Ticketing System: The theater has transitioned to kiosk-based ticketing, which some find slow and prone to malfunctions, particularly on busy days.

Seating Comfort: The theater has been renovated to include reclining seats, which are generally appreciated for their comfort.
Staffing: The theater is described as understaffed, particularly at the concession stands, leading to long lines and wait times.
General Atmosphere: Despite its shortcomings, some reviews indicate that this is one of the better AMC locations in the area, especially when compared to other options in Rockland or northern Bergen County.
The AMC Loews Palisades 21 and IMAX is a part of the larger Palisades Center Mall, making it convenient for a day of shopping and entertainment. However, the mall's crowd can sometimes affect the theater-going experience. The theater has undergone renovations to improve seating comfort, but issues with cleanliness and customer service persist.

Confronted by a gun-toting security guard after I bought the tickets and tried to enter. Very rudely asked me what was in a small white paper bag I was carrying even after I repeatedly answered him. Upon being told I had sandwiches, was informed of their policy of no outside food allowed. Amazingly the guard then demanded that I go off to the side & eat the sandwich right them & there. Repeated reminders that my show had already started had no effect. I asked that they refund my ticket & they then enlightened me about another iron-clad policy of no refunds. So here i was intimidated by an armed guard, holding a bag of sandwiches, & with my show already started. Manager was called out who basically repeated the iron-clad rules slightly more politely than the gunslinging hot-shot. Finally told them there was no way I was going to gobble down my sandwiches & offered to throw them in the trash. At this point I also informed them that I was a regular customer & that the ticket seller recognized me. But nothing seemed to have any effect. After all they already had my money, customer satisfaction be damned. Ended up throwing the sandwiches in a trash can in front of them & going in for the show which I was barely able to sit thru given the nasty, unpleasant experience.

I am HIGHLY disappointed at the service i received from this theater. During the movie the person next to me answered 2 phone calls, sent multiple text messages (man movie goers were yelling for him to put his phone away) and was playing music through his headphones. I left the theater and went to guest services to express my discontent. I spoke to a young women and man at about 4:30pm and they ensured they would have someone come speak to the man. I even provided them with his seat number but no one came to correct this mans behavior and he received yet another call. I asked him very politely to leave the theater and take the call and he refused. I was very uncomfortable and i was walking out of the theater another man in the first row about 4 seats in lit a cigarette. I was shocked at the behavior of these men and disappointed of the lack of customer service. If someone would have came to speak to the man next to me then it would have not forced me to leave the theater early. I have never been so disappointed at my experience.

Been going to this theater for years out of convenience because the next 12+ theater was over half an hour away. Being in the Palisades Mall one could always count on low life mall rats to be sitting next to or behind you making noise and kicking seats...a Palisades Mall Perk. Now the theater replaced all but one of their cashiers and all tickets are now sold by kiosks which are painfully slow when they work and break down frequently, almost exclusively on Fridays and Saturdays, so be prepared to spend half an hour to get your tickets. And now with their pre-assigned seating option if you dont plan your movie choice a day ahead you will arrive and find your group cant sit together...even if you got there early. Human cashiers and first come first served seating may be archaic but it works a lot better than their system. If you are a grown up and want to enjoy a stress free evening at the movies then run, dont walk, away from the AMC Palisades 21 and the Palisades Mall in general, go anywhere else and you will be much happier!

I normally come to amc and enjoy myself but now AMC palisades is beyond gross. Our theater was never cleaned, we paid online in advance to reserve our seats and upon arrival the seats were absolutely f i l t h y. Drenched in butter. Not to mention I had to kick tubs of popcorn just to get to my seat. The brand new recliner seats dont mean a thing If I have to sit in a puddle of butter and walk through trash. This isnt the first time either, this is about the fourth or fifth time in the last 7-8 months. I just wish I wouldve taken photos to upload. Now I go to regal, the old fashion seats are perfectly comfy and most importantly, they keep the theater super clean.

i was really excited to go there, but to me the prices were to high considering that it was a "throwback" movie. so i went and got food, which was totalling to be $16.00 ., for just a med. popcorn and small drink. I went to the drinks which was pretty cool that i was a self serve machine. I walked in the theatre and i went to go find my seat but there was popcorn piled up in the from the i guess the last movie, so i went to another seat that was empty and it was a journey to get there because the isle was filled with bags and candies and popcorn buckets. worst visit ever, they should at least clean it at least 10 min before the movie starts

Palisades used to be a legit 15/70 IMAX up until recently. Saw Transformers Age of Extinction in 2014 and it was still in a real IMAX theater. Just recently went to go see Batman v Superman here since select scenes were captured with IMAX cameras. To my disappointment AMC has built there own "liemax." Dont get me wrong the new digital IMAX cinema is very nice and has comfortable seating. However its not the same as seeing it on a "real" IMAX screen. Last time I drive 90 minutes to see a movie in IMAX here.

Pros: Seats are comfy as hell now they recline Pretty clean Staff is adequate Reserved seats can be nice Food is good, and on par with normal expensiveness (just go to Target beforehand honestly.) Cons: Reserved seats mean harder to buy tickets Bigger, nicer seats mean less room, making it still harder to get tickets The ticket machines outside the theatre break down a lot and the line inside is annoying. In conclusion: Overall a good time but the new set-up can be annoying. Plan ahead

Very disappointing. The seats in the IMAX leave no room for people to get past. Its very dirty and understaffed. 4pm on a Saturday and they only had 3 concession registers open out of 12. They were constantly running out of popcorn and having to stand around and wait for more to made. The line was massive and I missed the first 10minutes of my movie. Im avoiding this location in future, which is a shame given its location and all of the restaurants under one roof.

I-mini screen and experience, at IMAX prices. For a $20 ticket I found out today they moved the IMAX theatre and merged into the AMC. The screen is 1/4 if not less of what it was at the old location. If this is a "max", you got to ask what a mini looks like. Oh, and the floors looked like they had not been cleaned since last week. Bye, "mini-max"! I was kind of holding off my 80" 4K TV and 4K DVD player purchase, but tonight you convinced me to get them asap.

There isnt a better theater within rockland or northern bergen county. The theater has come along way from years ago and the renovations have certainly helped. Most of the time i havent had any issues except for the rare employee who clearly has not been trained properly. I have a rather dim view of most movie theater chains and certainly there are bad amc locations around (im looking at you elizabeth nj jersey gardens) but this is one of the better ones.
