I used to go the Logan Movie Theatre when I was in elementary school and high school since I grew up in the neighborhood just off the Logan Boulevard. It has definitely come a long way from when I used to go here. Despite the renovations, it has maintained some, but not all, of the Art Deco and charm. However, most of the Art Deco has been removed when it was renovated a long time ago. The seats are comfortable and spacious with plenty of leg room in front. This theater offers versatility in terms of movie choices. In some cases, the movie may be playing at "limited" theaters, and this theater is almost always the one showing a "limited" movie release. I appreciate this for sure! The movie theater is nice and clean. There is street parking only, which can be challenging for an evening movie. However, we noticed that it is easier to find parking for their matinee movies versus their evening movies. The concession stand and area is spacious with large glass windows, albeit pricey, but if you can sneak in some candy, do. There are also several good restaurants walking distance to the movie theater, so I recommend you grab a bite before or after the movie. If you are in a hurry and do not have time for a sit down 2-hour dinner you can always grab a burger or salad at the McDonalds across the street and down a half-block. The movie theater is also very, very close to the CTA Blue Line, so if you prefer public transportation it is easy to reach via the Blue Line or even the Milwaukee Avenue CTA bus. Although I no longer live in the Logan Square neighborhood, we still come to the Logan Movie Theatre and hit up a good restaurant in the area (so many great choices on Milwaukee Avenue as well as Kedzie Ave). There is a fantastic Cuban restaurant on Pulaski and Wrightwood, "El Cubanito" which is only 10-15 minutes from the movie theater (delicious Cuban steak sandwiches). For all of the above reasons, I rate the Logan Theatre with four stars.

As a kid I used to frequent the Logan Theatre. It is where I first saw Star Wars, Jaws, Carrie and pretty much every movie of that era. Unfortuntetly, just as the neighborhood itself, Logan Theater fell into disrepair. It became a place you wanted to avoid. I was very happy to hear that it had been bought by a local developer and completely renovated. And what a renovation. This theater is beautiful. It is a great place to watch a movie now that your feet wont stick to the floor and your seat wont fall apart as you lean back. The sounds is great too. I specially like the having a drink at the beautiful new bar/lounge. Very classy you can even take your drinks into the movie. The prices are very reasonable.

This place is such a gem to have in Logan Square! I visited once before the renovation and it was still OK, but now its such a fantastic spot for way more than just seeing a moving. The theater now is excellent, and I see people hanging out at the bar during the week for trivia. I love seeing the Logan sign all lit up. Ive also read that the theater has always been a family business, which makes it even more endearing. Its also definitely driving the rehab to Milwaukee ave on the North side of Kedzie Blvd. Since/ during the renovation of the theater so many new spots have popped up and I think the Logan is a great focal point for it all. Best theater.

I love the update to this old classic cinema in Logan Square. When I lived there it was pretty run down. Now with the lounge and full bar its rather posh yet not alienating. They did a great job on the interior. Its a place you want to visit. Ive seen several movies there but what I really enjoy are the repertory screenings they schedule every week. Bonus for those in 35mm. The only downside is that for the late night flicks and cult movies, there is often a lot of crowd activity (getting up to use the restroom) because everyone is drinking booze. Not a big deal for those movies but something you should know if youre planning to attend any.

This is a great local movie theater that has been around since 1915, and they have done a great job honoring their history by keeping the architecture reminiscent of that time, with a little art deco thrown in. They have a concession and bar that make you feel like youre in a bar or restaurant as opposed to the typical, huge, over-the-top concessions that every other theater has today. They play a nice variety of indy films, mid-run films, and local films - providing something for everyone. And bonus: their staff is really friendly and helpful. This place is a classic and a wonderful experience. Check them out.

My first priority when it comes to movie theaters is price. In this area, its hard to beat Logan. Second, movie watching experience. At the Logan, seats are comfortable and do not distract from the movie. Sound and picture quality is solid. Its not IMAX--but you knew that already, didnt you? Cleanliness is third on my list. The Logan used to be kind of a dive but since the remodel I have always felt comfortable here. Concessions are solid and as youd expect from any theater. Dont expect a meal though. This IS NOT one of those $18 per ticket theaters. And that, really, is why I love watching movies here.

I saw Star Wars: The Force Awakens here. Ticket pricing here is good at $8.50 a ticket and the service is on par with what I expect from a theater. The theater orientation is that of older theaters as the screen is about 30 feet diagonally with seating arranged in a rectangle on a slight incline leading down to the screen. Not as good an experience as an AMC Theater. You can tell from the style of the place that its pretty old and so there also is no modern sound system with sensible bass. All in all a good viewing experience but you can get a better one at the same price at other newer theaters.

Now that this place has been renovated, it holds much more appeal. I saw The Shining there, which was my first time on a movie screen, and I was so excited! Unfortunately it was played on a DVD so the quality was not where it should be, but the fact that they played it at all made up for that a little. Its much nicer looking than it was before and although I havent gone to the bar, it seems like a chill vibe in there. Not too far from the blue line, so easy to get to. Little bars and cafe around for before or after a showing. Ill keep an eye on their programming and wont hesitate to go back.

Recently renovated from an old theather of cheap prices, this location went from the ditch of lonelyness into a booming location to catch a picture with your mates or to have food and a drink. Not only does this have new pictures, but classics by request! You can actually relax and not step into gum in the floor. The seats are reletively comfortable and you can actually LAY BACK instead of stiting up straight from opposed to hard leather seats. The food has actually gotten better, with less salt and a variaty of drinks. You can also order pizza, now. A theater and a little cafe!
