Ive been going to this AMC Theater at Lake Square Mall for 15 yrs. Yes the older side has seen better years However, during the week until 6PM the prices are $4.50. Even if its at the old side that is still a bargain. Most have large screens, new side has stadium seats and both sides have an excellent sound system. Munchies are always great the popcorn is fresh and I love the garlic Parmesan pretzels and the Hotdogs. Lake Square Mall is having problems but I hope this theater hangs in there. Its close, convenient and I LOVE the matinee prices. Update 3/10/17. I moved out the area about 2 years ago. I went to se KONG Skull Island; at this theater and was blown away at the changes. Lazy_boy style seats, awesome sound. (I am hard of hearing) but I understood all the dialogue not from volume but by nice clear speakers. Great seats, excellent sound and visuals are great. I will go a little further to swing by here when seeing a movie

This Movie Theather Sucks The Mall Sucks And they wonder why they dont get any bussiness this is the worse movie theather & mall in the world they dont allow one year old in Rated R movies after 6pm they are one what are they suppose to understand they dont have a sign up that states that so you pay your money and than they tell you whats the difference before six and after six its still a Rated R movie..i will never pay another cent at this mall..they need to tear it down wait until they are done with Epic Theather in Mt.Dora they want have any business..dumb mall....this the only mall i know that have security standing in the theather.I WILL ADVISE ANYONE DO NOT GO TO THIS MOVIE THEATHER IT SUCKS

Love the upgrades in the theater, but I hate the remodeled concession stand. It was great when the attendants would prepare drinks and snacks in a little tray, but now drinks are filled at a self serve machine on the opposite side. This wouldnt be a problem if the line to the machine didnt form directly in the path of people entering and leaving the theater, and to top it off there is little to no shelving to place anything while filling a soda. I felt like some carnival juggler gathering all my stuff shlupping it from the concession stand to the soda machine and then to the theater. All this fun and I still have to pay over $20.00 for a large drink and popcorn.

My family and I went there last night to watch Star Trek: Beyond in 3D. The seats were disgusting. Especially in the upper middle section. It smelled like someone just peed all over the seats. There were popcorn pieces on the floor. The atmosphere was just stale. No fresh air or good smells. I felt so uncomfortable. I see them making all these changes to the mall itself but they cant update the other side of the theater, especially in the 3D section. It reminded me of why I hate going to the theater. That and the ridiculous concession stand prices. They seriously need to upgrade or at least hire a professional cleaning team for those disgusting seats and floors.

The renovations are nice, but they cut down on so many available seats in the theater. When I bring my monthly theater group (20-35 people), there are sometimes not enough seats available for the show that we want to see. We try to buy as many tickets as possible on-line (when the site works). The concession line takes much longer than it used to, and then you have to go and get on another line to get your own drinks and butter for your popcorn. Its amazing how many people are not capable of working the drink machine. It takes way too long before you even get in the theater. And now, of course, the prices have been raised to pay for the renovations.

My boyfriend took me today to see Logan as a late birthday present so when we bought our tickets we specified that our seats were in THE VERY BACK so after we sat down and were situated a little while later we had to move because a mom and two daughters claimed that those were their seats WE REPEATED THIS OVER FIVE TIMES with others being rude. THE THEATER WAS BETTER WITHOUT ASSIGNED SEATS SO THAT PEOPLE COULD ACTUALLY ENJOY WHAT THEY WERE GOING TO SEE AFTER THIS EXPERIENCE I WILL NEVER GO BACK TO THAT THEATER OR ANY OTHER!! IT WAS RIDICULOUS HAVING TO MOVE OVER FIVE TIMES OVER SEATS.

We cant believe what a transformation the AMC theater has undergone at Lake Square Mall. We went to the theater a few times years ago but really couldnt stand how tacky it was and stopped going. "Word of mouth" told us about the renovations so we decided to give it a try. WOW! What a wonderful update . Beautiful, comfortable, reclining leather chairs. All new carpeting in hallways and clean theaters. Plus, theyve added a new bar with premium alcohol. This will definitely be our "go to" theater and you cant beat the prices ( almost half the cost of The Villages).

Frustrating at times. Im well past the Rated R age of 17 but am always carded, sometimes multiple times by different employees, and even demanded that I return to my car for my license. I was late for our movie. Secondly, NO ONE follows the seating arrangement and theres never a staff member there to help with compliance. They might as well abolish assigned seating and go back to good ol first come, first serve seating. The upgraded chairs are nice, ticket prices are great but concessions prices are too high.

There are two sides to this theater, the old side (without stadium seating) and the new side (with stadium seating) On the old side they never have anyone taking your ticket, anyone could walk in and watch a movie for free. Also if your movie is on the old side, the concession stand is no longer open on that side so if you want popcorn or something to drink you have to go to the new side, buy your food, walk across the mall to the old side where your movie is playing. Ridiculous!!

The recliners are a cool feature, much more comfortable that typical theater seating. The theater was a little too hot for my taste. I noticed there were ceiling fans, but they werent on. The cost of food and drink is ridiculous. I understand that there is a mark-up on food & drink at a movie theater, but a 4000% mark-up is robbery. I would have been fine paying $7-10 for popcorn and a drink, but I wasnt pleased spending $60 for two tickets, a bowl of popcorn and a drink.

Edit: This theater is now very nice, they have remodeled it and it now has assigned seats that recline and a bar with drinks. No more smell so that is a big plus. Old review below: This place is a disgrace to movie theaters. It makes you never want visit one again. It smells so bad the health department should shut the place down. If I was AMC corporate I would either remodel or shut it down, because in its current state I would not have my name on the place.

its a sad day when your movie theater which has two separate sections cant afford to keep the concession stand open on both sides. I cant walk walk to the other section and then walk back. Why not put in at least a few vending machines on my side . ???? One section is still old , the movies do look okay and sound is fine however . Keep in mind they have good afternoon prices ( I think $ 6.00 _) but the pop corn and soda is somewhat high all day. .
