I would say that the course was okay, nothing great but not the worst course in the area either. I played the course about 7 times this summer and I must say, the staffs there are very condescending and lacks any integrity. On several occasions, I was informed by the staff that the course was wide open only to arrived at my tee time with an outing going which in turn took 5.5 hrs to finish a round. On my last visit there, i was informed on the phone that there was a huge outing at 1p.m on a saturday (fall rates was $29 after 1). My friends and I played our round at 10 a.m that saturday morning, when we completed the round I asked the head manager in the office where was the outing and he informed me that there wasnt any...I informed him that his ethical practices at the club would sooner catch up to him. I hope this helps all the folks who r looking to play at bittersweet. If you want play golf...play somewhere where your biz would be appreciated and customer service is provided. Dont let your hard earn money be wasted on the weekend with crooks.

I first want to say that Bittersweet was named the number one golf course by the readers of the Daily Herald. Mr, Geotsalitis owns a home on the golf course and is just a case of sour grapes. His review was written in March long before the club was open for the season and the geese were probably in his back yard. The trees that were removed were on the golf course, but he would not know that since the last time he played there was in 2008 long before the new management took over. The high school kids do use the driving range but they are on the opposite side of hole number one. He would know that if he had played there in 2009.I would like to invite him back to eat a meal at our new restaurant and see what he thinks, Can he be honest? The golf course is the best it has been in probably 10 years, I challenge you to check it out.

Really nice course. Tucked back in a neighborhood. I wouldnt recommend walking this course for your first time. There is a long walk between some holes. This course will challenge you to stay out of the water but is do-able. The greens are well taken care of and not too crazy. I wish they would have had more ball washers. Only had a few on the course and the ones they did have were mixed at best. The drink girl didnt make the round until at 2pm. I will play at this course again.

Bittersweet is one of those courses, no matter how many times I have played here it never ceases to surprise me with its creative layout and sensational views. Its one of the best courses in Illinois. They have a decent driving range and few practice greens on premises. Course is walkable and no matter your skill level you wont be disappointed by spending time here.

The course is in very good shape. Greens are smooth and rolling well. People there are great. Course requires strategy, leave the driver in the bag for some holes. Play smart you will enjoy it. Good driving range and practice green. Get a lesson, the pro is very helpful.

Like the course a lot, gotta know where to hit it and stay out of trouble, can be very tough first time or hundredth time. Lives up to its name, can easily shoot 100 or 80 depending on how accurate you are on any day.

Course was fair and fun. However, golfers need more ball cleaning boxes and drinking water tanks which were hardly found. Greens need more sand and please make them even surface... Overall, it was average experience.

Course is in xcellant condition baring a few dead spots because of the flooding. No carts in the parking lot, no cart access to the bag drop, which is kinda stupid.
