walk by and he offered to refill my popcorn! How great is that. By the way, all popcorn and soda refills are free. One of the young ushers took a group photo shot of our group. Thank you! The seats were as comfy as can be, the sound terrific. If you want to experience small town theatre at its best, go to the Plaza. After posting this, I read other reviews..some saying the popcorn wasnt up to snuff. It IS theatre popcorn, it is made on site (not brought in in bags and dumped under the lights), and should be rated accordingly. I am a popcorn snob and thought this was above average under the circumstances. Was mine better at home, popped in an unseasoned pan with gobs of real butter? Absolutely, but the popcorn at the Plaza was hot, freshly popped and served with a smile. In my eyes, it doesnt get any better for a theatre!

The heart they put into this experience shows...like a blockbuster! There are personal touches to movie premieres that are GO that extra piece to make the movie experience engaging as well as memorable! Add fish fry Fridays, Green Bay Packer game viewing, wine tasting, pizza night to charming staff introductions, special guests Q&A and fun menu concepts. I couldnt tell you how wonderful this small town theater is to visit...I can tell you I look forward to going every time Im in town to see what they are going to do next! Ive learned a lot about guest experience, customer relations, hospitality here and that I take home with me to share. Great new screens, wonderful people, two thumbs up!

I love quality of the screen, its incredible particularly in a theater that size. The sound is also always perfect, not blaring and not muffled. The seats are awesome and since the theater is small enough you can take those rear seats that have a table! So you can order some food and eat it comfortably. The staff has always, always been as accommodating as possible, which says a LOT since its usually young people (the staff at Showtime and The Ridge are just plain rude and slow) This is my favorite theater and you dont even have to fight crowds or drive in circles looking for parking!

I grew up going to the movies here in the 1970s. Its still a cozy bit of yesteryear, with modern amenities and a full menu. The theater has great sound and picture and comfy seating with cup holders. You can, of course, get your traditional popcorn, candy, and soda (with free refills on the popcorn and soda!) at the concessions stand. Or, you can get a meal complete with a tasty adult beverage. In addition to showing all the current movies, they also Packers games on Sundays! This theater will always be my favorite!

Older theater. New seating very nice seats. The movie quality was also without issue. It was the last show of the night we went to and the floor was filled with trash however the staff swept a row out for us after requesting. The staff was nice. $8 for adults and we did see a Groupon that got you free popcorn with a few restrictions. Would go back wish it was a bit cleaner, maybe an isolated problem. At the 9:20 show our group was the only people in the theater. Not very crowded at all!

The popcorn is cold & butter just tastes greasy. The biggest problem is the teenagers on cell phones during the movie. Talking & playing video games, during the movie is very annoying to others. They need to put a ban on this. I thought going to a movie during the school day, it would just be adults. Management let then in anyway, never asked why they werent in school. I do compliment them on their seats, very comfortable & ample leg room.

Love it every time!! Eva should stay home and watch a movie in her living room or pay for a private show. Apparently she thinks she should have the place to herself for their very reasonable ticket prices. Seats are awesome and the staff is great!! Maybe the popcorn isnt always fresh but Ill take it over any other theater in the area! A huge plus to our community!!!

Great Theater and it is locally owned. I have spoken with the owner and he is very Nice. When I first starting going there in 2004 (I moved to Burlington that year) it had old seats, bad screens and questionable sound system. In the time that has passed the seats, screens and sound/visual system have been replaced. Now it is AWESOME to go to the PLAZA!!!

We love the Plaza Theatre! There has been a lot of love, time, money, and hard work put forth to resurrect this little gem in the city of Burlington. And many of us really appreciate it.The treats, the seats, and the great upkeep make the Plaza Theatre a special place. Thank you for providing our community with such a treasure.

This is by FAR the best theatre around the area! The seats are plush leather reclining seats and the movie and screen quality is the newest technology as explained by the owner (boy can you tell the difference watching the movie). The staff is extremely friendly and helpful and they even bring food to your seat!
