We love this place and go here at least 2-3 times a month. You can sit in your air conditioned car and listen through the radio station or you can do like most people and sit outside on chairs. Ive even seen a truck with an air mattress in the back! All the kids gather and play before the movie starts. They show current, first run movies and they change usually every week. Its a family business so usually its a PG kid type movie first and the 2nd movie is usually PG-13 for the older ones. You will never see anything inappropriate for kids. The owners and workers are fantastic. I have NEVER had a bad experience except from a rude customer once or twice. They only charge $6 per person for 2 new release movies! They make their $$ off the concessions which is fair priced stuff (not $6 for a soda like at regular theaters) and you can even get hot dogs and hamburgers! Unfortunately, people choose to bring in nasty taco bell and McDonalds instead of supporting this wonderful business so I saw on their Facebook page they are having to up the admission price to $10. Good for them! Thats still $5 for each first run movie and with it comes the family experience! BRAVO RUSKIN FAMILY DRIVE-IN FOR GIVING US THIS! I know you have been struggling lately, but we are praying that you never have to close!

I went to see beauty and the beast here and i really liked it. It definitely has a family feel. The person that recently complained failed to point out some real facts. It is a drive in. It is expected that cars will be distant from the screen since you cant cram 100 cars 1 ft from each other. These are cars, not people. Also if you are concerned about being stuck all the way in the back then show up on time and i guarantee that you will have a good spot like i did. The price of the entrance was $6 per person, and the food had a good price and was very tasty. I usually spend over $30 going to a movie theater($11 per person plus food and drink). This time i spent $20($6 per person plus tons of food and drink), not bad! Oh and no those people that work there were not unmotivated. They were very kind much kinder than what you get at a movie theater. The only con was when people would turn on their car lights, it would affect the view but whose fault is that? Not the business fault. This place is only for people who are humble and willing to share space like a big family to watch a movie like the good ol days! Loved it and will be back!

I was quite the regular until I went on a Friday night recently and it was packed out and when I pulled up the lady at the ticket booth told me there were 4 spots left, but I got in there we no spots left and was practically out in the road where the cars have to pass to get out and I couldnt even see the screen very well. I went to get a refund before the movie started and I explained to the owner my situation and he simply told me "I didnt build the place" and walked away throwing his arms in the air. Thats customer sevice: Dont like it, tough, is pretty much the attitude these people have. You see, this guy made his money 20 years ago and could care less about his customers. If he did, he wouldnt way over sell tickets. Im still deciding whether or not to call out the fire marshal because God forbid a fire broke out on the property and people needed to get out in a hurry, it would be a total disaster. When we left and went back up the road he was still selling tickets to cars, so that tells me he doesnt give a crap how many cars he has in there. You can go there if you want, just dont complain about anything.

What a Wonderful Place to take the whole family ! Step back in time to a simpler place in 1952, a place where everyone is welcome, no gangs , no booze , and a lot of respect for one another . This is a FAMILY "Drive in" one you know your safe at with your family. (I am blessed to say I still feel like family). My first job in 1978 at the " Bradenton Drive in", which is gone now but, it was located on 9th St. W., in Bradenton, I was 15 yrs old , the same FAMILY ran the "Bradenton Drive in" , as well as the Ruskin Drive In .. I want to say Thank You to all the people that keep the "Ruskin Drive In" open and running , and to my first Boss "Don Digmen" , here in Bradenton for letting me be a part of that History... Please ,Come one, come all, its worth the trip from where ever you may live, it one of those things as a child you will never forget ! The "Drive In" does fill up fast and sells out quickly on those opening night of new SHOWS , so come early, and just wait it out I guaranty you its worth the wait ....Thank You, Enjoy the experience of a life time ... GOD BLESS 7-15-2016

I went with my mother to see Beauty and the Beast, and was very disappointed. It was so crowded, it was like a madhouse. The owners kept letting people in, despite the amount of space available. There was absolutely no more space, so customers parked where they werent supposed to just to watch the film. Kids were running around screaming and throwing footballs like it was a park. Adults smoking everywhere, even though they claim its a "family owned" business and no alcohol or drugs were allowed, yet smoking was. I couldnt even enjoy the movie because of how far away we were. The screen is too small for the amount of rows and people there are. The bathrooms are disgusting. There are only 2 stalls. 2! There was such a big line, I considered going behind a tree or bush somewhere. The food is overpriced and not even good. The staff seem awfully lazy and unmotivated to be there. I dont understand why so many people barge to get in this place. I wish there was another drive-in near. Moral of the the story: dont waste your time and money here. Go to a regular movie theatre.

LOVE coming here but we did not have a good experience Saturday. This was not the theaters fault at all but rather, the fellow customers. The line to pull in was extremely long so we got in the very back of the line and started to wait patiently. We were unable to get inside however because extremely rude customers kept pulling up to cut in line. People were cutting through McDonalds, U-turning in to cut, and completely blocking traffic. I wish an officer would have driven by and starting pulling people over. We ended up having to give up and just leave because we could not make any progress. Although we were in line even before they even opened the gates, people who pulled up late managed to skip ahead. PLEASE move to the back so that we can file in the order we arrived and make it a much smoother process.

Ruskin drive-in movie theater is a land mark I think, if is not it should be it reminds me of the first driven I went to In Illinois, but I went with a girl not a bunch of screaming kids, you can listen on your radio in your car or the box. the movie we saw was its a dog’s life or smoothing like that I dint get into the movie I don’t like cartoons, it was a far cry from apocalypse now that was at the first drive-in I went to . But the kids had a great time and the screen was really good for being 5o years old. The first movie they played here was singing in the rain. Well I hope you will go there to keep it going, there are not too many drive-in movies theaters left. Oh and the popcorn was much better than a big commercial place that we went to and I won’t go again.
