We get here about 10 minutes early to grab some snacks, there happens to be about 50-60 kids at the theater from a local summer camp. They had two lines so we get into one, nobody said a word to us so after 3 minutes or so I stepped up and asked if we could order, a theater lady asked why were we not in line. I told her that we were, she then pointed to the line to the right of us and said that is the line we should be in- about 20 camp kids deep. I told her our movie started in 9 minutes and that the line was too long to get through because of the quantity of camp kids and then she told me "well it wasnt that long when you got here." I told her again we we wouldnt get through the line and that we were not upset about the kids, I understood lots of kids because Im a teacher and my class and I have done the same thing (plus I was a camp counselor for the same summer program that was at the theater). And since nobody directed us to a specific line and there was no sign we just guessed and got into a line. It is the theaters job to get their customers through, they only had ONE line open. Duh! So she begrudgingly let us order. Then we head to the movie right on time, I notice the outside sign says 47 Meters. I head outside and double check with a theater attendant and she assures me Im in the right theater. About 10:12 AM the previews begin. Guns, sex, murder, running over police officers !!! Parents and their kids start to flood out of the theater, we go to complain that it can not be the right theater. They insist it is, the same rude conssesion stand lady is now on a radio with another theater employee and they go and check out what over 15 people are saying, sure enough wrong movie. They scarmbled and moved us to another theater. Im quite sure they did not mean to show little kids all that garbage. 30 minutes later the cartoon has finally started. Awful customer service for high priced snacks and then accidentally showing garbage to kids- I will go and spend my money elsewhere.

Always love coming here and never ever encountered any issues with staff, except for the last time i came and some girl i was buying tickets off of was being rude, and made paying for a few tickets complicated. She apperantly couldnt sell rated R tickets to a 20 year old, and was just straight up killing my vibe. Dont know if i want to come back if customer service like this is okay.

This is a cute Cinema experience. Very clean, accessible and quaint. Nestled in the boutiques of downtown Salinas. This is a delightful experience if you have not gone. They show a lot of the mainstream films and cycle through them to keep everything current. Friendly Associates, and an overall good time!

The best theater in the entire Monterey County! The service was great, the popcorn was yum, the sound system was banging, the seats comfy. I met the manager Brittney and she was very helpful and nice. Ill never go to any other theater around here again.

Often dirty. Staff never tends to theaters. Lots of loud talking, cell phone use, and other distractions which are never dealt with, even if a complaint is made. The least bad of only two theaters in town, which is a shame, since it could be so much better.

Mayas a great place. They offer parking validation, and the seats are super comfy. Tonight I took off a star because they were out of soap in the bathroom (in 4 sinks) and at the back food concession booth, the butter wasnt working, and there was no ice.

Its spacious, clean and the auditoriums are beautiful as well. You cant beat the crying rooms that parents can still go to the movies and use it to their advantage while not making it a dreadful experience to the other movie goers.

Offers mpx, dolby atmos, family specials, and parking in the structure is free when once they validate your ticket. Always clean. The food id expensive, buy all theatres food is. Tuesday is the best day to go, the discount is great

Maya Cinema is a very clean and hospital theatre. I love their special seats and those special days... Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Oh and here you can order herbal tea that is brewed fresh cold or hot. <3

Clean and polite employees. The seats were uncomfortable, but very few theaters have the luxury seating. When with our toddler and she loved it. Thats whats most important to me after clean and kind.

My favorite movie theater anywhere. Always a good experience, and the moviegoers are typically well behaved. I have been a fan since they opened and recommend it over the Northridge theater any day.

Great theater and they are it the process of upgrading all of the rooms. Comfortable seating in the upgraded rooms, they are leather, #14. Looks also like there might be USB charging ports.

Although the choice of movies has improved, somewhat. The problem persists with poor sound insulation. This allows sound from one movie theater to cross over into the movie your watching.

I drive all the way from Marina once or twice a week to watch movies there. Prices are very reasonable and very Senior friendly. Four dollars on Wednesdays. I love this place.

I love the independent cinema experience. And a great location, near parking and eateries. Oldtown Salinas is a good place to visit, and the Maya is a good reason to go.

I wish I could come here more often because its a really nice place there always so nice , However they dont carry kettle corn popcorn which is a bummer :/

We go there every Tuesday for family discount night. Now friendly kids working there. Saw my wifes fiat 3D movie the other day. Highly recommend it.

The theater is nice and clean. The have a variety of screen sizes and sound systems. Thus far I have never seen the theater packed, which I prefer.
