Shame on the Palace Theater for not monitoring the sound levels during 2 recent Christian concerts at their venue!!! The Newsboys concert was so loud and the bass so high that you could feel the vibration all the way across the lobby through closed auditorium doors and behind the restroom door near the exit. Very, very painful to the ears and resulted in high- pitched ringing that continues to this day. When I personally visited the asst.manager at the box office last week regarding this he said nobody else has complained.I was seeking a refund for the Third Day tickets I had purchased at the same time as Newboys. I was told I had to deal with Ticketmaster which never returned my emails.Fearing I would lose all money,we took a chance to attend Third Day. As soon as the band took the stage the sound blared and the bass cranked up at a very, very uncomfortable level. We left right away.I have attended rock concerts before and understand that these are by nature loud events but I genuinely fear that the Palace Theater is contributing to the epidemic of hearing loss in our country by their irresponsible lack of monitoring. Many young people were in attendance at these concerts and will prematurely lose their God-given sense of hearing if this continues.

Saw Ghost there last night (6.6.17) and not only was the band incredible but the venue was gorgeous. Extremely easy to get to, tons of very close free parking, The staff was extremely friendly and knowledgeable and they actually cater to smokers by allowing people to exit the side of the building into a roped off area to smoke. Of course we had to deal with drunk idiots and people standing up right in front of us when everyone else is sitting but thats no fault of the venues thats a typical concert. Overall 5 stars for the venue, location and ease of getting in and out. I will definitely be back!

Beautiful classic theater. Rivals upscale theaters in New York and Boston that Ive been to. There is much more seats than I expected. I sat front balcony and had no complaints of the view. We saw a comedy show and the sound was good but I cant comment on the acoustics for a concert or musical. Entry and egress was very smooth and easy. Plenty of restaurants (although most require reservations during show nights) in the area and there is a parking garage one block away that has free parking during show times.

Spent 12 hours at a dance competition hundreds of kids and parents and if you want to eat you have purchase the crappy food they have which by the way is outrageously priced. Oh but, wait the food stand closes down right at dinner time and guess what you can not bring outside food in not even into the lobby so all the kids that have been dancing all day and need to eat can not because we can not bring food in so they can eat. So now,we cant feed our kids till 11pm. 0 stars for this joke of a place.

I am biased. I love classic theatres. Where it is not simply a box with seats in it. This Theatre is nothing like a box. And Even better it transport you to a different time, so whatever you are seeing is enhanced into a real experience. Everyone I encountered working there was nice and helpful. The one event I attended, well it was a pretty decent crowd. I traveled from Rochester, to Albany to see Eddie Izzard. Definitely worth the trip.

An Albany landmark, the Palace Theatre features an old school theatre with excellent architecture with some modern features. The theatre still lacks many modern features that newer theatres have today. The prices for the shows a very fair and nothing is too terribly overpriced. The Palace often gets several well known performers every year.

Ticket prices were reasonable, actually amazing, considering how small the venue was. I got really close and spent less than $100. Wouldve been a better deal if the Ticketmaster fees werent outrageous. The venue has a huge selection of beer and hard cider, lemonade, etc. I really love this place. Very cute

I have loved every minute I have spent in this theater. The acts they book are contemporary and interesting. The inside is beautiful, they dont charge too too much like at some other theaters. I think all of the seats have good views, so you can choose to sit farther away and save money on your ticket.

Growing up in albany, the Palace has always been a destination for the family. Now that I have children, I find it hasnt lost any of its appeal. Such a wonderful place to see a concert or production. They still draw big acts too, probably because the artists love the place too

Great old style theater. Saw the Experience Hendrix show and loved it!!! Not bad seat in the house. The theater is located near some great pubs and it has plenty of parking around it. Good beer selection and quality acoustics were a plus. Ill definitely be back!!!

Went to see Dream Theater here and had seats at the front of the balcony. It was a great experience. The interior is beautiful, and the balcony felt awesome and gave a great view. Sitting down for a metal concert felt weird, but ultimately was pretty cool.

This was a surprisingly nice theatre inside. All seats seemed to have decent views of the stage but it was hard to make out details from the back of the balcony. Seats were comfortable. Popcorn and candy were available for purchase.

Been here for two shows. Ray Lamontagne and 3 doors down. The sound quality is awesome. Its beautiful theatre. The valet parking situation is ok. Id rather drive 90 minutes to Albany to see a show, then 90 minutes to NYC.

Worst venue ever. The box office is closed the moment the show starts. So we were there a bit after the shows door opened and they turned us away although half of the venue was empty.

This is absolute best place to see a concert. It resembles the Stanley theatre in Utica NY. Every seat is a good seat. Nice lobby. The staff pretty much leaves you alone.

Always amazing, the architecture and old world feel of this small venue always delightful. From Inxs to comics, movies to dance recitals just a great little theater
