Sassy Cast
Last year, I sent you a message complaining about the lack of care the staff was taking at this facility, plus the rudeness overall of the staff and audience. You then sent me two passes. You told me the theater was undergoing a transition with management, and that things would improve. You asked me to give you a second chance. I did. Things have gotten worse. Much worse. On the night of May 24, 2013, my partner and I returned to the Inwood for the midnight viewing of The Room. Now before we continue, I realize this is an audience participation experience and it can get rowdy. We are not strangers to this rodeo. However what transpired this evening was unforgivable. Let me list why: 1) The theater screen had a massive hole in the bottom of it. It was like an annoying spaghetti stain on a white shirt. How could anyone not see it? And most of all, why is it not being fixed? On top of this, the chairs have tears, stains and holes in them, including the expensive love sacks in the main screen. Plus if that wasnt enough, the theater has a smell that I can best describe as Goodwill on a hot day. The lack of care in maintaining the theater shows. Hardcore. 2) A staff member walked into the aisles of the theater to have us show our tickets to him after we were seated. Why was there no one at the door to do this in the first place, like they usually do? Having the staff walk over us in the aisle to check for proof we belonged there was honestly kinda invasive. 3) There are a few scenes in this film where the characters toss around a football, which has inspired people to bring one. Due to an accident that happened in the past, before the screening of the film there is always a stern warning given by the management to not throw the football. Not tonight. The film just started...unexpectedly. Guess what? The football was thrown. At one point, it hit me in the back of the head. 4) The film is usually shown in the lounge theater area, which can seat more people. However, due to the release of Fast and the Furious 6, the film was moved to a smaller theater upstairs. This is fine, it actually makes the experience a bit more intimate. However, they oversold the film and had audience members sit in the staircase. Not only is this a fire hazard, but a safety hazard as people had to step over other people if they needed to go to the bathroom. It is obvious the staff does not care, a major complain I made the last time. However, the final complaint I am about to give here was the last straw: 5) It is also clear that the bartender at the lounge does not know when to cut off customers who had too much. The audience had people in there who were no different from drunken soccer hooligans. They got aggressive, fought with each other, and even got physical. By that I mean punching random strangers, including my partner. His arm hurt for a good 2 hours. That is how hard the drunk woman hit him. When people complained, it apparently fell upon deaf ears because it kept on. It visibly made some of the audience members uncomfortable, so they left. I now wish I would have as well. I honestly refuse to believe a movie chain owned by a multi-millionaire like Mark Cuban would allow one of his properties be run like this. You asked me to give you a second chance, and I did. You failed me. Last time you sent me free passes to make up for this. I dont want anything from you, except to not let this complaint go ignored. You have officially lost me and my partner as customers, and be aware we will spread the word to our friends as well. We will be taking our business to The Texas Theater and Alamo Drafthouse when it opens for fun midnight cinema and special events. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.

This theatre really is as good as it gets! We got a couple drinks in the lounge (the bartender looks like Zach Galafianakis), then saw "The Big Year" in the lovesac room. We were expecting the lovesac couches to be dirty quite frankly. Popcorn in the cushions, sticky from spilled drinks, etc. We were WAY off on that one! The couches were so CLEAN! And SO INCREDIBLY COMFORTABLE!!! We ended up laying there until the screen went totally off and the lights came on. So anyway, the movie was good, the couches were amazing, and the food/drinks and waitstaff were great too. This is the best movie theatre Ive been to in a long time. Oh, and the prices are comparable if not better than other theatres! Definitely a winner.

Growing up with the Inwood Theater was a huge, positive factor in determining my cultural tastes as an adult. The theatre now gets a good mix of mainstream and indie films and is often the only place to catch the latter for miles around. The midnight movies on Fridays and Saturdays are generally fantastic and lately theyve been doing showings of "The Room". I cant help but compare it to when I was an impressionable teen, during which time I saw Bottle Rocket, Following and City of Lost Children, among others, and hope that theyre still showing films of that caliber. Also note that the seating is LoveSacs instead of theatre chairs.

Greatest movie going experience of my life. The best part? No ads or commercial messages playing on the screen while youre waiting for the previews to start. I love movie previews, but I hate all of those commercials. It was so nice to be able to sit and talk to my wife before the movie began. The couches are totally awesome. At the end of the day, I dont even know if I actually liked the movie itself. I may have just enjoyed the theatre so much it overwhelmed me with cinematic love. I cant honestly see myself going anywhere else to watch movies from now on.

Great little theater! Shows new movies too but the gem is in the selection of older / other movies they show! Went to a midnight showing of Ikira, the theater was not what you expect! Sure there is a big screen but not the normal seating! It was comfy couches and love sacks! They had movable coasters that fit on the edge of the couch too. There was a lounge/bar inside I did not enter, but looked cozy and you can bring adult drinks into the showing! Would be a fun date night!

Love this theatre. I just wish they had more movies, but they typically do a good job at selecting current films. The screening lounge has couches and huge comfy chairs, pillows, and blankets. Watching movies here is a great experience, and tickets are cheaper/on par with what youd find at a big theater. Not sure how they select movies, but sometimes I cant go here because the movie I want to see isnt showing... and many times its the #1 movie out, so thats kinda confusing.

Está bien ubicado, fácil de encontrar, es concurrido... Pero necesita inversión, remodelación... Me agradó encontrar en este cine Caramel Corn Popcorn... Hehehe... Y disfruté las instalaciones...

Entertainment! In a word; but thats the nature of a theater. This place takes it up a notch, though, and has a staff of people that truly care about keeping you involved in the experience. I especially recommend their midnight screenings, and I especially especially recommend their seasonally themed screenings like the midnight Rocky Horror shows. Couches are the only option, so I hope you like being comfortable.
