This is no way a four-star hotel. Stayed recently for four nights. The womens spa is lovely, and very nice service there. The people in the gift store are very nice as well. All other staff are completely indifferent. Reception desk, bell captain, valet parkers, security detail - can barely nod at you in greeting or acknowledgement. There is no warmth, no hospitality whatsoever at this big box of a hotel. Ive gotten better reception as a guest of Motel 6! I asked for a few things to be delivered, fixed or taken from my room and always tip generously. One staff member grumbled a little something but the others just stuffed the money in their pockets without a thanks. Do they even train these people? It would be different if I was a whiny grouch, but Im pleasant and friendly and respectful, have lots of friends, and I know I have an attractive appearance...theres nothing about me that would warrant such rudely cold behavior. I feel that if you are spending time and money in a hotel, there should be a feeling of hospitality extended to you. The staff should be trained to treat each person they deal with like its the persons "home away from home" for that stay. I have stayed at big hotels run by corporations that were warm and pleasant and made me feel welcome. The Southpoint was a truly cold experience. As for the food: horrible, horrible, horrible, and Im not picky, believe me. I can go plain or fancy. However, the Southpoint ran out of coffee, water and ice at 9 AM two days straight and had bacon that was like cold beef jerky and rubber scrambled eggs. A friend joined me for dinner in the hotels main cafe. They used to have a good Chinese menu there, thats why we chose it. I got the (formerly) excellent egg foo yung, which now has patties that are as round and thick as hockey pucks with a few scallions in each one. Inedible. Left most of it. What happened? This used to be their best dish! Ate lunch at the deli, which now has really bad bagels - stale and dry - basically the worst white bread with some topping sprinkled on it. Ugh. For lunch I ordered a romaine salad. Got a huge box of lettuce with one slice of onion and two slices of white-ish tomatoes, with a squeeze tube of the worst salad dressing I have ever tasted. Even the popcorn at the movie I decided to see was stale. Whats up with this place? It needs a major overhaul. I have a networking group of four hundred women in Las Vegas and I am definitely telling them not to send their out of town visitors there any more. I used to recommend it, but the service, the cold, dull atmosphere and the horrible food make it uninhabitable for anyone who wants to feel truly at home and cared for. Ugh, ugh and double-ugh. Frankly, I consider it a miracle that I can give the Southpoint two stars. Both are for the womens spa.

DONT BOOK BEFORE YOU READ THIS!! So I arrived to check in, I booked a deluxe room, got my room then open the curtain to find a surprise!!! A WALL LESS THAN 1 FOOT BEHIND THE WINDOW!! COVERING THE ENTIRE WINDOW!!!! so its like a basement ROOM!! although it was in the sixth floor. So I went down stairs and I found the supervisor assistant which named Erica, very rude and insulting, in my opinion she is so far away from being qualified for such a position. much higher than her manners I explained to her what happened then her answer was that you didnt select a room with a view and this is what you get. OMG! I asked her if she was serious? and she said yes, you have to pay $10 if you want a pool view or $20 to get a strip view. I said I dont care about a view but I want a room that is not a jail cell!! I need a room with a window that I can see the sun. she said Sir you have to pay for this!" Can you believe that!! because I dont you have to pay in order to get a room with a window that you can see the sun outside??? I asked her if all the basic rooms are like that, and she said yes. she was very irritating not helping at all. then I asked her to refund my money back since nothing of this was mentioned on the website about a wall right behind the window !!! I stayed in so many hotels in my life and didnt take the fanciest room in most of these hotels but never saw a room that looks at a wall just right behind it since its "a non view room" CRAZY!!!! she made me call the booking agency to ask for a refund, and when she spoke with them she refused to give a refund. She was so cheap to see me upset and argue for more than an hour making phone calls for what is worth $20, she basically didnt care, What kind of a supervisor is she?? In my opinion big hotel like that having a supervisor that saw a customer in my situation with a baby and standing arguing with her for what is worth $20 is a huge management problem and a big mistake. any way I ended up paying the $20 because I dont want to sleep in a cell. but I recommend that you stay away from it or check the room before you check in. By the way I payed more than $115 per night for before even the $10 upgrade crab she wanted.

This review is for the casino and spa. I did not stay in the hotel. Overall, this is a great spot to hit up if youre looking for something off the strip. The casino floor is a decent size and has a good variety of games. Not being much of a gambler, I popped a couple of twenties into the Britney machine and came out ahead, so that was fun! Cocktail waitresses were few and far between. The spa is great. It is clean and soothing, the staff is courteous and speak in their soft spa voices. The relaxation massage I had was not the best Ive ever had, but still very very good. The lockers are easy to manage (keys, not codes) and the robes are heavy and cozy (with pockets for your locker key). The relaxation room was just okay, the lights should have been dimmed, it felt like a waiting room, not a relaxation room. It was, however, stocked with water, teas, juices, and apples for the taking. Raven might be the best spa attendant I have ever met. She seemed to always be around when we had a question or request and had the perfect spa juju. The showers were interesting in that each private stall had its own different scent of shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. What really made the spa stellar was the hydro room. The hot tub was not as hot as I like but made up for it with bubbles and depth. The water reached just below my chin when sitting on a bench. It was awesome. There was also a steam room, sauna, and two individual sized pools that caught a jetting stream of water that shot straight down from the sky upon the push of a button. The point of these is that you position yourself under the stream and let the high-pressure water beat down on your shoulders and back. It felt divine! We stayed in the womens space only, which was suit optional. I have no idea what the shared space was like or how modest it was.. Overall, this is a place Id visit again (I recommended this spa to another guest at the Strip hotel we were actually staying at).
