Let me start off by saying that I have played all of the best courses that Orlando has to offer. Id like to think I know whats good and whats not. So when my friend kept talking about how nice Deer Island is, I decided to give it a "shot". And I was not disappointed. Outstanding customer service from the time I booked by tee time, to when I pulled in the parking lot, to when I checked into the pro shop. Everyone was very friendly and went out of their way to make me feel like a VIP. The golf course was the real gem out of the entire experience. A true "island" course with water on every hole. As soon as you enter the gated island, the beauty stands out. And I liked seeing some of the holes before I arrived at the clubhouse. The clubhouse could use some improvement but I dont play golf to stay in the clubhouse. The course is a bit challenging but very fair. The big gators and bald eagles on the course were a nice treat. Overall it was well worth the hour drive and I cant wait to do it again.

Every year I play Deer Island. They have gone through a couple of name changes. It was called "The International Golf Club" for a while. Its the same place. This course is easily the hardest course Ive ever played. Every year when I come to Florida, I make sure I play it at least once. Its probably a pushover if you can hit it straight. Plenty of wide landing areas. But if youre crooked, bring a lot of balls. If you push it, its a penalty. If you pull it, its a penalty. If you hook it, its a penalty. If you slice it, its a penalty. The layout is awesome. Ive seen a gator or two every time Ive played here. Lots of wildlife and ZERO cookie-cutter holes. I cant wait to go back. Dont bring an extra sleeve of balls, bring a box. Also, leave the gators alone while they sun themselves.

Not bad, still a good track, biggest complaint, the group in front of us, moved slower than a dead horse. They would play around on tee box , putting, hitting three tee shots and wouldnt allow us or anyone thru. Basically they were people who play there alot and said they were members and can do as they pleased. Would be nice , if the course had a ranger and he could tell them to allow faster players to play thru. Made for a bit of frustration for our group and everyone behind us, we met the group behind us and them a few times waiting on the first group. The course isnt what it use to be, and not really worth the trip up there.

I moved here because of this golf course. It has come a long way from the last ownership. Since Jan. of 2016 this course has come a long way. Started playing again in Nov.2015 and the course and the property have come a long way. New owner has sunk a lot of money into housing and beach ,marina and so on. Still want to see golf course in a little better shape for a sizable price increase for the winter. The staff is very friendly and will help with any of your needs. Restaurant has very good food and is great to sit after a round and relax.

Played @ 7:32 on Saturday May 14th, to say the least o was unhappy with the quality and condition of the course. The greens are I the worst shape I have seen them in 10 years. And bunker sand needs some serious work. However, the astounding beauty of this place is great. My favorite place to hold, just conditions are for lack of a better word, pasture like.

We will not return as the management has recinded the V.I.P. golf coupon that that we had purchased as a promotional package. They have failed to address the concerns that we presented which shows a disregard for the customer. On average we play as a group and play about 24 / 28 rounds per season. Again poor customer service

Played this course for over 20yrs. It is usually uncrowded scenic breezy tough gators have snatched golf balls from the bank osprey Eagles cranes Water surrounds you and yet water rights have always been an issue so it can get pasture like is dry months. I can play any where but I often play deer island I like alot

One of hidden gems in Orlando Area. Cant beat the price with the course they offer. Greens are average but well above playable conditions. Hole layouts are very challenging with fairways being surrounded by lakes/ponds. If this course is in Kissimmee area, you will be looking at paying $50+ in morning tee times.

Played for the first time 12/3/16. Amazing course in an amazing scenic area. Would highly recommend the course. In perfect condition, playable for skilled golfers and a good day for an occasional golfer as well. Ladies tees could be more generous but thats the only comment. Will certainly play again.

The course is nice but the greens has been recently punched and very sandy. There was no previous warning through golf now or at the course. Also a gator ate my ball...

Has the potential to be an excellent course. Greens were in bad condition, bare spots and really bumpy. A challenging course. A exceptionally scenic course.

The course conditioning, service and food are amazing. Not to mention Alligators and Bald Eagles everywhere. This is the best golf course in Lake County.
