I played Patriots Glenn today after it had rained a little bit overnight. The course doesnt drain well so it was soggy. The course is coming back but will need more time to return to its past conditions. The tee boxes and fairways are spotty and at least three greens were basically unputtable due to bare spots and weeds that have been treated and are in the process of dying. The rough was US Open rough with the grass actually bending over. I lost three balls that drifted a few feet into the rough. They went to the bottom of the rough and were covered by grass. Little sand in the traps too. Heres the deal---if you want a recreational round to practice your shots, Patriots Glenn is fine. If you demand really nice smooth greens look elsewhere. If you want pristine conditions you will be disappointed. That being said, I played for under $30 bucks and went around in 3 1/2 hours and had a great time. Ill be back in the Fall when conditions will hopefully be better.

Learned to play golf at Patriots 5 years ago and fell in love with the layout until an unfortunate closing. While it was closed, my game bloomed, as well as some trees on the greens on the abandoned Patriots course. Present day: its truly unbelievable how much work had to be done in 16 months to bring Patriots back to life. The new owners have lifelong experience in the game, and their commitment to this project is evident. Great things are happening at Patriots Glenn National and I am proud to be along for the ride and part of its history. Its been a hot and dry summer but with some help from Mother Nature and Old Man Time this course will be a "must play" in the Tri-State area soon enough. Cheers to the staff and please be patient local golfers. It will take an investment from everyone to reach the excellent potential this golf course certainly shows. - JS

I played here after I got a good deal on golfnow. The driving range is probably the best in the area, range balls are a good deal if you buy more than one token at a time. The course was in good not great shape, some transitions between fairway and rough/ teeboxes and fairways were a bit bare. However the greens and tee boxes where in solid shape. The hazards are well demarcated and the bunkers in great condition (something other area courses dont seem to attend to). The layout of this course is great in my opinion. The lack of randomly placed tall grass really makes the round more enjoyable. I cant comment on the bar/drink prices as I didnt make use of it. Its true the facility is just getting back on its feet and for that I give a little bit of a break on some of its weak spots because it has a ton of potential.

I find it pretty ridiculous to charge the same rate as other courses in the area when the course is in such terrible condition. Fairways with swamp areas marked off in the middle of them?? Greens that are un-puttable, and the rough is out of control. 1 or 2 feet off of the fairway and good luck finding your ball! I understand the course is being rehabilitated, and has come a long way, but I wouldnt even pay 10$ to return to such poor conditions. In addition to the poor conditions, beer is $30.00 for a six pack! The perfect one, two combination to make first timers never return. A course in poor condition followed up with a complete rip-off at the bar.

Played June 2016. Same now as it was before it closed down for a few years. Rock hard greens and fairways that get pretty bare - for whatever reason, theyve never been able to grow much grass on this course. Driving range is still pretty crappy, but it at least has grass; putting green is as bad as the greens on the course (if not worse). But, the layout here is great; we deal with the bad conditions by just playing lift & place on the fairways. Its deceptively hard from the back tees. Very fast pace of play - even on weekday mornings, there are maybe only 5-10 groups out at a time.

So I just started playing golf here this year and when I first played it it was rough. The owner wes and hugo both explained to me that the course is coming around and by memorial day 2015 the course should be 100% I played the day before memorial day and I absolutely loved it the greens were rolling 100x better and the fairways were looking good. The tee boxes are looking great. I read a comment that someone posted a week ago saying the the course was a dump but my experience is completely the opposite I absolutely love this course and recommend this course to anyone and everyone!

Went to play this course for the first time and we found the tee boxes so chewed up it looked like a herd of dairy cows went through them. We were paired up with a couple of older gentlemen who were moving a bit slow but not terrible. By the 8th hole we were harassed by a marshal to pick up the pace of play. He followed us to the 9th where he said it took us 2 hours and 15 minutes to play the front nine and he was so rude we left the course at that point and will not return! Sorry the course believes that you can play nine holes in two hours--good luck getting return golfers

Its never a good thing when the starter tells you the course "isnt looking so good right now." Good layout thats in horrendous shape in the middle of the summer. Starter claimed the sprinkler system hadnt been working properly, and given the marsh-like conditions in the middle of some fairways, the abundant fungus and the rough that hadnt been cut in weeks, there are probably lots of other problems, too. Course is still mostly playable, but barely worth it at twilight rates.

This course is in awful shape (Aug 15, 2015). Tee boxes were atrocious, greens were awful, and the fairways are crabgrass and mud. We actually had to make a rule to allow a free drop on every fairway. Worst part is, the beverage girl is charging $5 a beer. Yes $5, even if you buy a 6 pack. So essentially I just paid $85 to play without a doubt the worst course in the area. Take a look at Odessa National, Back Creek, or Frog Hollow before playing here.

Terrible experience, course is in the condition of your local backyard par 3s, terrible. My grass is cut better than this course, the pros response? "You should have seen it three years ago." Many local courses are FAR superior, and dont have the negative unprofessional staff that you will meet at Patriots Glen pro shop. Crab grass everywhere, unmaintained, terrible golf course, I wouldnt golf here for 10$ a round with a free beer.

New ownership has raised rates 25% without bothering to change the advertised rates. I booked a tee time for 3 on Sunday 8/13 at $39. I reserved the time on Fri. 8/11. when I arrived I was charged $49.25. I showed this clown what he had for published rates on internet site and he said sorry you pay new rate. Besides that the course needs lots of work and isnt worth $30. a round.
