This used to be the only theater in a decent range for me, but recently two movie theaters have popped up: the IMAX Theatre at Marbles, and the CinéBistro at Waverly Place. I feel that the best way to explain what I think about this establishment would be to compare it to the two theaters it competes against for my business. --The Movie Selection -- This is Regal Crossroads strong point. Both the CinéBistro and Marbles IMAX have a limited selection of movies playing. CinéBistro will only play five or six movies, a few of which are usually older movies that many have already seen. Marbles IMAX will only ever be playing a documentary and a big blockbuster movie. Regal Crossroads has always had all of the movies that have come out around this time. If I had to name any one reason to go to this place over CinéBistro and Marbles IMAX, I would definitely say the movie selection is a huge plus. *Overall Personal preference of theaters for this category alone: 1. Regal Crossroads 20 2. CinéBistro 3. IMAX at Marbles -- The Menu/Concessions -- I am glad to say that at this establishment, you wont be disappointed by the concessions as long as you arent looking to have actual food. The staples like classic movie theater popcorn, candy, sodas, and ICEEs are all present, as well as some "real food" like nachos and hot dogs. However, most of the meal/dinner foods are subpar at best. If you are looking to have lunch or dinner while at the movies, you should go to the CinéBistro. Their menu has a nice variety of items and all of the food is up to restaurant quality. The Marbles IMAX also has most of the movie theater staples, but its more limited than both the CinéBistro and Regal Crossroads 20. As with all movie theaters, most of the revenue of these three establishments comes from there concessions, so all the prices are inflated, but you usually go in expecting that. I should mention that the CinéBistro is going to run you the most money as you are usually ordering a full meal there, but the food quality makes the price at leas tolerable and its one of the trade-offs of going there. *Overall Personal preference of theaters for this category alone: 1. CinéBistro 2. Regal Crossroads 20 3. IMAX at Marbles -- The Theaters Themselves -- As both the CinéBistro and Marbles IMAX opened, Regal Crossroads 20 really began to fall behind in terms of the theater quality. Most of their theaters were outdated and a bit uncomfortable. The CinéBistro was more comfortable and Marbles IMAX had a massive screen and sound system (which is a much larger IMAX screen than Regals), meaning that Regals experience seemed lower quality than either of those two. Recently, though, Regal Crossroads stepped up their game and added recliner seating to most theaters. This has dramatically improved the experience as the recliners are comfortable and well-maintained. However, this has presented a new problem for the theater: it is nearly impossible to get seats for a big movie releases on opening weekend without going to the theater far ahead of time or paying inflated prices on advanced-ticket-purchasing sites. Overall, this hasnt ruined the experience for me, but it has presented a new problem that stopd the new seating from totally redeeming Regal. *Overall Personal preference of theaters for this category alone: 1. CinéBistro 2. IMAX at Marbles 3. Regal Crossroads 20 -- Overall Opinion of This Establishment -- Regal Crossroads is an above average theater, but not exceptional. It has everything I want from a movie experience and I will continue to return. One thing I should mention is that Regal is definitely the cheapest of these three theaters, so thats another point in its favor. For an over all experience, Id probably go to CinéBistro if I was looking to have a nice evening out and Marbles IMAX is I was looking for the best actual movie experience. However, if youre looking for a fun, somewhat cheap, thing to do, definitely check this place out!

Ive visited this theater extensively over the years and never had any problems with the staff, nor have I had any issues with technical things such as the picture or sound. Im writing to share thoughts on the new seats. Quite frankly, they needlessly waste too much of the auditoriums space. The only advantage is that you can elevate your feet. The fact is, however, that the seats are less comfortable than the seats they replaced. Im not a huge fan of assigned seating but at least at a theater like the Raleigh Grande the seats are soft and comfortable, almost too comfortable. If the movie is boring you could easily fall asleep. Also, seats at the Grande have trays attached that pivot, and whatever you sit you are guaranteed at least one armrest to yourself, and you never feel crowed even if you have people on both sides of you. Space is not wasted there. At Crossroads the seats are not much bigger than those they replaced, and all the armrests are common, just like in a traditional stadium-style auditorium. Again the new seats offer nothing except you can elevate your feet, but at the cost of a less comfortable seat. Ive been three times now, and heres what happened each time: Trip 1- I picked my seat for a show that was not crowded, and purposely chose a spot with no one sitting next to it. When I got there someone was sitting next to it with her coat in my seat. I know it wasnt her seat because I went straight to the auditorium, no bathroom or concession visit. She didnt have time to buy her ticket and then beat me there. She apologized and moved over one seat, but I still felt a little like a jerk for saying something and it tugged at the back of my mind during the entire film. Trip 2 - When I picked my seat the person working the box office asked me to choose different one because I picked the middle of three vacant spots. She explained they wanted to keep two together so that if a couple came they could sit together. That is understandable, but it didnt exactly make me feel all warm and fuzzy. It was like I was being singled out for being single (the box office attendant was very friendly btw). Trip 3 - Someone was in my seat. It wasnt crowded and I didnt feel like saying anything and I dont like to complain to management (except to report technical problems, experience has taught me that if I dont say anything, no one will) so I just took another seat nearby. I was anxious throughout the trailers, waiting for someone to come and tell me I was in their seat. Luckily that didnt happen (If you havent noticed, Im the proverbial introvert youve been reading so much about lately). I understand the first and third incidents were probably just cases of bad luck, but considering the seats arent very comfortable there is no incentive for me to go to Crossroads when I could visit a traditional theater and choose a (comfortable) seat after entering the auditorium. I wont be returning unless they are the only theater playing a film I really want to see. Of course, reclining seats are trending and most theaters will probably have them one day. Then I may return due to lack of other options. (Note to Regal at North Hills: if you go that way in the future look to the Grande for inspiration, not your cousin Crossroads).

I go to the movies at least once a week, and am familiar with the dozen or so theatres in my area. The Regal in Cary is the closest IMAX to me that has reserved seating, which I prefer. I took my friend to see Wonder Woman in IMAX 3D this weekend. While the movie and IMAX experience were great, the poor customer service by a member of your concession staff is what had us talking on the way home. I have been to this theatre hundreds of times over the years, and my only previous issue is that sometimes there are only two or three people at the concession stands during peak times. I dont really mind the lines if I have reserved seating, but dont want to be forced to arrive to the movie 30 minutes early just to ensure I make the movie on time. My experience last night, 06/03, was the worst Ive had at any theatre in the area. When we arrived it was busy, but there were 4 or 5 concession reps available, so we only had to wait a few minutes. When it was our turn, we started to give Alex our order. In the middle me placing my order, Alex yelled something to another concession rep on the complete other end of the area. I repeated my order as he looked at me with a blank stare. He then, got my order wrong, and I (very politely) advised him that he gave us the wrong type of soda. My friend and I apologized (even though we gave the order twice, very clearly). He rolled his eyes and made the new soda. We again apologized and said thank you. He looked as us and didnt even acknowledge us, let alone apologize. Alex appeared young, and may just not be fully trained yet. I suggest training him on simple soft skills or moving him to a position that requires less customer interaction. Our two tickets were over $35, and we spent an additional $35 on concessions. For over $70, I expect the customer service to be adequate. Very disappointed.
