My husband and I have been going to the Majestic since it opened and have always had good things to say. We have especially enjoyed the Bistro theatres; the menu items have all been very good and we always had good or excellent service. Its been a nice option, whether it was just us two for a date night or with a group of friends. Recently they enlarged the Take Five Lounge--its now a huge area, with a larger dining area, larger bar, and more tables, plus lots of big TVs. Just last week my husband and I decided to stop in the new Take Five Lounge, as we had time before our movie, and it was the first time we had been there since the new lounge had opened and we thought wed get a bite to eat. Even though it was a Saturday, it was not that busy at the time we were there. There were maybe 3 or 4 tables taken. We sat a table and waited for a server to come. There were a half dozen of them around, talking with each other, several were behind the bar looking right at us, but all of them ignored us. Both my husband and I tried in vain to catch someones attention in the 20 minutes that we sat there, being ignored, but even though I know at least two of them saw us signal to them, they pretended they didnt see us. The other people at the other end of the room were being served, but all the servers walked right past us. I dont know what was so "offensive" about us, but apparently nobody was interested in serving us, so we gave up and left. The servers were mostly young, and were having a good time joking with each other; maybe they should be more interested in working and doing their jobs than socializing with each other.

The seats are comfortable for a movie theater. But it is a badly managed theater. Really bad. (The Hillside sister-theater in Delafield is much more well managed). The movies here are often sold-out. Some of the employees seem to have been ill trained (or worse - ill trained and put into key positions). I recently left before buying my ticket because of this... the lines were out through the inner and outer doors - packed with people by the time I left. When I came there were only about 5 people/couples in front of me in my line. But it took twenty minutes to get up to second place. I was able to observe that the person running the register didnt know what he was doing and called the ticket taker over to advise. Then after a couple minutes consulting proceeded on another path with the same customer. And then called over the ticket taker yet again. Judging by what I could hear while I was in earshot I was able to see why the line had been moving so terribly slow. The thing is - the other lines seemed to be moving just as slow! They were all struggling to sell movie tickets to people. To make it worse they had 2 of the 6 cash register positions idle. So ... to meet the expected, recurring weekly rush on Saturday evening when all the customers were paying full price (not the $5-tuesday hoi-poloi) they couldnt manage to even man all the cash registers with barely trained teenagers?!?! Really, really, really bad management.

I really wanted to have a good experience, but it is clear the staff here simply do not get it. First, every time I have been here in the last few years, one out of every four ice machines are broken, and one out of every four soda fountains are broken. They never have a sign saying they are broken, and the staff is too busy to even be bothered about it. But thankfully the ones that do work generally work well. A minor annoyance, mentioned only as part of the larger picture. Second, the movie we went to see started 30 minutes late. It took more than 15 minutes for them to even acknowledge there was a problem. Not the end of the world, but annoying. The third problem is the one that really got me. A few minutes before the credits were going to roll, the janitors came in and started cleaning. This is a major no-no, as it pulled me all the way out of the movie, ruining the experience. Simply unacceptable. Moments later, again while the movie was still rolling, they handed out vouchers for starting late. While I appreciate the gesture, why could this not wait until we were leaving? In the end, there are, once again, too many problems for Marcus to be my movie theater of choice. This isnt the first negative experience Ive had at Marcus, but it will likely be my last.

Went to the theatre 2hrs in advance of show to buy reserved seats. Asked for 2 adjoining seats which Id specified by #. The clerk said those two were not adjoining and that would have a gap between them. Suggesting moving 1 seat over. "OK, she must have more accurate info than displayed in the online reservation map." Got into theatre well before the starting time of the show and found the seats assigned were NOT adjoining and that there was a gap between them. Went back to the ticketing countering, the guy now working there said "Just take the two seats adjoining, it wont be a problem." Approximately 2 minutes before the start of the movie two older women showed-up one "insisting" that she was assigned the seat we were told it would be OK to take. So we moved over to now the two seats nearest the wall... AFTER having choice of every seat in the theatre and making reservations two hours in advance we end-up with the worst seats in the place. This was my first time to this Marcus location and likely my last. If they cant even tell which seats are which from the front counter how can a customer tell by using the website or buying them in-person?

This has been my theater of choice for years but the experience I had at the Bistro tonight was disturbing. I ordered a simple burger meal and had to send it back twice because the order was not correct. When I got the burger the second time it looked as if the kitchen staff had washed it off, dried it with a towel to remove the sauce that shouldnt have been on it, and flopped it on a new bun. It was so unappealing, my boyfriend wouldnt even touch it. It looked disgusting. After the second time of returning my food because the order was still wrong, I decided to change my order, and that came out fine. When receiving our bill I was surprised they had the audacity to try and charge me for my meal. Not only did I have to send my food back twice, I wasnt eating until 20 min. after my boyfriend was finished with his meal. Not a single shred of customer service to accommodate for the inconvenience and mistakes on their part. After telling the waitress that this was not right, she agreed and went to a manager who then compd my meal. But why am I having to ask for that?? Not impressed, and I will never eat here again.

When we go to see a movie, 1-3 a month, we drive the 35 mins to go here without a second thought! Best theater house Ive been to....ever! Pay the extra 2 bucks for VIP seating-large side tables between every 2 seats, which are big & comfy and if youre on a date ~ the middle armrest folds up so you have a loveseat! The Big Screen Bistro is only 10 bucks-anytime-and has large, executive-style rolling chairs to eat & relax in! You can order anything from steak, pasta, & chicken dishes to Zaffiros amazing pizza & Guinness chocolate cake (this is for SERIOUS chocolate lovers!! Dont leave without trying it; worth every bite & then some!). Short on cash ~ you dont have to order fancy....you can order from the concession stand if youd like! A bucket of gourmet, white popcorn and a large soda coming right up! I used to only go to the theater a couple times a year to see big deal movies....but the Majestic changed all that. Movies big & small are worth the visit...& the drive!...to the Majestic Theater in Brookfield.
