Large grassy area to chase your kids, play frisbee, throw a football or baseball back and forth. Nice playground area for children if all ages. Several trails for walking and nature observation. Lake access for boats as well as walking among shore, fishing, and watching sunsets. Small grills and a smaller pavilion that can be used on 1st come 1st serve basis. Larger pavilion available for larger gatherings but require being rented out to use for such activities.

Nice out of the way park, popular boat launch. Nice, different playground structure, very big pavilion & fairly flat green space. Big downside is the beach/non-boat water access. Beach area is a steep walk or drive to get to & extremely rocky with hard packed sand, not conducive to laying on a towl, bring a chair. NOTE: the water is a no-swim zone.

Actual name is Highmeyer Park, not Shades Beach, which is along the lake shore. Great park. Lots of hiking, biking and hunting trails ~ 3+ miles worth. Unfortunately the ATVs have encroached on this property and rutted up the trails pretty good. Fines for ATV usage does not deter the inconsiderates.

Nice little beach in Harbor Creek. Well maintained and very clean. Views of Presque Isle from here. Huge picnic pavilion and great playground in the park as well. Historic signage helps fill the visitor in on some of the local history and sites associated with the beach and park.

Lovely little beach about a quarter mile long tucked away under the bluffs. The park includes a play ground, bathrooms and about a mile long hiking trail over looking the beach and lake. Also has a boat launch. I enjoy it as a less touristy alternative to Presque Isle.

Beautiful big playground for the kids, lots and lots of picnic room. I think you can rent out the picnic areas. They also have a nice little beach. You cant swim there but you can drop in your boat. My daughter loves walking out on the docks and looking at the water.

It so sad to see how human waste has affected the lake, there were death fishes in the shore of the lake and the water had a lot of algae. Other than that the forest is really cool and theres a small park for children where they can play and have a lot of fun

Has plenty of parking, a boat launch with a small beach. There is also a large covered pavilion with kitchen as as well as a playground. Not too much of open grassy space.

The entrance to this park is actually on Highmeyer Road Im not sure why the label says its on Eastlake Ive never seen an entrance on Eastlake

Good launch for Eastsideers. Have to drive boat long way to get fish this time of year. Better off launching at North East Marina.

Beautiful place for an event. Running water and flushing toilets in the bathroom are a big plus for a park location.
