Went to see Zootopia today. $26 for two adults and one child, for movie tickets. Food for three was $70. While it is a pricey day out, the whole experience is worth it. The menu has great choices, something for everyone. Appetizers, sandwiches, entrees, desserts, both non-alcoholic and alcoholic drinks. Prices are very reasonable for the great quality and very large portion size. We had tempura battered green beans (huge and yummy with mustard sauce), edamame steamed, burgers, chicken quesadilla (very large, stuffed with ingredients and tasty, and nutella beignets. Each item came plated nicely ready with small ramekins of sauce (ketchup, salsa, mustard, sour cream. The sandwiches come with your choice of side- regular fries, sweet potato fries, coleslaw. The food portions were large, hot, and great taste. Easily comparable or better than a sit down chain such as Fridays. The condition of the the theater is great. It was recently renovated and looks great. When purchasing your tickets you are presented with a touchscreen which displays a map of all seats in the theater. You get to select exactly where you want your seats. The theater is great. High back tilting cushion chairs. They have a swivel table and cup holder attached to each chair. There are extra wide aisles between each row of seats for legroom and easy access for the wait staff. The wait staff were pleasant, courteous, and quick. We didnt wait at all to order. It was a brief wait for food. Once the food came out we didnt see our waiter again except to receive the bill. Had we spilled something, needed extra napkins or had a food quality issue it would have been a challenge to get help. I would have given more than a 20% tip had we been checked on to ensure satisfaction, offer napkins or drink refills. On our way out of the theater an employee had a basket of after dinner mints. Nice touch. A bit more smiles would have been great. Happy customer experience= higher sales, better tips, repeat customers. My one star off is for the part which could have made it over the top. We have a ten year old child and so messy eating does occur (incidentally the nutella was all over her hands and pants, which we saw when the lights came on). It would be very helpful and more pleasant for families with kids (so any PG or G movies) if there was very dim lighting so that we could maneuver the food and keep track of our childs situation better. Also, the volume of the movie audio could be very slightly reduced for a more family friendly experience. We bring earplugs for our child because most theatres dont adjust the volume for family movies versus adult movies. In this case, it would be extra appropriate since meal time can present extra challenges. This is a fantastic idea and is worth the price for the total experience. It isnt cheap but is comparable to other family excursions like museums or theme parks.

My review based on my recent visit (4/17:2016) to Studio Movie Grill. Let me start of by saying I have been there a number of times since the remodel and have enjoyed the experience. However, my most recent experience was horrible. There was only 8 people total in the theater - which would lead you to believe that the service was great. It was just the opposite. The waitress took our order. We chose the two for $25.00 option. My wife and I ordered water with lemon and popcorn to start. She ordered the pizza and I ordered the coconut chicken fingers and sweet potato fries. The movie started and still no drinks or popcorn. More than 30 minutes into the movie and still nothing. They bring out our entrees. Her pizza was fine and my food was cold. Still no drinks. I ask the server to get the manager. Time goes on and still no drink and no manager. I finally get up and go out and ask for the manager. The server that took our order is who I ran into. I told her what was going on. She calls the manager. While waiting she goes and gets a water. I tell her we ordered two and she actually asked me if I wanted another one. So Im standing there waiting on the manager while missing my movie. Several minutes later the manager showed up. I explain what has happened. He of course apologized and said Ill get this taken care of and I will be here when you get out of your movie and you will leave here happy. So Im thinking good. The service will get better and I can enjoy the rest of the movie. Wrong! 15 minutes later I finally get my popcorn and water. Several minutes later someone else comes around with two more glasses of water which we didnt need. The movie is almost over. They never brought me my meal. The waitress come by and gives us the check and said the manager took care of it. Well great. He took care of having us not pay for food we didnt get. We leave the theatre and Im fully expecting the manager to be out there waiting as he said he would be. Guess what? He wasnt there. By now Im tired of waiting incompetence so we head to the exit. As we are about to leave I stop by the ticket counter and infirm the girl that I spoke with the manager and that he said I would be happy when I left. I told her I was not happy that the service sucked and I never got my food. I then left her my business card. I held off writing this review until this evening because I wanted to give the manager a chance to contact me. Well its almost 7:30pm and he has not called or emailed me. He could have walked across the parking lot to my office but he didnt do that either. I am very disappointed in the service or lack there of that we received. Im really going to have to think hard about if I will give them a second chance.

The staff didnt greet us when we walked up to the counter, they were too interested in their own conversation. they didnt tell us where our theatre was located, they told us at the entrance of the movie that it would be 5min due to cleaning, 5 min later they said they still werent done. So we didnt enter the theatre until the previews had already started. We ordered the 2 for 25 combo and thought it came with dessert, we later found out it didnt, when we asked for it. Our COLD entreés arrived before our COLD appetizers and our drinks. The drinks arrived 10-15min later and the margarita with Patrón I ordered did not taste like it had patrón, in fact it was so sour I had to send it back because I couldnt choke it down, I had the drink switched out (another 20min wait) and they had the audacity to still charge me for that disgusting margarita so I had to ask for it to be taken off the bill since I couldnt consume it. Our waiting staff switched up so much we couldnt keep up. A different person came every time we pushed our button even though the first guy told us he would be our server for the night, we never saw him again. Also they would never ask "would you like anything else?" So they would walk off when we did in fact need something else. Most of the servers had an attitude. When the lady brought out check back with the drink taken off, she reached across from the aisle in front of us instead of walking around which I felt was disrespectful and lazy. Honestly I wanted my money back, the entire experience was terrible. Im never going to a studio movie grill again because 4 out of 5 of the ones Ive been to have been a bad experience. None of them have the same standard of Service. The whole company needs to get it together
