First off, I was hesitant to go because of bad experiences before but decided to try it since it was under a new name and management. Upon arriving, I stopped to get tickets at the electronic ticket booth 2 minutes before the show started thinking wed have time to get the tickets and zip on in. The tickets would never print. We asked a worker to help us who ignored us and finally did after a minute of talking with another worker. She got on the computer and was looking around to see our purchase. The computer was super slow and she insisted our transaction didnt go through although we could have sworn it did. We were charged 2 more tickets and ordered popcorn which we had to wait for because the popcorn container was empty. The floor was a mess. After we got our popcorn, she told us we were charged twice and did reimburse us but it took 5-10 minutes to realize this. By the time we got into the movie, we had already missed 20 minutes of it. The movie was only on half the screen and the picture quality was truly horrible. I guess we could have arrived earlier or could have been wise and skipped coming here altogether.

My wife and I have come here several times, but they have recently raised their ticket prices. $6.50 per ticket isnt a very good deal in my opinion, when you can go see a first run movie in a wayyyyyy nicer theater for $5 on Tuesdays at the Megaplex. Yeah, the treats here are a good deal. But the theater rooms just arent very nice, definitely not worth the price that they charge now. The staff is SUPER awesome though, Skippy offered to bring us cups with ice into the theater. We appreciated that very much! Edit: Just wanted to update my review. It turns out that on Tuesdays, water garden does a special promotion. For the same ticket price, you actually get a free popcorn and soda. So thats cool! I was also mistaken in the fact that water garden actually plays some first run movies as well for the same price as the older flicks. Given these data points, I have changed my review from 3 to 5 stars. This place may not be the nicest theater in the area, but it provides an awesome bang for your buck, and the staff is always on point.

Taking the kids out for a movie can be kind of a pain in the rear for mom and dad. Your options are either a first run theater where youre looking at 8-12 bucks a ticket - ouch - or a hole like Movies 9 in Provo teeming with hormonal teenagers and covered with nasty goop on the floors. And dont get me started on the concessions - paying $6 for a tub of popcorn and $4 for a soda makes daddy stabby. The new ownership at Water Gardens knows their market and has made all the right moves. Charge $3 a ticket for slightly older films, dont charge at all for kids 3 and under (love it!), no R-rated movies, closed on Sunday, keep the place nice and clean, and charge 7-11 prices for snacks. The movie experience was exactly the same, everybody got to pick the snack they wanted, and it didnt cost an arm and a leg. Let the college / high school kids have the big fancy Carmike places with the 3D glasses and 1.21 Gigawatt sound systems. This is just right for us.

I used to go to Water Gardens ONLY when a show I wanted to see on opening day. It was great: never a line, walk right in. Before the new management took over, I hated the place. The sound system was horrible, the cleanliness was non-existent, and the prices for everything was ridiculous. Now, with new management, I have become a regular customer. The bathrooms are in clean working order, the sound system has been fixed, the price is right for the shows and the concessions. And I have never been treated poorly. The owner has been there most of the times I have gone, and he is always looking for ways to take care of the customers. I talked with him when I went last week... he is a nice guy that wants to create a great place for families to spend time. Give it a try, I doubt you will experience what the negative reviews suggested... at least not since the new management has taken over.

I used to work at the water gardens for 2 years as a projectionist, usher, concessionist, and temp manager. All the staff, friends, managers, owners, and everyone involved was very hard working and we continuly were working hard to keep up with the large volumes of people that came to enjoy the cheap movie tickets, low cost concessions, and the family friendly environment. There are some system errors because of the masses of people we provide services to. But we all worked hard and tried to be the most friendly, fun, clean and exciting place in Utah to see movies. Its sad to hear of bad experiences people have been through because that is not their intention for it to be difficult or not satisfactory. The staff is "worked" hard (we always were sweating our butts off trying to be the best we could be). I will always be a loyal WaterGardener!

We got into the groove of waiting a couple months to see "new releases" at this discounted theatre. That works for us and saves us $5/ticket, which adds up with a family of eight people. The staff well-trained, fast and friendly. The large table of low-priced candies and snack food is an unexpected surprise. Popcorn is also reasonably priced, compared to other theaters. They arent the cleanest theater rooms, but it has less to do with the staff and more to do with the less classy clientele (like me). They always have a wide selection, most of them family friendly. Love this place. Would have given it five stars if the floors and chairs were miraculously kept really clean, but thats a tall order in a cheap theater.

I used to come here weekly but then the continued to raise their prices so I have chosen to go else where most of the time. They are still the cheapest around but for the price you pay it isnt the nicest of places also you have to wait several months after a movie has been out. I would rather go to Megaplex on Tuesdays and pay 1 more dollar for a nicer Theatre and still be able to see it before hearing about the movie from everyone else. Though their treats are cheaper than anywhere else so I guess they have that going for them but I tend to not buy treats at the theatre anyways. So this theatre is not for me but others may enjoy it.

Water Gardens is the only place to go when you take your whole family. The tickets are inexpensive as well as the concessions. I have always found the place to be clean and in good order. The movie theaters are old but who cares? I am not paying 10 bucks a tickets and 15 per person for a drink and popcorn. Some of the negative reviews on here are shocking. Dont expect the Ritz when you booked a room at the Holiday Inn! This place is great and the management has done a great job providing a great place to go and see a movie and not get gouged in price. I will be returning over and over.

They had the volume up waaay too loud. When I worked at a movie theater at least once per showing someone was supposed to poke their head in and make sure that the film was running right (volume, picture, etc). Apparently not policy here. Also, costs $4/ticket for about the same experience as the dollar theatres in Salt Lake County (maybe slightly cleaner). Overall: meh. We only went there because they were the only theater still showing a film we were interested in. Id probably only return if that was the situation again.
