I went in and I ordered a Bubble-eye goldfish, they said it would be there next week. I came back in a week and bought the Bubble-eye, a Ryukin and a Black Moor. I was so excited to have a fish store so close to home and was talking to my fiancè about having three huge custom tanks built, but it wasnt long lived. I bring the fish home and within a week they die of illness. I clear out the tank and treat it for a month to insure that the tank is free of illness for my next fish purchase. I went to Elegant Reef and ordered another Bubble-eye. They said itll be there in a week. I came back in a week and the fish wasnt there. Its understandable that I was forgotten. So I put my name on a list and they said itll take about a month for the next freshwater order. I wait and come back in a month, the fish isnt there. I put my name on the list again because they said the employee that orders the freshwater fish was having issues outside of work, which is understandable, and bought a Bristlenose. Within the week, my tank is filled with illness again. I treat the tank and I come back about two weeks later and ask when the fish will be ordered, because it still hasnt come in. They said they had already made their order and that they wont make another on until the next month. Long story short, I waited four months for a fish they never intended to order in the first place. I called Elegant Reef today (8/19) and asked if the fish had come in yet. They said that if I had been waiting that long that I should go somewhere else because they dont specialize in goldfish. Well, then why on earth did you KEEP telling me that you were going to order them, IF YOU DONT SPECIALIZE IN THEM? I waited four months to be told that I wasnt a valued customer. Im glad that this happened sooner than later, however. I was going to have three custom tanks built, but now who knows if theyd ever even start them?

Me and the store had a rough start whe I first got in the hobby. Gave them a second chance and Im glad I have. They care more about you doing well and taking care of the corals and livestock than any other place you can go to. Have a great selection but sometimes they get slammed with people and it seems like it takes a long time to speak with someone there. But its worth the wait. Its not something you can rush when selecting livestock or coral and getting good information, which is always provided by them. They dont rush anything and they are damn good for sure at elegant reef

Elegant Reef is a clean, tidy LFS (Local Fish Shop). Knowledgeable & friendly staff, they will be more than happy to help you find what you need. All corals are clean and well maintained. They carry common livestock and exotic corals and fish. Anything an aquarium hobbyist could need. Elegant also has freshwater fish for that crowd. Probably one of the best LFS in Texas. I always find what I need.

A small but useful shop, they have lots of saltwater and reef supplies and stock. The little freshwater they do have is usually pretty desirable stock. They almost always have at least a few nice plants that you dont see elsewhere. The staff is always nice, friendly and helpful. They always have the new and trendy equipment, usually for a decent price

Elegant Reef, in my opinion, has the best selection of livestock and tanks. With high quality fish, invertebrates, and corals, this place deserves and award. Although small, everything is quite organized. It is clean and the staff is EXTREMELY patient, especially with newbies like me. I would recommend this store to anyone.

Been going here over two years, they take great care of their livestock which is always evident, its a small store but they got a lot inside, theyve helped build my 120g tank and have always helped me with tank issues, they even helped take care of my tank when out of town

They told me I was going to get a call to schedule services for my tank...I did not. I called them today (1 week after) and asked them to come out. I all of a sudden had a $40 fee for them to come out (traveling fee) which was not mentioned the first time...shady store

The store is small, but its clean and stocked with healthy saltwater fish. You should take a few minutes to browse their coral frag tank which is filled with a a large variety of corals, clams, and other small fish.

Good selection of saltwater stuff, also great selection of equipment, this is the first LFS I see that carries controllers. Freshwater selection is small but thats not a big deal for me.
