I appreciate the fact this is a locally owned theater, but, unfortunately, there were a number of issues with my movie-going experience. Upon arrival the line was outside the theater and it took approximately 15 minutes to even get to the front of the line. Then, when I made it to the cahsier, it took 4 and a half minutes for her to get to me because other customers came up and had issues with their "movie club" membership cards. Because of the ~20 minute wait, we barely made it to see the beginning of the movie we were watching. The theater was quite small which made it possible to hear every persons whispers as if they were sitting beside you. On top of that, there were several tweens watching the movie that would not stop laughing (we were not watching a comedy) or moving around. This completely ruined the movie experience. Also, to try to alleviate the stress caused by the situation, I visited the bar. Unfortunately, the selection of booze was pretty minimal. I ended up purchasing a margarita for my girlfriend and myself, but it fell short (I know it is a movie theater and not a bar, but the thing should at least have a decent amount of tequila in it, but it did not). The only reason I am giving this theater 2 stars is due to the exceptional quality of the picture definition on screen.

Dont waste your time or money seeing a movie here. Go to the Oakley theatre or any other theatre really. This theatre is unexpectedly bad all around. I would expect a theatre in such a nice area to be above average but I what I got was the exact opposite. The theatre I was in was on the second floor and the only seats available were on the far side of the theatre and as I was walking over I was thinking to myself why is no one sitting over here and after I sat down I realized why. There was a wall that curves out into your viewing area and you have to look at the screen at an angle. The best way to describe it is if you are at home and trying to watch TV in the living room from the kitchen. Second the theatre chairs are the most uncomfortable things I have ever sat in. I would have been more comfortable sitting on the floor. Lastly I purchased a soda and popcorn. The popcorn was disgusting I couldnt tell if it was old and had been sitting out for awhile or if it was just cheap popcorn. Either way it was terrible.

I had been going to this theater for years and noticed that the employees had become worse in their level of professionalism over time. My last time there, I witnessed a woman behind the counter literally taking a handful of popcorn from the machine and sticking it in her mouth! She got an attitude when I told her to wash her hands before making my popcorn. She told me that she did not touch her mouth, but rather threw the popcorn in it; I could not make this up! Instead of just washing her hands, she told another guy to make the popcorn and when I asked for more butter (which cost extra) he told me no and not to tell him how to "do his job". I, of course, complained about how unprofessional they were and the manager seemed concerned and said he would talk with staff. I have not been back since. Too bad because I like the theater and its proximity to my house. I just refuse to be talked to or treated poorly by staff over popcorn.

I am extremely disappointed with the Kenwood Theater. Last night, (Friday, November 2) I tried to see the 7:20 p.m. Argo movie with my friend. We arrived at 7:00 in separate cars, and the parking lot was a zoo. I got lucky and stumbled upon a car leaving. My friend told me to go in and save her a seat via phone while she still tried to find parking. My friend drove around for 30 MINUTES till she found parking. Ridiculous! When she finally went in, the movie was SOLD OUT! Due to the horrible parking options, I left the theater for a ticket that I had just paid for because we had no idea it would take her 30 minutes to park. I (nor will she) ever be visiting your theater again. All we wanted to do was see a movie, not encounter Black Friday like craziness.

This was an extremely clean and well maintained theater. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the stadium seats were comfortable. The only issue I had with my visit is that the particular screen I was in was smaller than I am used to; it was essentially a larger version of someones personal home theater, as someone mentioned in another review. I cannot attest to the size of other screens, as I was seeing a movie that had been out for few weeks. Ultimately, it was large enough that it didnt matter to me once the movie started; I didnt notice the size. The matinee price was very reasonable. Overall, I had a very good experience and will most likely be returning.

This is a great theater, and its fantastic of the owners to re-open a theater in the Kenwood area. Its so convenient and there are a lot of places to eat so you can have a "movie and dinner" night out. The management and staff are always helpful, kind, and competent. And they serve alcohol! And have a great selection of chocolate. This is my first choice of theater to see movies - partly because its smaller than the giant multiplexes and more intimate, and partly because its independently and locally owned. Theres parking behind/under the building and also across the street in the mall parking lot. Its never been a problem for us.

The theater is nice and I think the pricing is competitive; however, the staff is kind of rude. The movie I was there to see was going to start in about 10 or 15 minutes and the theater door was open (the previous movie had ended and the theater was empty) so I went in and took my seat. A staff member came in and told me I "couldnt just walk in like that" and that I would need to leave so that they could clean the theater. First off, someone took my ticket and sent me in which makes me think its okay to get a seat. Second off, if you need to clean the theater, thats fine but it could be said a little politer.

SCAM. I did not know they had multiple size theatres within the building. I paid over 20 dollars (full price) to watch a movie on a screen a bit larger than a really nice basement home theatre. There isnt a discount for the smaller theatres. You have no idea of knowing which theatre your movie will be playing in till you get your ticket. What a joke. If I am going to pay full price for a movie on Saturday night I would like to see it on a big screen, not something similar to watching at home. Ill stick with AMC or Rave next time.

This is my favorite cinema in Cincinnati. Each theater is a different size, so they can fit the movie to the audience. The sound engineering is fantastic, never uncomfortable but always full and rich. The staff there is the best part of my experience, from the knowledgable and friendly ladies at the ticket booth to the prompt service at the concessions stands to the eccentric ticket taker (who often dresses in character!), the staff always makes my night! You cant go wrong with Kenwood Theater!
