On 9/1/14 this theater had a fire alarm go off. My wife and I had just sat down to watch Guardians of the Galaxy when this happened. We evacuated the building. I thought I smelled smoke, but it turns out somebody just pulled an alarm as a prank (thats what the manager said). I figured there was no way we were going to be able to watch the movie at this point (i.e. their schedule would be screwed up). There was about 20-30 people directly outside of the building waiting for... something. I thought it was ridiculous to wait outside of an ostensibly burning building with the fire crews on their way. So I assumed that our time-stamped tickets would be refunded at a later date. NOT SO. Exactly one week later on 9/8/14, with my wife on my side, I talked with the same person who sold us tickets the first time (he happens to be the manager). I explained that we never got to see the movie and that wed like to see it now. He said that I missed my chance for a refund, that we had to wait outside of an ostensibly burning building to get out refund. Of course, this is not logical. He then went on to say that the time stamped tickets in our possession were not valid proof of having missed the movie, that somebody could have given us the tickets. Besides the fact that its hard to believe this individual cant remember faces, people he served just one week before, his arguments are invalid because the tickets exist and the product wasnt delivered. In the end, I scoffed up another 12 bucks... yes, the prices are cheap (thats why I liked this place to begin with), but this is about principle. And this is absolutely the worst way to treat customers. I literally asked the manager if he had ever taken a business course. Or for that matter, read a business book. Whatever happened to "the customer is always right"? Especially in a clear cut case like this. He was thinking about his immediate 12 dollar gain, but foregoing the long-term profits of not only my business, but the business of the people I know. I ended up not enjoying the movie as much because I had just gotten ripped off and wasnt feeling very well. Hope it was worth it Edison Park 8! Reason obviously eludes your business practices and I wish you nothing but failure. Good day, sir.

I have had good experiences here at Edison Park 8 cinemas. Its e enomical and you get to watch a new release. My 3 star rating is do to two previous experiences that were not too great. First bad experience was at a 10oclock movie. I have two kids and the popcorn went down fast. So I went back for a refill at around 10:20. The popcorn stand was clean as a whistle. I mean. Come on, whats going on here. Not even 10:30 and no more popcorn. This was a 2 hr movie and if youre like me and my kids, if were in the theater we need popcorn. I was very disappointed. So I got over it and went on a different date. Recently actually, on 5/6/2016. I went with kids to watch the jungle book. Great movie by the way. Payed for the 3D movie. So we sat at middle row of theater. Eating popcorn of course while the movie started. I think their popcorn is great by the way. Once the movie stared I noticed that it had a very dark screen. Also that it wasnt really 3D. Kinda 3D but it didnt show the effect much at all. So I told the kids and wife lets try a closer seat. We moved up about 5 rows closer and it helped. It look a bit better on the 3D effects. But still was dark and not quite the 3D Im used to seeing on a theater. Even at this same theather. I was disappointed once again. I understand the prices are low and that you cant expect to get the same as the epensive theathers. But its also not free. So come guys, Its customers like me who keep coming back you want to take care of. Lets make sure the screen quality is what were paying for and bring on the popcorn!

I went in tonight to see all the updates Ive been reading/hearing about. The place looks great! The lobby is clean and well lit, lots of games, the staff was super friendly. Prices were fair, popcorn was fresh. Restrooms were clean and well stocked. The theater was clean with good lighting, the picture quality was great, sound was great. You could tell that a lot of time and effort went into the equipment. Everything was great... BUTT for the seats. (pun intended, with tongue firmly in cheek. Get it? Moving on) If the seat cushions are more that 12 inches wide Id be surprised. The armrests have cup holders built into them, but they dont raise up so they dig into your side. The seats dont move. At. all. Now I admit that Im a big guy, but now-a-days, Im not that much bigger than most people. Im sure theyre fine for kids but most adults... I dont think so. Half way though the movie my back started to hurt and by the end it felt like my hips had gone numb. Im afraid that I wont be going back until they switch out the seats. I could see this becoming, (at least for me and my family), a favorite go to place. They actually listen to you and let you help choose what movies will be coming to play there. You dont see AMC or Regal doing that. They have a lot of contests and special offers. Its really a shame, everything else is so perfect, so professional. But what good does all of that do if you cant sit down?

This theater is absolute trash. Seats are dirty and uncomfortable and staff is non-existent. This is not hyperbole. I went to the 8 oclock premiere of Civil War and spent the first 20 minutes listening to a guy who looked like he was dipping his popcorn in steroids talk to his annoying girlfriend. After numerous attempts of "shhhhhh"ing the guy I went to find someone who worked there. Could not find a single soul. Saw a kid in a black button up (basically what the employees wear) on the side walk out front. Went out to talk to him only to find out he didnt work there. What I did learn is they locked the doors without any sort of sign and I couldnt get back in. Went back in the next day and waited for 10 minutes for a manager to come be a condescending jerk to me. Was told by said manager (female, probably mid 30s, serious case of RBF) that a refund a day after the fact was impossible. I retorted that I would have gladly demanded a refund the night before if staff was present. She seemed too dumb to comprehend this or too underpaid to care. I couldnt be paid to ever return to this place. Whoever operates their Facebok page will also block you if you so much as question them. Long story short: Fornicate this place and its manager in their respective stupid anuses.

I just moved to Fort Myers from Miami and Edison Park 8 Cinemas was the first place I wanted to go because they are close to the place I live and I heard such great things about them. The manager Kathy and the young man with the dreads were the people who were working at the time and they made my experience great. They were very helpful and they even asked if I liked the movie after it was finished. The restrooms were clean, the food was fresh, and the theater was clean. I would love it if they got new seats and a wider variety of movies (for minorities) but besides that this is the place I will be going to see movies from now on.
