Listen...Ive seen a lot of shows in my time. Too many to count, but if youre counting...its like 532. And the most important part of ANY show isnt whos playing, how they sound, who youre with, or any of that. Trust me when I tell you, the VENUE defines the show. An amazing venue can make the worst sounding pile of crap enjoyable, and a terrible venue can ruin a perfect performance. And to be honest, there about 10 time more venues than I hate than ones I love. Im pretty picky I think, and at this point in my life I rarely find a venue that makes it to the top of the list. The Capitol Theatre did, and does...and is. Everything from the location of the place, the lobby, the layout of the bars, the fancy staircases and chandelier, literally...everything makes this place awesome. Staff was some of the friendliest Ive ever dealt with, drinks were well made and reasonably priced, even the parking was awesome. Of course, the 2 most important things about a venue are the views and the sounds. Granted, I was only here once, and it was an acoustic show...but we did enough roaming around to get a good feel for the sound. And it was amazing, everywhere. Same with the views. We were in row 5 on the floor, so...obviously good view there. But we went up to the few of the balconies and higher seats and literally couldnt find a bad seat in the house. The place has like an amazing old world charm, and its really one not to be missed. If you ever get the opportunity to experience it, Id suggest you jump at it. And if you decide to create yourself an opportunity...then even better!

I just saw Little Feat the other night; one of my all time favorite bands. They were great but the sound system to me was very disappointing. The instruments sounded fine but the voices/words did not. I know every word to almost every song and I could understand maybe every 5 word, said or sung. When Paul Berrere was speaking I could barely make out what he was talking about. I asked the people next to me and they couldnt tell me what he said either. Same when they were singing. I dont know if this was an off night for the sound guys or what but I was disappointed. Everything else about the Capital is great except maybe for the bathrooms but I can handle that because of the old time ambiance and architecture.

Could not be happier about the service we received and the environment of this theatre. My girlfriend and I went for the first time May 11th. We ordered general admission not knowing we would be standing. We are both short so it was unfortunate we could not see the whole band from anywhere but up top. This is normal for us as avid concert goers. The usher Amanda was extremely sweet and let us down until those ticket holders came. It was extremely nice. From start to finish every employee was helpful and seem to enjoy their place of business! Thank you Capital Theatre for an awesome experience, I will definitely be back!

My 1st Dead show was there 41 years ago (Feb. 71) ....great show. The Capitol was old and run down (like The Fillmore)....great for the times. Just saw a couple of shows for Phil and Friends at the newly reopened, beautifully renovated Capitol Theatre. Definitely the best show Ive ever seen( trust me, Ive seen Lesh many, many time over the past 41 years). The music was awesome and you could see the band enjoy the intimacy of the room. The Theatre....awesome, outstanding job on the renovation. The Theatre and all staff was very friendly and accommodating. Looks like some good shows coming up, Ill be there.

One of the best restored theatres in Westchester, featuring many wonderful & varied live performers in a fun yet intimate setting- Beacon Theatre style but smaller. Theres full bar service on both seating levels- a mezzanine/loge area of upper, assigned seating (boasting great views of the stage) & the downstairs is usually general admission style, but also sometimes is set up for seated tickets. All of the staff (security/bartenders/ushers/support) are very professional/courteous & its an all around great venue for live events, usually very reasonably priced.

Literally the worst experience Ive ever had at a venue. My boyfriend was attacked by another man in the crowd, for "being in his spot" (there are no seats), and we were both thrown out before the second song. Not my problem this man was angry, but apparently we were still unworthy of seeing the show. Drove two hours, got a hotel room, and paid for tickets, but the capitol theater cant do anything for us. Venue was beautiful but the staff is not concerned for anyones safety.

Im sure its a great venue, but Im rating their customer service staff today which was inept. Last evening I had tickets to Steely Dan and after providing the staff with about 8 different means of identification, they couldnt tell me where my tickets were. Tickets were not sent to my home and nobody was able to tell me if they were held at the box office. Client Service disfunction at its worst. Perhaps they were trained over at Sears.

Tickets are never available when they go on sale, but are miraculously on private websites such as stub hub for double or triple the cost. Not only can you never find tickets when they go on sale, but they ae available on the these before mentioned private sites even before public on sale dates or even prior to pre sales! The public is being taken advantage of and private companies and the venue are benefiting.

We took our son, who is in a power wheelchair, to the Capitol. Very disappointing experience. We were squeezed in between rows which made for a very uncomfortable show. Would not recommend this place if you are wheelchair bound. Our first experience there was great, but this time my son felt like a burden to everyone. I wish I could write a glowing review, but find it impossible.

Love this venue. Great room to hear music, acoustics are one of the best in the country. Love how there are no seats on the floor so you can just hang with as many friends as you like. Just invite everyone, doesnt matter that you dont buy tickets together as long as they are all floor GA. A great party, great bars, very mellow, friendly and courteous staff. Just the best!

Went to a Tame Impala Concert, must say security was way too anal at this theater. They were constantly stopping people who were trying to smoke, they also were very intrusive with deleting any photos or videos you took during the concert, and they searched you at the entrance like TSA. I expect a little more accommodation considering how much I spent to see the concert.

One of NYs Greatest Venues in the burbs! Restored to its glory and man has it delivered! Boasting the best line ups around. Drinks are reasonably priced (as concert venues go) and theres even waitress service to some areas. Steps from the Metro North train station makes this super convenient from anywhere! Head to Garcias for the post show concert too!
