I love the Plaza Theater, even though they show some horrendously Violent Hollywood Crap. They do show some decent Comedy Film. I think they should focus on that. They would get a lot more business even if they are Dated Films like old Woody Allen Films, George Seigle Movies, etc.. Hollywood is now more Brutal and Savage than ever. People get way too many Lies and Too Much Violence in their Flesh Foods, Corp. TV (Idiot Boxes), Corp. Radio, Idiot Phones, Corp. Newspapers (P.P. & Star: No wonder it is called the P.P.), & Corp. Flesh Foods. Please tell The Plaza, we need more Thoughtful Film Documentaries like "Cowspiracy", "Sicko", "Forks Over Knives" and of course more Comedy, etc. All of us can use laughter in this brutal World. In Genisis 1:29, says that "The Fruit of The Tree and Plants of the Ground shall be thy Meat." Go Strictly Vegetarian & Get Pets To Do The Same. All of Us Can Live Much Kinder, Healthier Longer Lives without Eating the Tortured Flesh of The Innocent. Veggie Burgers, Veggie Hot Dogs & Veggie Chicn Patties Fired Crispy on the Outside. They taste Way Better then The Flesh Blood & Sewage Versions. Avaiable at Cub, Target, Trader Joes and Walmart in the Frozen Health Food Sections.

My grandfather was killed in a freak Movie Theater Butter explosion, and I have not been able to set foot in a movie theater since. I remember the smell of burnt flesh and steaming, hot, buttery goodness all over the place... it was truly a grim day. No matter how hard I tried or what movie was out I could not get myself to set foot in a theater. One day, however, I saw the sign for a $3 movie. I couldnt believe the price, it had to be too good to be true, but the new Star Wars was playing and, well, Grandpa loved his R2D2. So I got up the nerve to go in. I was completely shocked. Not only was the price really as low as they had claimed, but the Butter Squirter was behind blast proof glass. These are people that really care about their customers. The Plaza puts your safety first and doesnt go overboard to turn a massive profit, just a modest living. I would highly recommend The Plaza for all theater goers, safety conscious or not.

Compared to Oakdale Marcus or Carmike this place wont blow you away, but with a new renovated interior and screening rooms, along with $3 movies its a nice alternative to the overly expensive traditional theatres. The Plaza is small and has only two screening rooms showing movies that have been in traditional theatres for at least a month, but thats the only way they can offer such great prices. Overall friendly service and good snack stand. Decent seats although theyre all at a height of the front row seats and a traditional theatre no matter how far back you go so youre always looking up a little but it isnt bad. If youre expecting seats like the Oakdale Marcus dream loungers youre out of luck. The seats are comfortable since they renovated the place, but nothing special

I have never been there but like the Water Diviner I am able to discern the truth from the subtlest of clues. I can tell you this much, it is not the Cathedral of Notre Dame yet, neither is it Dachau. I do believe that the proprietors care, maybe not about the theater but they care deeply about...um...ah...hard to tell...but I see a spatula, if that helps. The important thing is to support local businesses since 99% of their revenues go to taxes, utilities, loan payment, wages, film acquisition, bribing city council members and meth. If 3 people a week sneak in their own snacks they must turn off the hot water. Overall I get a very good impression from the Pizza Theater here in Houghton and I hope you will attend soon. Try the baked Phlini! Its made with real Yak.

This is a great "cheap theater". I mean, Its still a cheap theater (no 3D movies or electronic reclining seats), but for $3 a movie, almost 5 stars! The only two drawbacks are the service at the snack counter could be quicker, and I havent loved the popcorn (not bad but I dont know... less flavorful or crunchy?). Other than that, the staff is friendly, they keep it clean, the theater equipment is good quality and the seats are comfortable (just plain old 90s foam folding theater seats, but a few of them are love seats which is cool!) The parking lot is big. With only two screens sometimes its hard to find a time to get to the movie you want to see, but usually the best movies are at night.

This place is fantastic--so glad its in my neighborhood! My understanding from a conversation my husband had with someone working there is that the church next door owns it and uses it as an outreach to hire and provide job training to people who can use it. Wonderful mission and excellent service! They let you get a free refill on your drink...do other theaters do that? (I wouldnt know, because once I buy a ticket at a normal theater I cant afford additional concessions). They also provide flavor powders (i.e. cheddar, white cheddar, etc.) to sprinkle over your popcorn if you desire it. Very nice.

Brought my son to How to Train Your Dragon 2. I havent been there in years and Im so glad they finally renovated. The chairs are no longer falling apart and its turned out really nice. The popcorn/pop deal was only like $6 so the whole night out only cost us $10!! Thats cheaper than one ticket at a normal theater. Cant wait till they get more movies in as I will be going MANY TIMES this winter :)

I love this little gem on the east side of St. Paul. The theater supports my school as well. I cant say how nice it is to have a place to go for an expensive date. This is a rare thing indeed. The prices for refreshments is reasonable too! They are more in line with the actual cost of materials as compared with the big theaters. People need to check this theater out!!!!

Is it small? Yes. Does it have less than four theaters? Yes. Does it have a amazing popcorn and other snacks? Yes. The movies they play are movies that you might not be able to watch in bigger, fancier theaters. So imagine that you want to watch a movie, but all of the theaters arent showing it anymore. Sad, right? Well, this theater has your back!

This is a wonderful place. The theater does a great job on sound and the picture is bright and enjoyable. Tickets are unbelievably cheap and the treats are reasonably priced. We really enjoy going here. for a couple with a large soda and late popcorn total bill is about $12! I highly recommend this theater!

I mean, can you beat $2 Tuesdays? You cant. And they have the cheapest concessions in Minnesota, so theres that. Its family-friendly too, so we love taking our kids there. And if the kids get rowdy, theres a church right next door that we can send them to to get their act together (kidding!... kind of;).

The Plaza is great! They always are a good deal, and I dont know anywhere else where you can find REAL BUTTER on the popcorn. I like the remodel that was done, which doesnt encourage kids to hang out in the lobby. Still the best deal, and you can catch the movies you missed at the other cinemas.
