This is definitely what Id call a classic Americana roadside trip. We make a point of stopping in every time were in St. Ignace, not because the mystery is such a mystery anymore, but because as far as tourist traps go (which is absolutely is) its a charmer, and the people that run the place are good folks. My kids always save up money for our vacations so they are very keen on who has the best tourist place prices, and the Mystery Spot is at the top of their list. They also tried the zip lines this year and loved them. :D In short- Mystery Spot- go for the charm of a good and unassuming tourist trap (and I mean that fondly), stay for the zip lines and the optical illusions.

I visited this mystery spot 30 years ago! Yes, 30! It is oddly satisfying to see that it is still proving Mr. Barnum correct. As others have said, if you want to see what all the Mystery Spots do - come to this one. It is one of the oldest. There are fun optical illusions with the lack of a horizon. If you can part with the money do it just for the silliness. Oh, and if the maze is still there, DO NOT PAY for it. Just a bunch of ropes tied between trees just far enough along the path so you cant see that is just that - a bunch of ropes tied between trees. I wonder how much money they have made in those 30 years, now that is a mystery!

The tours were rushed through and too close together. If paying to see the mystery, I expect that my children can each have a turn trying out each of the "spots". Also, the Putt-Putt golf course has each spot too close together making it impossible to enjoy it with little ones due to people creeping up on the "turf" tapping their club and feet to let you know that theyre there, ready to go. If you cant make room in between or have teams or groups space out their turns, then at least throw some benches in along with signs asking to please wait until the group in front of you is ahead by 1 or 2 holes before you go. Just common courtesy!

I am not convinced it is a hoax. Some things seemed quite strange, and I could see based on the ground incline that it wasnt all optical illusion. I definitely felt woozy while on the tour, and felt some pressure when I was walking downhill that made it harder to walk than when I was going uphill. If its all in my brain, so be it. It was fun, brought laughter to people, was mysterious and quite different than any other attraction Ive been to. Short, yes, but I thought worth it.

Initially before we visited the place we were so excited looking at the pics. In the reality, we were so much depressed as there is nothing mystery but everything science. Apart from it, it is so small tour and couldnt even get enough time for capturing photos which is the major part one would expect from that spot. Maze and golf are waste of time. There is nothing even good over there. Service is good though.

It took me nearly 39 years to see it but I really think this is a great stop on your trip to or from the beautiful UP. The guides are happy and friendly and the site is a great stretch your legs place. I cant speak about the golf or zip lines but the Mystery Spot must be experienced in person for full effect. Its summer dont be afraid to support a small town with your attraction dollars.

Lets be honest, this place is a tourist trap. But its definitely one worth visiting. They have all the basic fun things, the mystery spot itself, zip lining, a gift shop, and mini golf. Theres something for everyone. I enjoyed the zip lining the best. Plan an hour or two into your visit so that you can see everything you want to and not get rushed.

The Zip line was very cool! Just That It Was Very Uncomfortable.. The Gravity part is just a illusion.. not a Gravity change.. and The Wood maze was just crap m8!! But I Rate this place 5/10 IGN m7! And One Crappy Part about this.. the Tour Lady Did Not Show Us All Of The Tricks In The Gravity Building Thing.. But Yeah.. :/

This is just an old-fashioned tourist trap without a lot of glitz (just some corny optical illusions) but somehow my kids had a blast here anyway. The setting is beautiful, the zip lines are awesome, and the garden maze on the other side of the parking lot was a highlight. If youre in the UP you really have to go here.

Corney and rehearsed. A mess of tarp covered uneven boards, definetly not accessable for the disabled(or disoriented) fun for kids. The illusion was cool but not worth the money to get in or the queezy feeling of trying to walk around. Ho hum, and of course the trail dumped us right out into the gift shop!

Definitely one of the overpriced tourist traps. The zip lines are not worth it as theyre very short and not even scenic. The area I was directed to so I could take pictures of my son and husband zip lining wasnt even the line they were using!! So disappointed we stopped here.

More for young kids but it was fun as a tourist trap and we just had to get our pennies flattened in the machine. Again, the tour of mystery house was lackluster and more for kids, but the zip lines were fun and I like old tourist traps on road trips.

We had fun... I knew it was a mind game... but I was bemused most by the blocks of the initial outdoor demonstration. As far as tourist traps go, this one is neat tidy, clean, and well done. Zip lines were fun... staff was top rate normal people.

The guided tour is informative and interesting, very nice people for tours. The Zipline is definitely worth the extra for the ticket, just wish they were a little longer. Still an amazing place to go! Suggest trying it out on personal vacations.

As someone with any kind of physics knowledge, this is just a bunch of tricks someone could learn from a basic physis lesson. You can get a lot out of the ticket price and could be very interesting for a child, but dumb and cheesy for adults.

Ill tell you what. Its probably not worth it to go a long distance to get here. But if your in the area deffenently stop in. Its really neat the way it works. Sure you can tell what the illusions are but its still a great time for sure.

Definitely fun place to zip line but the illusion portion was a bit overrated. Over priced for what you get. Better for a family vacation sort of thing with younger kids. Staff was very friendly though and the zip lines were great!

Always a blast! Stop every year when we visit Mackinaw Island. Fun for the kids, want to try the zip lines next year as the kids should both be big enough then. The maze and putt putt course are lots of fun as well.

As an engineer, I cant help but know the science behind this. Could have been longer and more in depth with more examples but for the average person this isnt bad. A little overpriced at $7 per person though.
