Ive been to this theater countless times in the past few years, and have only had one issue prior to tonight. Previously, I visited to see Godzilla well after it came out and they had technical difficulties with the audio, during which they stopped the movie, asked the crowd to switch theaters, and swiftly gave out movie vouchers outside of the theater doors when the movie was over. Same issue this time, drastically different response. I came to see Civil War on opening night, having bought tickets weeks in advance. 15 minutes into the movie, the audio went out. Instead of stopping the film, the movie continued without audio for about 5 minutes during crucial plot set ups. Why the movie wasnt just stopped is a mystery. After another 5 minutes of staring at a bright green screen, a young manager nervously told the crowd that they are experiencing technical difficulties (duh) but did thank us for our patience. Right after this, the movie started completely over with audio throughout. That is, until the final credits started rolling, and the audio went back to the pre-movie audio promotion. Anyone whos even remotely a Marvel fan knows there is a special scene after the credits, so the crowd was again in uproar when they realized they would play the scene without the audio. As a manager was walking up the steps towards the back door, he was asked to put the audio back on, to which he shrugged, "movies over" before scuffling through the back door. And so the scene had no audio. THEN, as the crowd left the theater and headed toward the line for customer service, we were directed to not form a line because it would cause a "fire hazard", but an alternative was not offered. It also seemed they were taking their time handing out vouchers to those in front of the customer service desk, possibly as to discourage others for waiting for their compensation. What a major disappointment. It was a huge distraction, especially for the fans who come to see the movie on opening night. Now, while a managers apology in response to this review is appreciated, I would even more so appreciate an answer as to what caused the "technical difficulties", or at least why the issue wasnt handled more swiftly. If the response is understandable, I may give this theater another shot. Otherwise, youve lost yourself a group of loyal customers.

The service we got at concessions tonight was awful. The first time we went up, the guy said that they didnt have popcorn, and that was it. We walked away and were playing some arcade games and we saw people getting popcorn. So we walked back over, and for some reason they were very behind on making popcorn, and people were ordering it faster than they could make it. The next cashier we got said that we could have popcorn but there would be a 5 minute wait. The first guy could have told us this, we would have waited, rather than having to get back in line a second time. THEN halfway through the movie, we ran out there to get candy. I got in one of the lines, and while I was waiting, they cashier just disappeared and never returned. The other customers and I decided he wasnt coming back, so we all moved to another line. There were 3 lines total, all of which were pretty long, and several employees behind the counter, doing things like restocking bags and cups. Then the cashier for the new line I was in just disappeared! At this point, all the customers waiting were getting upset, because we had to move to yet ANOTHER line, which at this point was extremely long. Mind you, Im in the middle of my movie! I thought I was just going to quick run out and get candy for my kids and run back in! It was so maddening. Also, This theaters tickets were $5 more than the other theaters! We ended up still going to this one because its close to our house and parking is much cheaper than downtown, and the show we wanted was sold out at Webster place. But we paid $5 more for our movie PER TICKET to get super crappy service. It was very disappointing.

The biggest pro to this place is the parking. You cant really beat $2 parking for a movie anywhere in the city and its parking places around there you can even park for free. Its also a pretty good place for little kids with the arcade being inside. I came recently for a screening and there were a few kids waiting in line with their parents so the arcade gave them time to waste. Self serve soda machine is also awesome (its the little things). And then you have the small cramped theaters. That really REALLY pulls this place down. Im 62 and while thats not extremely tall, I felt like I was sitting in the middle seat of a plane. Its really no where to move at all. Theater was a little unclean as well. Id complain about the price but I feel like all movies are overpriced. With a few touches here and there, it wouldnt be so bad. But it really sucks when the best part about the place happens outside the theater.

I think its fine, not clean, but not unusually filthy. The usual level of overpriced. I saw a sign that said $6.50 all day Tuesday, which, if true, could be huge and is worth checking out. Full range of basic movie food. Cool soda machines from which you can pick any soda and flavor ever, and you can get refills, which is unheard of at movies, in my experience. $2 for parking in their lot seems silly, since movie theaters in LA will validate for the time youre in the movie, and Chicago, not to mention Logan Square, has no business charging for parking when LA doesnt, imo. Bathrooms were fine, clean enough. Decent selection of movies, with some Imax and such, but I think they pretty much had the big movies out at the time, and kept some older ones. A sizeable arcade for a movie theater, if thats your scene.

Let me start by saying that Im new to Chicago (from Memphis, TN) and I have not visited any other theater in the area. Despite that, this is the closest theater to me and its completely serviceable, and clean. I never buy concessions because butter-drenched popcorn is ridiculously bad for you, and no matter where you go, candy at a movie theater is a rip off; I cannot comment on the prices or quality of any of the food services here. However the movie watching experience, and parking is perfectly fine. The video and audio experience is great and the seats are comfortable and roomy enough for my taste. The employees are competent and friendly from my experience, and the crowd that frequents the theater is your run of the mill variety of people. I havent seen any screaming kids or belligerent patrons.

I have been to this theater a few times, and I only come here when I know I wont be able to get to another theater on time. I would recommend people to arrive early because seats fill up very quick. The place is clean but it could be better. I like the fact that once when I came here they had listed a movie online but when I got there they had canceled the show; however they gave me and my boyfriend two free tickets to watch any other movie we wanted. But it got better, since they were showing the last shows of the day, the manager said they would play the movie we originally wanted to see. So we me and my boyfriend got a theater room just for ourselves!
