I took my family to see a movie at AMC Classics 16 last night. As the trailers/advertisements started, the lights overhead dimmed. However, when the movie started the overhead lights remained on. They were dim but shined a spotlight down on us. Throughout the movie, no usher ever came into the theater to check as they do at other cinemas. After some time had passed, I went out to quickly search for an employee. I could find no one. Again when the movie was over, I searched the large building looking for someone, anyone that worked there. I knocked on 2 different employee doors in the lobby. Nothing. I walked behind counters and peeked in kitchen work areas. Silence. I went back to the hallway full of theater doors and called hello three times. No one. I spent maybe 5 minutes looking around and then standing there perplexed until my family requested we leave. Personally I think the owner of this theater should count themselves lucky that there was no great emergency. I called what was previously known as Wynnsong just a moment ago and spoke with a manager. He was polite but expressed disbelief that the lights overhead were left on. He said by law some lights must remain on. But in 48 years of coming to movies, I think I know what I am talking about. He said he would speak to the manager who was on duty last night....and thats that. I wasnt offered a free ticket having had Alien Covenant somewhat spoiled by a dim spotlight overhead. He offered no follow up call to let me know why there wasnt a single solitary employee available at least in case of emergency. Where was the manager? I can spend my money elsewhere. There are theaters all over Knoxville! Somewhere that cares about customer safety and satisfaction.

Used to be my favorite theater. AMC bought out Carmike, and two changes theyve made result in my low rating. - Medium popcorn bag size was removed. Now theres only the choice of a laughably tiny Small size bag thats inexplicably both more expensive and smaller than the former Small size bag, and a Large size bag thats too much for one person to eat. So, basically, AMC is telling us to either get a Large and share it, or go screw ourselves. Theyve deliberately priced and sized the new Small size bag to effectively punish people for getting it, and removed the Medium to take away any other option than the max-price Large. This is the opposite of pursuing customer satisfaction. Its asinine and insulting, and has only guaranteed that I wont buy popcorn from AMC theaters. - AMC has removed any mid-day and night showings from this theater specifically on Tuesdays, evidently to passive-aggressively discourage people from taking advantage of the Stimulus Tuesday discounts on tickets and concessions Carmike featured, and which apparently AMC is only grudgingly continuing. Again: asinine in the extreme. Especially since one already has to be an AMC Club member to even get the discount now (under Carmike, the discount had no such requirement). AMC is basically giving the finger to long time patrons of this theater, and not even trying to be subtle about it. Who taught these clowns business practice? I miss you, Carmike Cinemas. AMC is hard at work ruining what they bought. The only reason Im making my rating a 2 instead of a 1-star is because I feel bad for the employees, whom I know have nothing to do with these changes.

Movie was not shown in the correct format, instead it was zoomed in resulting in the edges of the picture being cut off. I brought this to the attention of management several times throughout the movie yet they never bothered to fix the issue. Once the movie was over I talked to the manager who played dumb as if I hadnt complained to him before and during the movie about the problem. All he did was offer me a free movie (which I turned down) and his apologies as if this was the first hes heard if it. If Im going to pay to watch a movie at a movie theater I expect movie theater quality not crummy picture quality and ever crappier management. I will not be returning to this theater or any AMC theaters if this is truly how they conduct themselves.

Dirty! Since changing from Carmike to AMC it looks as if the place is going out of business. They have the pick your own flavors of soda machine in lobby. One only had diet and the other ran out of regular Coke. The auditorium its self had a nasty smell to it probably from the old popcorn that littered the floor. The top right hand side of the screen has something smeared on it that became very noticeable during bright scenes. This us in auditorium 4 by the way. All in all there is no reason for me to return to this theatre. I have a much better movie experience in my own home. I just wait to catch it on Netflix

My family and I love to come here to see movies! The employees are always friendly and helpful. The super matinee is the best! You can see a movie from 4:00-5:30 for only $5.75. This summer theyre offering movies all day Tuesday for $5 and popcorn and drinks for $2 each. The theater isnt ever too crowded, either. Its our favorite in Knoxville!

Came for the "bargain" matinee and its $8 so no bargain. Popcorn is cold and they have no butter. Its 2pm in the aftrnoon and the parking lot is full so how can this be? Should have went to Tinsel Town in Oak Ridge where a bargain matinee is really a bargain.

Not crowded. Tucked away, so there is not so much traffic to deal with. Clean. Helpful staff. MILKSHAKES & MALTS to go with popcorn. If it will take staff more then a few minutes to make shake/malt: it is brought to you in theater. Been going here for years!

Years ago, I took my child to see Alice in Wonderland. What came on was a rated R movie with a young man masterbating to a magazine in the opening scene. This theater is clean and well-kept but it has issues.

My neighborhood backs up to the big theatre in town; however my favorite is Wynnsong. Ten more minutes of driving is worth the friendly helpful staff and the cleanliness with room to breathe!

Reasonably priced compared to the other theaters in the area but most of the screens are teeny tiny. Staff is pleasant and the theater is clean, but not much can overcome the outdated tech.

Theater was hot and smelled like an old basement. The picture was blurry. Hard to watch. Seemed out dated. I would gladly paid a little more for better quality.

Easily on of my favorite movie theaters! Not as nice as some of the other theaters in Knoxville such as the Pinnacle and the Riveria, but always less busy.

Its pretty quiet usually, which can be really nice. Lower prices for movie tickets, and food isnt too overpriced either.
