This was is my second time to the newly remodeled theater and it will be my last time here. The new reclining seats are awful on your back and the new sound system makes your ears ring in the front rows. Our first experience with the new remodeled theater we had to sit in the second row because these were the only seats available, and the volume in the front was obnoxiously too loud. Luckily that day I had ear plugs on me and my son used them throughout the movie had I not had the ear plugs we would have left. Also sitting in the second row I had a sore back, had to shift from side to side to get comfortable but could never get comfortable in the reclining seats. I thought maybe my back was getting sore was from sitting in the second row. So I would give this newly remodeled theater one more chance to see if my experience would change. Second time we sat in the second to the last row. The volume of the movie was comfortable to the ears. As for the reclining seats they are flat out horrible. I couldnt find a comfortable position to watch the movie shifting from side to side, at the end of the movie my back was sore and stiff. A redesign of the new recliners is a must before Im going back.

I was all excited to hear about the upgrade to reclining seats like AMC Theatres. I sat down, started reclining back and ........the seat stopped, somewhere in between sitting and reclining. I thought I had a bad chair so I looked around and it appears all the seats only "recline" that far. It has got to be the most uncomfortable position I have ever endured in a movie theatre. It had me wishing for the old chairs, at least they flexed a little bit. And the new seats are stiff as hell. They may soften up with use but the reclining issue is a complete fail. Were they trying to preserve the aisle space in the fully reclined position? Did they just cheap out on the chairs? Did they not want me to be so comfortable I might fall asleep? For whatever reason theyre a complete and utter failure. At this point Id actually pay money NOT to sit in them. Someone needs to serious rethink this "upgrade". As for now its back to AMC for the truly comfy chairs. On the plus side, the movie theatre is always very clean and the people there are extremely polite. But sitting in those chairs is definitely a deal breaker.

I would give zero stars if I could. We purchased tickets online from regal and never received a confirmation email. Tonight we went to try and receive our already purchased tickets and couldnt. After explaining to the lady at the front desk she got her manager. He gave us random seats and said "they may or may not be taken" And to let them know if people were sitting in our seats. The seats were taken, so when we went back to talk to the manager he said there was nothing he could do without a confirmation email. Even though we never received one but were charged. Then he proceeded to talk down to us and say he wont go above and beyond, and wouldnt give us a refund because we didnt "buy the tickets". After arguing back and forth, he gave us passes for a later show because he would not give us a refund without a confirmation code. We Will be taking our business to AMC because the convenient location isnt worth the headache from the poorly trained management and rude customer service received from here.

The first time we went, we saw Dr.Strange in 3D. We had no prob buying tix online, getting into theatre, or getting snacks, and I liked that they had the recliner seats. However, when the movie started, the 3D was not working, and took at least 10 minutes to be resolved. The second time we went, we saw Dr. Mysterio. We had no prob buying tix online or getting snacks, but when we tried to get into our theatre, we were told we had to wait to get in because it was being cleaned, even though the movie was supposed to start in 15 minutes. Once we were finally let in, I couldnt figure out what they had been doing that whole time, because it was definitely not clean. The whole row I was seated in had garbage on the seats, in the cup holders, and all over the floor. I was very disappointed because I paid $17 to see this, plus expensive snacks, and I had to come in and clean off my seats even though it was supposedly cleaned. I was overall disappointed, and Im not sure if I would go back.

Vs. AMC: Higher ticket prices, plus an added "luxury surcharge" on movie passes. Childrens age limit is 11 "and under", which means they will charge me for my infant/toddler who will sit on my lap or sleep for the entire show. AMC doesnt charge for children under 2. Substantially higher concession prices, everything is behind the counter. AMC has the customizable soda machine and icee machine out for the public to refill their own drinks. Popcorn refills are quick and easy. Does Regal even offer refills? Far less seating with new reclining chairs, which have distracting lights in plain sight. Less seating = less chances of getting tickets to the showtime you want. AMC in Lake in the Hills is easier on the wallet, and just as nice (if not better) than Regal after all the renovations done to both theaters. I avoid Regal as much as possible, which includes trading/selling/giving away gifted movie passes for AMC.

My husband and I live about a mile from this theater and would go all the time, except for two things: 1) most movies are dumb teen flicks and 2) the seats are uncomfortable. Number 2 is even worse, since when the theater does show an interesting movie geared to adults, I still dont want to go there because of the seats. The problem is the headrest. It is angled so that it pushes ones head forward, which causes discomfort in both the head and neck. I doubt the theater can afford to redo all its seats -- again -- but so many people have complained about how uncomfortable they are, I would have hoped they could somehow adjust those headrests to bring them in line with the rest of the seat.

I used to go to this theater all time but after the renovation its not worth it. You cant just walk in and get tickets anymore. You have to buy them online hours in advance to garuntee yourself a spot. Makes it impossible to just spontaneously go see a movie like we used to. Plus the ticket prices are about $15 now and the seats half recline so youre just sitting there awkwardly. Ill drive the extra few mins to the AMC and pay less for the comfy couches that recline all the way. Also the sound system at Crystal Lake is killer, might as well have someone yell in your ear the entire time! Clean place and friendly staff though, cant knock them there.

It may not be the best theatre, but the Regal is really pretty nice. The concessions are usually well staffed and contain a good selection of snacks. The arcade is actually a destination in and of itself seeing as there are hardly any other places to play an upright arcade game nearby. I have always thought that the theatres are quite clean and the reclining seats make the movie watching experience much better. On one occasion, a friend of mine was threatened by another moviegoer here. The management was very helpful and at the end of the ordeal offered all of us a free movie pass. I thoroughly enjoy this location.
