Staff Efficiency and Courtesy: The staff at ShowBiz Cinemas Kingwood 14 is noted for their quick and helpful service. They go the extra mile to assist customers, even in large groups, with carrying trays and being patient while orders are being decided.
Technical Issues: Some customers have experienced delays due to technical difficulties with the screen freezing. However, the staff was apologetic and offered free tickets for future visits.
Assigned Seating: The cinema offers assigned seating, which some find convenient, especially for large groups or popular films. However, others find it restrictive, especially if they end up near disruptive patrons.
Emergency Service Discounts: The cinema used to offer discounts for EMS personnel, but this has been discontinued, leading to some dissatisfaction among this group.
General Admission: Prices are considered high, especially outside of matinee hours. Senior citizens and matinee showings do offer a reduced rate of $6.50.
Concessions: The snack bar is noted for its high prices, although there are deals like $1.00 hot dogs and refillable popcorn and drink combos.
Screen and Sound Quality: Generally, the screen and sound quality are good, but there have been instances of inconsistencies.
Seating Comfort: The seats are generally considered comfortable, and some patrons find them more so than those in competing cinemas.
Variety of Shows: The cinema offers a wide range of showtimes and even midnight releases for popular films.
Rewards Program: They offer a free rewards program where you can earn points for free tickets and discounts at concessions.
Souvenir Buckets and Cups: These can be kept and reused during the entire year with $2.75 refills after the initial purchase.
Refill Deals: One of the standout features is the refill deal for popcorn and drinks. Customers can pay an initial $10.50 for a combo and then get future refills for $2.75.
Hot Dog Deal: The cinema offers $1.00 hot dogs all the time, which is considered a great deal by many.
Seating Policy: The assigned seating policy has been a point of contention among patrons. Some appreciate the convenience, while others find it limiting.
Emergency Services Discount: The discontinuation of discounts for EMS personnel has led to some negative feedback.

Today the staff at Showbiz helped make what was a very hectic day run so much smoother. I spoke with Mr. Curtis about getting the 14 kids in our group drinks as well as snack sized popcorns without breaking the bank. His staff was incredible quick, helpful and courteous, really going the extra mile to help us get everything together with carrying trays and very patient while we waited for everyone in our party to make up their minds on what to drink. When one of our party was running late, they held their ticket and even refunded us the extra ticket we had when one guest couldnt come last minute. I really do like the assigned seating, if its a film that Ive really been looking forward to or we have a large group, we pay the $1 online charge to guarantee our seats, and its worth it to me to not stress about getting there early or waiting in lines for concessions. If I think about it ahead of time, Ill pick up tickets on my way home from work to avoid the ticket fee, the location is the front of Kingwood so its super convenient and right off the highway.

Comfortable seating. Fairly good sound quality. Outrageous prices when not going on matinee hours, and snack bar is really out of sight price-wise unless you invest in their long-term popcorn bucket and refill drink deal. Only really great deal is the $1.00 hot dogs all the time. Small, but usually not over cooked like many theatres. Quality of the projection varies from time to time, as does sound. I have been to several showings where the times listed online were NOT the times the films actually started. Late is more common than early. $6.50 admission for Seniors over 62 is not bad, same price for adults during matinee hours. All other times prices are sadly outrageous, especially for the "roller coaster" Dolby dual darn-it everything 3d theatres. Overall, the best theatres on the 59/69 corridor area, way better than the AMC Deerbrook Cinemas which are filthy and over-priced, and hard to park at. Ill go to Showbiz until something better opens out this way.

Im in Ems, and for some reason they stopped with the discounts for us unless we are police or fire. Alot of my friends and I went regularly and I cant complain about not getting a service free, but many of us were pretty offended. So we show up on scene with virtually no protection, and show up with faster response times than anyone, but you want to treat us this way. You have lost buisness, maybe not alot, but definately a great crowd of people. That truly hurt guys. Matter of fact, a group of your employees hit a guys car so hard he went off the road and I responded because I was there. Should have seen the damage. On top of this offensiveness, you make us assign seats...are you serious? What if we get a loud mouth or offensive crew around us, we cant move from earshot now. You guys really are making it an unfun experience.

(AS OF ONE YEAR AGO) Great screen and sound, nice employees, good popcorn and drinks, comfortable seating, nice bathrooms. Only one complaint: the last two times Ive watched a movie(about a month apart; I think maybe they had some new tech that they were "breaking in") the screen entirely froze, and the showing was delayed about half an hour the first time, and about an hour the second time while they fixed it. The second time they said the repairman had finished his shift and left just half an hour before, and they had to call him back. They were very apologetic both times, and gave everyone in the room one ticket person to see a movie entirely free at any point in the future. I plan to go see Age of Ultron with my brother this weekend; hopefully there will be no issues this time! After all, that was nearly a year ago. Haha

Always been good as many times as Ive gone. Some midnight releases can be hectic, but thats expected. Cheaper than AMC down the road. I think the chairs are comfier than the ones in AMC as well. Theres going to be noisy teenagers at ANY movie theatre you go to, so dont pretend that "back in the day" kids werent the same. Its never been an issue at this theatre though, they enforce the curfew pretty well. Seriously, dont ever change, Showbiz. Your mixed drinks kind of suck, but its nice to have the alcoholic options anyway. Cheap prices, clean facilities, lots of showtimes, and not charging more for that awesome SDX theater will keep us coming back a long time.

Just saw Star Trek in the DSX today. If Im going to pay a premium price Ill probably stick with AMC prime. It has better seats and a better picture. However, I do love that all of their theatres are assigned seating at Showbiz. I prefer that to just going in and finding a seat. The refill deal for the popcorn and drink cannot be beat. Pay an initial $10.50 up front for the combo and then $2.75 in the future for the combo. Great deal. For us we will probably go the extra distance to the AMC prime for the big blockbusters and to Showbiz for the movies we see in the normal theatres.

I like the new Big Screen Theater and am pleased to have a First Run facility in Kingwood. Ive always wished they would get better popcorn or poppers. What they serve has way too many "crumbs" in it. And it would be so much better with more buttery flavor in it rather than drenching it with the fake liquid topping they provide! I mean what is a movie experience without great popcorn? And if your local hardware store can give away free popcorn that tastes great and has you coming back for more, why cant a theater chain give you a premium experience for $8.00 a tub?

Normally I love this theater, its our theater of choice. Today however we came to see a fantastic movie. Problem is with the family sitting next to me first the kids where in our seats, then throughout the entire movie they where texting the entire time when I said something the didnt care one bit, when I tried to say something to the Mom she just rushed her kids out of the theatre oh they where also such good people they left behind all of the trash. Love this theater always clean and staff are very friendly. My rate is on one set of people in attendance.

DISASTER IN THE MAKING. Its the systemic, rip-off that you will have to deal with, unless you do not go there. Starplex is now trying to act like the airlines and make you take reservations for center row seats. You have no say where you sit, only dependent on how much more money they will rip you off. Its all about money. You will be inconvenienced by sitting way in back or the far sides. Its the never ending way to screw the consumer. DO NOT GO. Wait for the DVD or Netflix. SCREW THEM!

Their SDX theater is the way movies were meant to be seen, massive screen, dozens of speakers and comfortable recliners. Prices are better than some of their close competitors. They offer a free rewards program you can earn points for free tickets and discounts at concessions. They also have souvenir popcorn buckets and drink cups that can be kept and reused during the entire year with $2.75 refills after the initial purchase. Great place to go see movies for date night or for families
