Given the opulence of the place, I would have expected a less obnoxious audience. I believe it might be a good idea to actually station some of the ushers (do they still use that word?) in the auditorium. Not that theyd be able to make people shut up- fear of lawsuits you know. The woman next to me was texting on a screen bigger than the TV we had as kids. And the folks directly behind were noisily riding herd on a bunch of little kids, drunk on self-esteem, never having been told theyre not the center of the universe. Maybe this is the new norm. Perhaps we were the only people who wanted our $17 back. The good news is that the movie (The Avengers) was such an empty husk, utterly without redeeming value. Nobody seemed to notice that either. Id really be annoyed if it was a good movie that had been ruined in this way.

I have been to this cinema twice now and am planning on going again today. Several amenities are very important to me, the ability to reserve seats ahead of time, the comfort of the seating, especially the leg room, my movie friend is 6"5" and is getting tired of being crammed into regular movie seats! so the seating was great for us. The food was "good" quality and the price was in-line with what other food costs in the area. Mostly I enjoyed the less crowded theater with mostly adults that truly came for an enjoyable experience and to watch the movie, not text or talk. I will go there again. My friend said that I have ruined going to regular theaters for him, that we will only go to this theater for movies in the future, it is worth the extra price for the additional comfort, amenities, etc. It was great!

Island Cinema has been upgraded with cushy leather seats that can be reserved. They also serve alcohol here and they have seat-side service too if you dont want to wait in line. The higher prices reflect the level of service you receive. Going to the movies doesnt mean you have to sit in a sticky, smelly theater anymore. You can pay for the perks of a clean, comfortable theater that you could almost call home. There wont be too many screaming kids either if you get a 21 and over movie showing. The staff is great and accommodating. Island Cinema brings you a luxury movie experience.

They serve alcohol at PG-13 and up showings, so no one under 21 - which sucks if you have kids. Youre paying a ridiculous amount of money to basically just sit in a comfortable chair - because the projection isnt top notch for the price. Though the food service is good, if you dont use it (plus the food itself also costs more) there is really no point in going here at all. I remember the price of a 3D ticket was $32 (Non 3D was $21)- it was outrageous. Go to Triangle Square ($4 on Tues/Thurs, $9 reg.), Big Newport ($12), or Metro-Pointe($12) instead so you can keep your arm and leg.

I dont understand the criticisms. Ive had some rambunctious kids, and some drunk adults at this theater before, but it is still better than any other theater anywhere in the area for comfort, space, and quality of food for a movie theater. The ushers cant control every noise or problem (although they will, if you alert them). Its well worth the extra price. The other theaters that have footrests and near full reclining capability have less width to the chairs and the chairs are not as comfortable. For now at least, this is the best!

This theater is way too expensive for what it offers. They do have nice comfortable leather seats and gourmet food with scheduled delivery. But ever since Big Newport 6 across the street got renovated with the reclining leather chairs (which are much nicer than the ones at Island Cinema) and RPX, plus the fact that they have significantly lower prices as well for non-RPX movies, the only advantage this theater offers is alcoholic beverages and gourmet food.

Nice...Food and drink is very good. They will deliver it to your seat at whichever time you ask. Although I dont like that you have to go to different counters to order alcohol & food. I was in Thailand over 10 years ago, they are still better...each seat is a WIDE reclining massage chair and has a fresh blanket and pillow...Would image they have something much better now. Come on America!

After going to Edwards Big Newport n having seats that recline n air conditioning, I was greatly disappointed today. I told an attended about the warmth in the theater after the movie n he told me that I should have come out n td them during the movie.. whereas the only good thing about the theater was the movie. The price does not match the discomfort.

They converted the traditional theaters into the high-end recliner seating style, and with it, the price increased. But its worth it. You pick your seat, and then someone comes to take an order if you want food/drink. Theres a bar and sandwich shop. A luxurious experience.

The luxury theater experience is worth the money. If you want to lap in a clean spacious leather chair with a swing out food tray and built in cup holder then this place is for you. The chances you run into ghetto hood rats, obnoxious rude teens, or crying brats is slim.

My husband and I do go to this Theater, convenient location. But must say, the seats are NOT the most comfortable seats..no leg rests, seats do not recline. Was so disappointed after waiting so long for the remodel. But good service and friendly staff.

Roomy, comfortable reserved seating. I give a thumbs up for their food and popcorn. Altho, I kinda miss the normal pizza that they used to have. Higher prices, but other theaters with the same high price were not as good as this one.

I enjoyed my experience here! Although higher prices makes up for it in the quality of the cinema! The staff was courteous. I didnt partake in the dine-in amenities, but they do serve alcohol!

Huge step up from the former Fashion Island theater. Nice large leather seats with swivel table/tray per chair for food and drink. Great food options. Tickets are of course a bit more expensive.
