Let me start by saying the picture and sound were good, but thats about all the positive I can muster for this cinemas. I find it very off putting to walk into a theatre and see popcorn and Coke cups all over the place, and not a single employee working to clean them up. Someone had to tell a manager about a messy theatre for anything to be done about it. To top it off, the box office cashier did not seem interested in anything that wasnt on her cell phone screen. Furthermore, I find it disappointing for a cinema with 12 screens to have 2 of them completely blocked off. If you want to draw more people, offer more shows of the big new movies, and that can be done using the 2 unused auditoriums. Finally, this may be the most bland cinema, both inside and outside, that I have ever seen. Not more than 20 minutes in either direction on I75 is a modern and more welcoming cinemas. Its worth the drive to avoid the Danbarry. Very disappointing experience, and frankly, if business is that slow on a Saturday evening with Finding Dory and Independence Day 2 out, I dont see this theatre being open much longer.

I wish people would think outside themselves when posting a review about places. Yes, admittedly, there could be improvements for just about any place that is available for review, but you have to think about the big picture! Are you willing to shut down what few luxuries are in your small town and force yourself to travel to outlying cities for entertainment? Middletown is not and never has been a "wonderful place" to live, but the families who do live here depend on the few places of amusement we have. Danbarry, in my opinion, is not as bad as most everyone has said. I have lived in bigger cities, including San Francisco and Kansas City. And while their buildings are certainly larger, and have more cinemas, I have not really seen a distinct difference in quality of experience. Danbarry Cinemas of Middletown is just a block or two away from where I live, and I hope it remains there.

I kept seeing something moving in the corner of my eye as I was watching the movie. Suddenly I looked down and saw a rat crawling up to some food on the floor beside me. After seeing the rat I told the people in the main office so they could be alerted of the issue. The manager told me “Oh yea, we know about the rats, I will put down some more sticky papers.” He then explained to me why he didn’t think every one needed to know about there vermin problem because it was only a problem due to the change in the season. The rest of the staff were rude to me and treated my concern as a joke. If I wanted to watch a movie with rats I would have found an abandoned building. Customers should not have to pay $8.00 for a movie and $5.00 for popcorn only to watch a movie in rat infested filth.

Its a great place.....if you like the staff texting on their phones while you are ordering your popcorn...OR....the place being filthy....or having many emergency exits blocked by pop machines etc. or if you like calling to make complaints about the condition of the place..you go up the order of positions only to ultimately speak with the owner and then it suddenly all makes sense. The owner of "Danbarry owns the others as well....and he doesnt care..AT ALL...and turns the already bad experience on YOU by suggesting you want a refund because you didnt like the movie (which had NOTHING to do with the issues). If you go to ANY Danbarry theatre....You cant say you havent been warned. Good luck.

To the person that says Middletown "has never been a wonderful place to live"... Ive lived here all my live, nearly 60 years, and I disagree! Middletown once had plenty of nice places... Restaurants, theaters, stores and shops downtown. New car dealers of every make. The best way for the owners of Danbarry Cinemas to help Middletown is to make improvements and for people to not settle for anything less! How can anyone rate this place more than a one. Needs complete - and I mean COMPLETE - makeover. Dont waste your time or money.

Ive been going to Danberry Cinemas for years, mostly because its the most local cinema where Im at. Usually the theater is unclean, popcorn an stains everywhere. There have been times the staff have been unfriendly, and gave me an unpleasant experience. Itd be nice to see this rundown theater get some new and modern looking renovations done. Im sure there would be a lot more people coming, knowing itd be fresh and clean in there. Just a suggestion.

First they were losing customers because they kept the doors locked during business hours. Then the theater in which my girlfriend and I were to see our film flooded so the showing was cancelled. They moved us to another theater. The movie played for 5 minutes and then the screen went black and restarted the entire film and trailers. Also during the entire movie, they left the lights on. Very poor experience. Ive had better service at $1 cinemas.

Me and my niece went to the movies last weekend. It was when it was so cold. They didnt have the heat on in the theater. My niece was getting so cold that I gave her my jacket. When the movie was done we went and talk to the manager. I told him the heat was off. He told me he will look into it. But it is 7 degrees out side. He didnt say he was sorry or ask if we would want some movie pass nothing.

Im not one to rate things or comment on much however my visit to this theater tonight will be my last after growing up and seeing many movies at this theater when I was younger. My 6 year old son found a bullet casing in a cup holder. I took it to the manager and he laughed and said he didnt quite know what to do with it. Not a laughing matter in my book. I dont want to even give this place 1 star.

This theater hasnt gone through the upgrades and improvements that a lot of theaters in the region have implemented, such as the reclining leather seats, enhanced sound systems, etc. Still, its a little cheaper than those revamped theaters, and you dont have to book your seat hours in advance to avoid getting stuck in the front row, so its a great option for a last minute movie night.

I have been going to Danbarry Cinemas for years and have always been satisfied by the movie quality and experienced for such an affordable cost. It is family friendly and the employees have always been nice and helpful. The building is a bit old, but the Sony 4k Digital projectors show great picture and i can always count on enjoying the show.

I have been here several times and the movie-viewing experience is always fine. They only accept cash, so come prepared. Unfortunately, it seems thugs have come to realize this. The last couple of times Ive gone there have been a group of guys out front asking for money. They need to get rid of these guys and get some better lighting out front.

I only go to this theater because its cheap and you get what you pay for. The theaters are disgusting and sticky theres always garbage and food all over they dont clean up after each showing. The picture is good but the speakers are old and sound crackly. If youre wanting a good movie experience go a little further to an amc theater
