IF what youre looking for is a quiet, get away with a "vegas-like" feel, M Resort may be just the place for you. I struggled with the highly generalized rating categories on this one. Appeal - its a very nice hotel. Well designed, well decorated (aside of the lack of furniture in the main lobby. Seating for 10, in a lobby the size of a basketball court? Seriously??) If you plan on staying here, thinking that they will accommodate your desire to go hit the Strip, think again. The M Resort does offer a free shuttle service, but it only runs every 4 hours ("but its free", I was reminded by one particularly rude staff member) - shuttle to the airport is about every 2 hours. Its realistically a 20 minute drive to the Strip, or the airport - by cab it cost around $40-$50. The facilities were good... when they were open. It felt like there were barriers everywhere we looked. Nothing was ever open. The pool opens very late (10:00am every day we were there) and closed at 6:00 every night. The "adult" pool wasnt even open while we were there. The crowd at the pool seemed like mostly locals that bought a day-pass to the pool. Not sure why, but that bothered us. I hear there are some nice restaurants at M Resort - I wouldnt know, because it seemed that none of them were ever open. I know thats an exaggeration, but it really felt that way when we were hungry and went from restaurant to restaurant searching for food, only to find our choice limited to the beer bar, with school cafeteria style food. Not good. This was just how the whole place felt - empty, nothing open. Like a hotel that will be cool when it finally has its grand opening. Service - this was spotty. Most of the staff were very courteous and seemed (almost too) appreciative of our staying there. There were a few stand-outs when it came to poor service, however. I wont name names, but suffice it to say there were several staff members that were just downright rude, and one in particular that made the last day of our visit just that - that last day that we will ever visit the M Resort. Last, but certainly not least - for the love of all things holy, GET RID OF WHATEVER "FRAGRANCE" IT IS THAT YOU ARE PUMPING INTO THIS PLACE!!! Every time we walked through the doors it was like needles straight to the headache zone in our brains. Whe we were inside the hotel, we would have constant sinus headaches, as soon as we walked outside, it would clear up. It honestly makes me gag just thinking of that smell... Bottom line - its a beautiful hotel that I will never again visit.

I was not happy with two things that occurred. 1- Our suite was upgraded which was nice but i was given a smoking room/floor even after I had asked about smoking rooms and expressed my disgust for them. We were already settled in our room when we figured out the room was a smoking room on a smoking floor. My sister checked in later and got the same suite in nonsmoking floor. It’s just frustrating that they didnt think about a baby being on that floor even when I made comments about it! 2- I had a horrible experience with the spa! I had booked an express mani/pedi for 4/21 and when I got in early they told me that I was booked for the 14th and marked as a no show. I thought that was weird that they put down the wrong date but they were able to put me down for 10am. I arrive at 10Am and everything is going well until about 10min into the manicure I noticed she was getting ready to give me a message and finish up without filing or cutting my cuticles. She said that that was how they did the express mani/pedi. I told her I’ve had many express spa pedi/mani and they all still cut the cuticle, it usually just cut out the message. She got an attitude with me (also didn’t speak great English) and I went to the front desk to express my concern. They didn’t seem to care but offered me something to drink and said they would still charge me. I figured that if they were going to still charge me I might as well get it done. So I sat back down to watch her paint my nails horrifically (uneven, missing the sides completely) as if she didn’t even care. At that point I decided that I would go off site to get a pedicure and manicure as this lady had just wasted my time and rushed through my manicure. At the front desk they still tried to charge me for a Mani/Pedi even though I barely got either and was headed off site to get a real mani/pedi. Note that I had a spa credit of $50 so the difference would have been $25. They also told me that I couldn’t use the spa credit on nail services (which was confirmed with the front desk reservation when I made the appointment!) They ended up waiving the pedicure that I never received so just my spa credit was used so it worked out in the end on that front. So I left and went down the street to Highland Nails and they did an exceptional job! I would not recommend this spa to anyone. It was very confusing and I was given different info from each person. They just didn’t seem to have it together!

My girlfriend and I stayed at the M for five days and four nights and found many things about them laudable. Their staff was helpful and friendly, offering assistance with everything from billing to restaurant recommendations (for locations outside their premise even, which was surprising). The hotel and rooms were emasculate and offered gift certificates for ecofriendly room care options such as refusing towel service. Their wine cellar, the Hostile Grape, offered a wide variety of fantastic wines for even the most refined palettes, for a price. The catered function on the top floor offered a gorgeous view of the city with a variety of foods that tantalized the tongue, served by a well-trained staff. However, for all that the M resort does very well, a few things were lacking for the price. While the room was beautiful (see attached picture), the bed itself was rigid and uncomfortable and ill appointed. Our king bed had a queen comforter as well, though that could easily have been a one-time mistake. The chairs accented the room well I’m sure but I doubt anyone tried sitting in one before buying them or they’d have left them at the store. That said the view was quite nice and the automatic shades were an excellent touch. What at first seemed an odd choice of a glass wall on the bathroom provided an excellent view out the window while relaxing in the bath for those so inclined. As far as their on-site restaurants, the bakery was spectacular and well worth visiting (I’d suggest the chocolate hazelnut panettone). The lunch buffet at Studio B offered during the week provided a wide variety of reasonably priced food from a variety of cultures as well as complimentary wines and beers. Sadly it wasn’t up to the standard of the food served at their catered events, though it was reasonably good for the cost. The on-location oriental restaurant Jayde Fuzion was better, offering two different levels of all you can eat buffet: sushi and sashimi or non-fish dishes, with an option to upgrade to both for a premium. The food was better, though not so good as many of the other options in Vegas. In summary, if the room had been a comfortable place to stay in addition to a beautiful one the M resort would receive a perfect five stars. Though the restaurants weren’t the best I’ve eaten at, they do well by perhaps any resort standard in Vegas save Paris or China Town.
