I am A huge movie buff. One of my favorite things to do is go out and watch a movie. I am very particular as to how a theater should operate, to have a good movie experience, and Capitol 8 does not disappoint! I frequently visit iMaxs and other large theaters and I must say the Capitol 8 in Madisonville is one of my favorites to visit. The staff are always very friendly. The facility is very clean and well kept. Most of all I love the the show rooms; very large, the sound quality is top notch and the temperature is always just right! I live closer to another theater in Owensboro, KY but I make the extra distance just to come to Capitol 8! Thanks everyone, keep up the awesome work.

i have not been back here since they took over. Employee got very rude and smart with me. Also they want to charge WAY TOO MUCH for TICKETS and FOOD ITEMS. The same candy there you can get at dollar tree for 99% less. I will not be going back. Theater is always Hot, Smells bad, Employee tried to keep my change of like $7.00 and when i mentioned it she got rude and disrespectful slung the change at me.

Its clean, but the seats arent as comfortable as the Henderson theater. The staff for the most part is friendly. Seems to be short staffed as the lines are long and slow and often make you late to be seated by your show time so go early. As far as the popcorn it isnt really consistent; sometimes its really good and other it taste old and they constantly seem to switch the butter topping.

This theater has a number of problems with picture and sound. while the staff is polite and they try to be helpful, the projection equipment is in need of repair. I dont know if they have a full time projectionist but I doubt it and they need one to watch the equipment on a constant basis.

I stopped going to this theater for a while because of all their problems. I went back this past summer and everything was fine. Now they are back to having the same old problems. I dont think the people they hire to maintain the place know anything about the equipment.

Fill your own drinks, butter your own popcorn. Picture quality is sometimes good sometimes not so much. Sound system is awful. The speakers on the wall are just for decoration. Sometimes dont even turn the seating lights off. Save your money and rent or stream a movie.

It sucks that they never have people on the ticket booth, you have to proceed directly "for your convenience" to the concession counter and wait in line, even if you are not gonna buy anything else, it took me 25 minutes and was already late for the movie,

I waited in line to order a soda. They gave me a cup and I had to wait in anotherinexpensive to fill my cup with soda. This theater only has 1 soda machine at this time. I went in to watch the movie and the theater smells really bad.( like wet and musty)

The movie Dunkirk is a total waste of money and time no good.... Popcorn 7.00 cold and old I want a refund of 27.35 and on top of that they didnt want to give me my change back was going to keep 5.00 for a tip I guess but found out wrong...

We go when we cant get to Henderson or Evansville and the people are great. The theater is small and I do not choose the 3D as there is no impact in that venue. Clean and NOTE you can buy tickets at the popcorn stand if the line is long FYI

Very good theatre. Large selection of movies in both 3D and 2D. Clean and new, with helpful staff. The snacks are on the expensive side. Other than that i believe its worth my 45 minute travel to visit it.

Compared to Evansville theaters which I prefer, it has a much smaller screen and it isnt curved. On a positive note, 4 pm shows are $5.75 daily and Tuesdays food and drinks are under $3 for small sizes.

we are a family of 6, and love movies. I just hate the fact if and when we go, the cost of tickets plus food, is easily $100.00. Its just ridiculous the prices.

My family and I have sincerely enjoyed this movie theater because the areas are clean and very well maintained, the popcorn is hot, and the staff is friendly.

Think there seats arent as nice as Henderson. Kinda wish the arm rest would come up instead of not move at all. Makes it hard to hold your ladies hand.

They have always had good movies and the staff is friendly. Plus on tues and weds they have free kids movies at 10am.
