I went to Movie Tavern Monday night because I wanted to experience the "dining with great food at a movie" concept after growing tired of the standard theater lousy movie popcorn, and I was excited about seeing the movie "The Hitmans Bodyguard". Everything was going fine , the movie was one of the best i have seen in a while while I was watching it, and then right as the movie was reaching what appeared to be a tremendous climax, the screen went completely black while the sound kept going. The projectionist on duty couldnt fix the movie so after driving 25 miles one way to this place and spending almost $30 on the ticket and food, I was sent home unfulfilled with an unfinished movie. I dont have very many nights free to just go and see movies, so to have this night taken from me without a finished movie made for a completely lost, wasted and upsetting evening after a hard day and nights work. Before leaving, I asked the projectionist if the movie would be fixed and working on Wednesday night and he promised that it would. So I went back on Wednesday night to see this movie and was told that the movie was not showing that night. I told the manager on duty how I was treated the Monday night prior and that I had come back to see this movie that I had been promised would be fixed and running, and I was told that they would not show the movie. I was told that 48 hours later the projector in that room had not been repaired because they contract to a third party company who refused to send a technician to fix their problem. I was also told that they would not under any circumstance show me the Hitmans Bodyguard that night, even though it was a slow night and there doubtless would have been at least one room that would have no customers for a planned movie showing. The manager tried to talk me into watching another movie, this was not acceptable because there werent any other movies there that would have been worth watching and I didnt go there for any of those bad movies, I went there for Hitmans Bodyguard. So I now have had two evenings and two 50 mile round trips wasted and taken away by this place and their horrible customer service. This establishment sells/advertises a premium experience and charges you for a premium experience, yet they care so little about their customers that they accept doing business with a projection company who refuses to fix a projector in a 48 hour period, and will not make allowances to fulfill their promise to show a movie to a paying customer. This is unacceptable and should be unacceptable to the management of Movie Tavern-this projection company should be fired and replaced immediately. If the management of Movie Tavern finds this "third party company" and these horrible customer service practices acceptable, then they should be fired and replaced immediately. This establishment lied to me and ruined two evenings of my life when all I wanted was to go enjoy a movie in their place and experience their premium experience. If my writing this persuades anyone to think twice about spending their hard-earned money at this place, then that will be the only way this loss will have been worth anything.

My family and I visit Movie Tavern at least 1 time a month. We have always preferred this over going to a movie anywhere else. The tickets are very comparable, if not cheaper, the seats are far more comfortable and you have plenty of leg room. On average, for our family of 5 to have dinner and a movie here is around $150. Not cheap but when you factor in you are having dinner plus a movie it is about what we would spend (if not a little less) than going to a restaurant and then another theater. The last few times we have been we have left feeling as though we had terrible service or the food quality was not good. Last night is a perfect example. We took our 3 daughters to see "Sing" in 3D. We arrived early to get our food order in. After waiting for roughly 20 minutes our order was taken. Our youngest daughter and I both ordered chicken tenders. Both orders were full or hard crunchy bits as opposed to chicken. We didnt say anything. After we all received our food other than my husband he pressed the button. After waiting 10 minutes the server comes over. He explains he hasnt received his food. She said "Oh yeah. Well it was delivered to another person so they are remaking yours." After another 15 minutes he had his chicken sandwich. The guy who brought it said it would be taken off. Bill came - wasnt taken off. The entire dinner part left us so very frustrated - $80 dinner bill, before tip, and the 2 girls in front of us who ordered a brownie sundae and 2 drinks had wayyyy better service. I just dont understand how the level of customer service has fallen so much so quickly. I am very disappointed. We spent $155 here last night in total. And I feel so cheated. Two of our meals were just gross and my husbands food took forever. If this were the first "disappointment" we had here I would certainly not write a review. I would chalk it up to just a fluke. But this type of "stuff" has been occurring - just not to the extreme it was last night. The movie had maybe a total of 4 other families and the 2 girls in front of us. There is no excuse.

Two weekends ago my bf and I went here and we planned on eating dinner. We ordered the game day platter and my bf asked for the boneless wings. He didnt get boneless wings and we told the waiter that they didnt bring the right food. We waited 20 minutes. We finally got the wings and when it was time to pay they had charged me for the platter and the boneless wings as a separate meal. I let the guy know and he comes back with the right ticket and amount. I paid more than what the ticket was, and I wanted my change back. It took a good 15 minutes for the guy to bring the right ticket. So I said nevermind about the change and left. I let it slide. 2/7/14- Tonight was just ridiculous. The movie experience was great. We usually eat here but tonight we just got water and popcorn. This lady came by with our receipt, and our amount was like $17 with some change added... I paid with a $20 expecting to get my change back. The movie ended and the lady never returned with my change. I asked 3 different people that worked there that this lady didnt return with my change. When she came to me she asked me how much my bill was. Shouldnt she know what receipt she had given me? I told her how much I gave her. She didnt believe me. She got out her iPhone and started subtracting what I had given her. She handed me $2 dollars and said she needed to get me my .70 something change. I said dont worry about it and left. She was really rude and I do not want to visit this theater again knowing that this lady ripped me off. If I had told her, keep the change, it would of been fine and I wouldnt be writing this review. If she came back and asked about the change then that would be okay. But I had to ask 3 different people. Each one of them asked me what her name was. I didnt know because she didnt tell me. If you like getting ripped off then go for it. I will not visit this place again. I hope they start looking into this.
