The movie experience was enjoyable but the food experience was bad. The seats are large and comfortable and its fun to share a bucket of beer during the film, but we went to the movie planning on eating dinner. At 8 oclock on a Friday night they were completely out of pizza, which was the only vegetarian thing I could get on the menu. I ordered some triple-dip fries instead that came with three creative sauces and my husband got wings. We paid $40 for the food and beer (not counting movie tickets) and were given a buzzer for when the food was ready. About 10 minutes into the movie the buzzer rang and my husband went to get our food. No one was at the service station. My husband waited for 5 minutes before returning to the movie. 10 minutes later he walked back down to check. This time he was told the food wasnt ready and it would be brought to us. Ultimately the fries were brought to us after 45 minutes, and they were cold and served with ketchup, mustard, and mayonnaise. The server truly thought those condiments were the special sauces we paid an extra $3 for. The wings followed and were also cold and missing sauce. My husband complained and they ultimately refunded our food cost and brought us warm food with the right sauces, which was actually good when we finally got to eat. So we missed a good chunk of the movie dealing with all of that and we were starving and stressed for the first half, but ultimately I think they handled the situation well by comping our meal and we enjoyed the big plush seats. If we come back, we will eat beforehand and just get drinks.

I went to watch a film at 10:30 on a Friday night in May and I was horribly disappointed by the changes made by the new management. Tickets used to be $5.50 for students, they are now $10.50 and their Buy Local Orlando 50% discount is only good Mon-Weds. I only used to buy food and beer there because I saved so much on the ticket, so a lot of the appeal is gone right there. Next, the hallways in the theater are now filthy, they have huge stains and dont look well cared for. This was a shock as previously the Plaza Cinema had been pristinely beautiful and well kept. I also noticed a change in clientele, whereas before it represented a broad spectrum of ages, it is now mostly teenagers, and a group of them appeared to be high and yelling through out the duration of the film I watched. While a business cannot control its clientele, I think the clientele is indicative of the way a business is run. That Plaza Cinema has lost most of its original demographic should tell you something. The final upset came when we left and discovered that they DONT VALIDATE PARKING, they only offer a discount. That is absurd, especially since they ADVERTISE validated parking on their website, it was just insult to injury after the cost of the ticket. After the discount you only pay $3, but its still blatant false advertising. In short, I was incredibly disappointed with the new management at Plaza Cinema, and I dont intend to return unless they make some positive changes. They took a 5 star place and made it a 1 star.

Very Nice! I agree that the parking is not ideal, but its not THAT bad. There are signs to theater parking and signs telling you where to pay for parking. The only thing that isnt clear is what floor to get off at for the theater box office, bit the website tells you (Level C). The food was good - not awesome, but not at all bad. Average priced, and average quality (think Chilis). You order at the concession stand or bar, they give you a pager, and you pick it up at the bar when its ready. It took about 15 minutes. The seats are comfortable, and the extra-wide arm rests make it comfortable to eat. I was concerned because of all the negative reviews, but we went for it anyways since it is super close to home. Cobb has taken over (new as of April, I believe) and I think that since they are a larger company, perhaps the theater is better managed? Nearly every negative comment I read is no longer an issue (except the parking garage). It is very clean -carpets, bathrooms, theaters, etc- and the staff were all very nice, giving clear directions, warm greetings, and well-wishes for our weekend as we left. It was surprisingly uncrowded for a Friday night, but I think its because of all of the negative reviews. If people would just give it a chance, I think theyd be pleasantly surprised!!

This has been by far the worst experience I have ever had. I arived at 7:30. I purchased my single ticket and went inside. I ordered wings and a PLAIN cheeseburger went as far as saying meat and cheese only. I then went to go grab a beer from your bar to find 1 bartender amd around 75 people waiting. I gave up on getting a beer and went back to check on my food. This is now 7:50. I hear the person handing out the food say that my order was wrong before I could ask how much longer. He placed my wings under the heat lamp and I waited until 7:55. At 7:55 a manger walked by and i asked her to follow up on it. She told me they were behind and it would be a few more minutes that they had messed up my order. I explained that my movie had already started and the manager said "Im sorry these things happen. We will get it to you as fast as we can." At 8:10 i received my food. It was still incorrect however I took it anyway. I attempted to speak with the manager again. All she said was sorry and handed me a re admit ticket. She then walked away. By the time the Burger was received my wings had been under the heat lamp for about 25 minutes and were luke warm and gross. If this is the kind of service I can expect from this theater I will drive the extra 15 minutes to another one from here on out.

over the past 5 years living in the downtown area Ive watched too many movies at this theater to count. the seating is awesome! "now assigned seating" with is even better. the food is great, buckets of beer, wine "not a drinker myself" However this past weekend i was told i had to leave the theater, or throw away my fresh, un-opened bottle of water. i will keep this as short as i can and get to the point. Ren Acosta who was dressed in kitchen closes, so i assume hes the kitchen manager. who acted in accordance to the rules no outside drinks, did not follow the theaters own policy. I was allowed to bring a bottle of water as long as i can show need to having it in there theater. however he was rude to me and one of his coworkers and insisted on giving me a refund for my ticket and cheese burger. he was un professional, and rude. to be completely honest I hope he is suspended for his actions. another manager who I never got her name, asked if she could help me from about 10ft. away, i said "Im being issued a refund" she turned around and said "ok as she walked away from me...Ive never had any experience with the managerial staff at the cobb cafe downtown, however from their rude customer relation, and disregard for customer service, I wont be going back anytime soon...
