Staff Behavior: Reviews indicate mixed experiences with the staff. Some customers praise the staff for being professional and pleasant, while others criticize them for poor customer service, including issues at the concession stand and ticket counter.
Cleanliness: The cleanliness of the theater is another point of contention. Some reviews mention that the area around the soda machines and condiment stations were not well-maintained.
Security: A few reviews mention that the security staff followed them around, making them uncomfortable. This has led to some customers labeling the theater as "ghetto" and vowing not to return.
Location: The theater is located in City of Industry, California, and is part of a mall complex. However, some reviews label the mall as a "ghetto mall," affecting the overall perception of the theater.
Parking: Reviews suggest that parking can sometimes be a challenge due to the theater's location in a mall.
Ticket Prices: The general consensus is that the ticket prices are on the higher side. Some reviews mention that prices are expected to go up further due to upgrades like recliner seats.
Concession Prices: Almost all reviews agree that the prices for popcorn, soda, and other snacks are overpriced.
Screen Quality: The theater offers both IMAX and Dolby screens, and the seats are electronically reclinable. However, one review mentions a dent in one of the screens that has not been fixed.
Movie Selection: The theater seems to offer a wide range of movies, from top-tier studio releases to foreign and independent films.
Additional Amenities: Some reviews mention that the theater has a new bar and freestyle soda machines.
The AMC Puente Hills 20 is situated in a strategic location that is easily accessible from the freeway. It offers a variety of screening options, including IMAX and Dolby, making it a popular choice for movie-goers in the area. However, it's worth noting that the theater is best avoided during weekends and school holidays due to the influx of teenagers and adolescents.
Best Time to Visit: Mid-week, during school nights, for a quieter experience.
Alternatives: Some customers recommend other theaters like Edwards in Brea and West Covina as better options, both in terms of price and experience.
Racism: One review accuses the theater of racial profiling, stating that they were followed around and harassed by the staff for simply walking around the theater.
Refunds: Some customers have had to demand refunds due to various issues, including wrong tickets being printed and long wait times at the concession stand.
The AMC Puente Hills 20 offers a range of services and amenities but falls short in key areas like customer service and pricing. While it has its loyal patrons, several issues need to be addressed to make it a go-to destination for all movie-goers.

This is possibly the worst managed theater in my movie going experience and I have been to many AMC theaters in the area. Usually with AMC we get a quality experience, but this theater failed in many respects. First, the posted start time on their website was 15 minutes later than the actual time. Then the operator printed out tickets to the wrong movie. Next, I entered the line to get popcorn and a soda and literally experienced about a 20 minute wait due to the fact that they only had two attendants running the concessions counter. During my wait, I witnessed other employees milling around the lobby "playing around" with no apparent duties. When I finally got my refreshments, only 2 of the 6 soda machines were operable and an employee was working on one of them causing me to further be delayed in getting to my movie. The area around the soda machines and condiment stations were filthy with debris and in disarray, obviously neglected of any attention from the "playful" employees. When this experience was brought to the attention of management, their solution was to sell us upgrades to the next movie (it was a 3D version) and offered us coupons for popcorn and soda. I expressed my dissatisfaction with this solution and demanded a refund. It was granted. Needless to say, I will NEVER attend this AMC theater again.

I love movies and my wife lets me go every Friday to see a movie or two if time permits, obviously after many months the security staff began to notice me and started following me around. For the amount of money I spend on tickets, pop corn and soda its easily $ 100 per month and about 1200 per year and if I went for 5 years that would be 6 grand. Now that I will no longer go to this "ghetto" theater who will buy my tickets it not like they are ever sold out. Losing your regular customers is not a very bright thing to do. I can go to Edwards in Brea and West Covina. When I go with my wife we never go this location anyway. Located in a ghetto mall. Who is the loser now.

AMC, Please advise your staff and security to be more professional, one of your staff followed my family around the theater and harassed us about walking around the theater. Is there a posted sign to inform us that walking around the theater is prohibited? We were also accused of sneaking into other movies since we were simply walking in your theater. Do we look suspicious because we are Chinese? Is this a racist theater? We won’t be coming back anymore and will be telling all of my Chinese friends to use caution and not to visit this particular AMC anymore.

Ive lived in nearby Walnut for 20 years and this is my home venue. When Im not at a local art house theater, this one is among my preferences. The staff are consistently pleasant and professional. The areas are clean and maintained. I learned to avoid attending during those times when the teens and adolescents dominate (all weekends and early evenings). My theater-going experience here is best for first and last shows during the middle of the week on school nights. I pretty much abandon this theater when schools are out of session.

Great movie going experience if it werent for the price. Nice that they are upgrading to recliner seats but the prices will be going up to unacceptable levels. Montebello AMC with their recliners well be a better option. Seen from freeway, lots of mall parking, clean facility and for most part friendly staff. One screen has a dent and they dont fix it or acknowledge it they just apologize like it was just brought to their attention. All you can drink soda fountain but overall consession prices are outrageous.

this is by far the worst theater i have ever been to .. people are rude and twice i have had to get my money back. so i will no longer go there. ..if you dont look old enough they card you...lol really is it really a crime to look young.and i think they might be racist because i saw allot of other people who bought tickets that they did not card...like i said worst place to visit...i would rather drive to West Corina to the Edwards..way better

It was completely remodeled as of November 2016. It has both IMAX (digital) and Dolby (including the Atmos sound system) theatres. Its new seats are eletronically reclinable, going almost full-recline position. All of the projections Ive seen were digital (probably 4K projectors). Theatres have different sizes, but rows D and E usually get you good seats in most rooms.

I see movies here when I go to Frank and Sons. The staff is great and the movie selection runs from top tier studio new releases to foreign and independent cinema. I can almost always find a movie I havent seen at a convenient time. Also of the big national theater chains AMC tends to have the best concessions and the STUBS card makes the prices almost reasonable.

3 stars just because its the biggest movie theater in SGV and staff is better than others. 2 stars off cuz its AMC. Overpriced everything. If you have access to Costco or can somehow get gold tickets, DO NOT buy the stubs card. Youll be saving more than $10 from buying 8 gold tickets instead of 8 tickets at regular price.

Really nice theatre. Its very clean. I went to watch Jurrasic World there and Mathew at concessions kept conversation throughout our transaction and kept us updated with how much longer we had to wait for our chickentenders so we werent left wondering about our food. Great customer service.

Great place to watch a movie. Its very convenient since it is in the mall but parking can sometimes be a bit difficult. The food is over priced, as usual in the movie theaters. There is nothing really special about this theater but its still a great place to watch movies

Way to expensive!!! No other theater costs this much. And they should have Economy Day where its half the price on some days during the week like Edwards does so everyone can be able to enjoy a movie once in a while with their hole family and be able to afford it!!!!
