Laurel View boasts a full 18 hole course with elevation changes, and hazards. The level of difficulty is about average with okay greens and medium to narrow fairways. However the tee boxes are small and the actual yardages separating the blue, white, and red tees does not change the difficulty of your round by much.
Overall this is a good course that is affordable and fun for your low to mid handicappers with good carts though the cart paths could use a paving. Weekday golfers take warning though, league play trumps your tee time and play and the starter will interrupt your play to accommodate them. On Thursdays they shotgun start on the front 9 promptly at 4pm and you have to finish the front (if youre playing 18) by 3:50 or you will be bumped. Ample parking with a decent pro shop and nice bar.
UPDATED 2011: Played there once this year and didnt go back due to atrocious greens and sub-par staff service. Tried to get on as a walk-on, ended up waiting 20 minutes for the starter to even show up from his break while two-somes just went out on their own. Ended up just starting on my own while the landscaping crew mowed the tee box as I was standing on it. Truly horrible experience for the full price paid and night and day difference between 2010 and 2011.
UPDATED 2012: Have played there twice this year. The first time was early in spring so conditions were okay and expected as much. But just played there today and while most courses are hitting their full swing as far as conditions go, Laurel View is just atrocious. Then they have the gall to charge $51 for a round on a course that is poorly maintained, incredibly bumpy greens with ball marks all over them (no signs of aeration either just extremely bumpy), and uneven tee boxes that are half dead. Not to mention our round took 5.5 hours thanks to groups going off the first tee at 3 minute intervals it seemed. Its a shame the course has gone such downhill under the current management. Spend your money elsewhere and dont waste your time here unless you can play for free.

After promising myself Id never play Laural View again after the last horrible experience, it happened once again..wtf? We scheduled a round at 8:16am yesterday. We get to the course and a Ole timer mens league were teeing off in front of and we were forced to tee off that back and was warned that we may not be able to make the turn because of the league and a shot gun tournament!! So we drive up to 18 and were greeted by 3 4-somes ahead of us and 2 4-somes teeing off!! We couldnt finish our round and we were basically told that we were done for the day!!! So we go back to the pro shop and demanded our money back and got nothing but the run a round as usuall. We were finally refunded $15.00 of our $29.00!! Bullshit! They over book the course and not update the times with golf now and show availabilities for times that do not exist!!!! The course is in terrible shape!! millions of unrepaired divots everywhere, cart paths are like a motorcross track, poor greens and rock hard sand traps, xerox copied score cards, no food or refreshments...the list goes on and on!!! I grew up on this course and remember when it was a fun place to play! This is probably the worst course in Connecticut and overpriced!

Having played only a few public courses in the area, my expectations were low but this course was long and tight with flat (but slow) fair greens. There were a few blind tee shots with hazards/OB that we figured out after we hit and the play was extremely slow (easily 5hrs on the summer weekend I was there) but certainly worth the money if its not that busy.

Nice greens and thats it. Couldnt tell the difference between the rough and the fairway in most place. The tee boxes are in horrible shape. The course seems as though there are no grounds keepers other than a guy who cuts the grass. Great price for 18 but you deffinetly get what you pay for.

Decent course. Seems to have dropped off in quality the last few years but the course is fun still. Range is extra and they give you the balls (low quality beat up) in a plastic shopping bag... "No drivers" on the range which also has not distance markers.

Great layout, fair conditions, would have been a lot more enjoyable but for the slow play of the threesomes ahead of us. Wait, wait, wait, while the course wss wide open ahead of that group. Well worth playing.

i realize it is early in the season but there was a significant amount out of goose waste on the course and it was extremely wet

Its shameful that such a great golf course has become a dump due to poor management by Matt Manchetti.
