First of all, the staff here couldnt be friendlier--from the counter person to the starter. The practice facilities are fine; I especially appreciate the chipping green, something often missing at Bay Area golf courses. The course itself was in terrific shape: lush fairways, smooth greens. I was pleased to find actual sand in the bunkers instead of maddening hard pan ( it helped me pull off a sandy par save on #16). And best of all, Im someone who almost never plays on weekends, especially because of the expense. I was thrilled to get a last minute tee time on a Sunday for $39 that included cart, and on a day of perfectly warm weather. All around, a great deal and a great day. Throw in the variety of the links-style holes, the location right on the water, and the view of the San Francisco skyline in the distance, and Monarch Bay deserves a place in my golf course rotation.

We specifically asked about the condition of the greens when making he reservation and were told they were "excellent" only to find them still noticeably punched and recently sanded. The sand could have been well used in the traps which frequently were a layer of dirt covering hard pan. We play the course often and love the views of the city, the challenge of the course and the abundance of wildlife (red tail hawks, red fox and garter snakes). The staff was friendly and welcoming but the inaccuracy of the information on the greens was unpardonable. Fresh sand on the greens is not excellent.

The most frustrating round of golf Ive ever played in my 18yrs of playing the game. They pushed us back 20 min teeing off, then it took 3.5hrs just to complete the front 9. Un-fricking-acceptable. Saw a marshal one time the whole round. No cart girl on the course. You need to bring your own rubber tees for driving range. The lady who was the starter had her dogs running around when we teed off. One of the course attendants was a moron too. We left after 16 holes which took 5.5hrs as we saw two groups backed up on 17. This place is a clown show

VERY RUDE PERSONEL UNPROFFESIONAL WHEN I CALLED TO TALK TO THE HIRING DEPART FOR A AD THEY POSTED THE GUY WHO ANSWERED BASICALLY TREATED ME LIKE A IDIOT AND WITH THE RUDEST TONE OF VOICE SAID I WOULD HAVE TO COME DOWN THERE AND THAT THERE WAS ALOT OF PEOPLE APPLYING.WHY DO THESE PLACES PLACE ADS FOR JOBS THEN THE PEOPLE WORKING THERE ARE MEAN TO ANYBODY WHO REPLIES..???the golf course isnt that great either so theres no reason to be prudes!

A great muni. Decent conditions for a municipal course. Double decker range, small chipping green and bunker. Fantastic views of SF Bay and the SF Skyline. Some strong holes requiring proper tee shot for the best angle approach to the green. If they still have all inclusive deal get it! Watch out for the fox, the fox ate my friends breakfast burrito.

the course was in very good condition. the one comment i have was a slow twosome was allowed to start the back nine when my group was putting on the 9th green. the twosome slowed our pace for three holes until we caught up to them as they were teeing off the 13th tee. we asked to play through.

This is an awesome course - overlooking the bay and SF. The price was incredibly reasonable and the condition of the course in August was terrific (espeically when other courses were all burned out). The fairways are wide, so very forgiving! Great course and value!

One of my favorite courses to play. Good greens and decent pace of play. The course played a little wet as there seemed to be a campaign of water going on, but who am I to know the grounds keepers strategy. I will continue to visit here and play.

Great links track. The wind really protects this course, especially the back nine. Course was well maintained and the greens rolled true. Pace was a little slow but it just gave me time to review my shot making. Definitely will be back.

Absolutely a beautiful course. However, it was wasted away by extremely poor management. 2 hours to play 6 holes, and allowed 4 some to split into two tee times because the pair "didnt want to play with anyone."

Played Monarch Bay on May 12, 2017. Course was in great condition. Good layout. Nice views. The wind was blowing very hard throughout the round, especially the back nine. It really affected our play.

First game of footgolf Ive ever played. Apart from getting the ball stuck in a water hazard for 20 minutes while we figured out how to fish it out without getting soaked it was a great time!
