A good theater for independent films and documentaries for Orange County (if not, the only one). Its centralized location serves the OC very well, being close to the I-55 and I-405. The facilities are fairly old, and seats may not feel super padded or comfortable, but quality movies makes this place special. I watched the documentary Blackfish there and had an enjoyable time. The only other theaters showing this documentary was in Santa Monica and Pasadena with only one showing each, where Regency South Coast Village had 4 showings that day. Overall this is a great place to break away from the monotony of big budget films. You will definitely substitute thought provoking ideas and themes for big on-screen explosions.

i am a frequent patron at this movie theater. i was there most recently on 1/24/15 at a screening of *the human capital.* two viewers talked incessantly and i told them to stop, but they didnt. i went to speak to the manager, or at least i believe he is -- an older white male, a bit of a curmudgeon. he said that he would come into the screening room to check but warned me that if he couldnt hear them, he wouldnt do anything. so he came in and stood at the very back of the room for one minute. the offenders were seated 15 rows away. he left. this lax attitude will keep me away from this place.

While trying to kill some time before catching a flight at the nearby airport I thought I would catch a movie. My credit card was a little worn so it wasnt swiping. The very nice attendant asked the manager to enter the number in manually. He tried swiping once and then gruffly told me my bank was blocking the transaction. So I stepped away to call my bank, in the middle of the call the manager approached me again and moodily told me I could not being my small, carry-on into the theater. It was unwarranted and a very unenjoyable experience.

This is one of our favorite theatres; its comfortable, the staff are friendly, and we enjoy seeing a movie in this theatre. I have one suggestion: Please, please leave some lighting on during the previews so that your senior customers can find their seats without stepping all over other people or falling. It is so dark in the theater when the lights are completely off, you cant see your hand in front of your face. Other theatres have dimmed lights during the previews, which makes it so much easier to get seated.

This is one of those indie-type movie theaters with only a few shows at any one time but quite a bit of character to the theater. Theyll also show things like the Oscar shorts nominations and foreign films. One really nice aspect is that they have a bunch of options for concessions (they actually have had iced tea). Youre not going to find a bunch of choices, but if youre good with something different, its a fine theater,

I went to Classic Movie Night and saw The Shining, one of my all-time favorite films. It was my fifth time watching the movie, but seeing it in theaters for the first time, I was more terrified than my first watch! Very kind and down to earth people greet you as you enter and the theater itself is clean and cozy. All-in-all, a great place to watch a movie.

I love this theater and what they offer. I get hard-to-find movies here as well as first-run. They even have White Castle hamburgers in their concession menu. Its so diverse. Seats are comfortable and the restrooms are very clean. I always enjoy going to a movie there even though I live in Seal Beach. Its close to other restaurants as well.

Thank God for this local theater that shows a thoughtful persons films. Without this theater we would miss so many great films. The prices are reasonable. The staff is always courteous. I have been going here since before Regency bought it and it has definitely improved under their managment.

Not professional stuff there is a manager called Jim he thinks that he is the owner of the property when dealing with a customer, if the movie would be so called "privately Rented" cant get sneaked in to telling this to a customer who has already paid for the service. Bad customership

Incredible experience... Truly. This is a theatre to go to if you really believe in the art of film. An old school setup, fair prices, and an atmosphere you do not get at other theaters. Not to mention the best kettle corn in the world!! Best in OC by far!

Awsome quiet theater. If youre not into the being surrounded by teenagers and familys with crying kids. The employes are courteous and accommodating. Been attending this theater for ten years and it has never let me down. Keep up the great job.

So Coast Village theater has electric chairs with thick padded seats that recline, and a footrest that slides out. They are so comfortabe. There is generous space between the rows and lots of elbow room between the chairs-very spacious.

I love this movie theatre. It is oldie, but goodie! They have at least one nice theatre with new reclining chairs, which is very spacious. It is also rarely (if ever) crowded. They also show classic films there, I believe, on Wednesdays

This is my favorite movie theater! Well run and features movies that are less likely to be found "everywhere else". Classic Movie Wednesday is THE BEST!

Has the best popcorn around and remains a bastion of intelligent, independent and offbeat films. The best movie house in OC for the real film buff!

Theyve made upgrades! Last time I was there, the chairs were the old-school kick rocker variety. Now theyre the electric Lazy Boy type.
