Unless you buy your tickets on groupon or some other online savings service, Skyview isnt worth $15/person. The two guys who were suppose to be directing people into the pods, were unprofessional and uncoordinated with each other. Told my girlfriend and I opposite things to do. This place will try to sell you their mothers wedding ring if they could. The photographer tried to make my girlfriend and I kiss for the picture. Weve been dating ~3 years and not super big fans of excessive PDA. The photographer asked us 5 times to kiss or do some weird pose, so we would feel more obligated to buy their pictures at the photo booth. I was not having it. Kinda put a sour mood on the night. He even made a comment that it must be our first date because we didnt kiss. You do get to go around the Ferris wheel 5 times and the view over centennial park is beautiful, but by golly this places staff is terrible. Also hold your nose when crossing the street back over to the park because that corner is where the horse carriages stop and it smells like straight horse dung.

Long story short. I just dont think its worth the price. Though it may seem unfair to compare SkyView to the London Eye or Navy Pier in Chicago, if youre going to charge the same price I think its a fair comparison. While the wheel itself is lovely and in great shape, the view and ride it provides is less than stellar. Its just got to do with location. Centennial Olympic Park is beautiful, but it really is the only thing youll be tempted to look at, which might get old after about 5 minutes. Compare this to a gorgeous view of the Chicago Skyline while hovering over Lake Michigan. Or seeing historical landmarks along River Thames in London. Even the EDC Vegas ferris wheel only up for a week provides better views for the price. Save the $ for some delicious Atlanta/Georgia food unless you are really into Ferris wheels, or this is the first one youll ride because itll pale in comparison to the staples of the world.

Paid for a VIP experience while on a date night with my girlfriend. Staff was very short and rude with me, it was below 50 degrees outside and the "VIP Tent" wasnt heated despite there being multiple heaters in there, the car hadnt been cleaned in a while and had wine spilled in all the cup holders. Then our ride was cut short because they were "trying to squeeze in the last VIP customer of the day so we can close on time." I tried reaching out for help but theyre staff either never responded, and the 2 times I tried to call they hung up on me stating that I was never a customer of theirs because they treat their customers better than that. My receipt would like to argue back that I am indeed a (now ex) customer of yours. The view isnt anything to talk about either. Its a great way for tourists to waste their money, but as a citizen of Atlanta Im embarrassed to say this is a part of our city.

Ive never ridden an independent ferris wheel attraction, outside of a fair or theme park, as I assume theyre rather touristy & pricey. But my mom disagreed & really wanted to ride Skyview Atlanta, so of course I rode with my mom! Im so glad I did... what a smooth ride! And amazing view! Since the peak is 200 feet, Skyview Atlanta offers incredible city views for miles. I couldnt stop snapping photos! The gondolas are enclosed, but Im not sure if theyre climate controlled year round; the weather was cool (for a FL native) but I started sweating early during our 3+ rotations. A regular price adult ticket is $13.89 plus tax, which I think is a great value for the ride & view. In researching facts for this review, I saw recent group discounts available and special pricing via Groupon (of course time-sensitive), so definitely check before you go... But know that full price is still worthwhile.

If you are in the mood for a tourist trap, this is a pretty good one. Depending when you go the line may be long, and they do take one of those mandatory cruise ship or roller coaster type photos that they get you to try and buy after the ride. For the cost you get a decent ride. The cabs are clean, temperature controlled and mostly viewing space. Majority of your view is either the buildings next door, all of Centennial Park and a great view through downtown, midtown straight on all the way to Buckhead. If ya want a quick scenic experience of your visit to Atlanta, or if you live here but never do these things until someone comes to visit, usually there is a Groupon, worth it.

Visited and rode Skyview Atlanta on 6/24/16. It was amazing! I went up on a dare, because Im afraid of heights. I was so worried on the way to the top, that it would be all herky-jerky like a regular Ferris wheel. It wasnt. The ride to the top was very quick, but it was also very smooth, and controlled. No jerking around. No feeling like youre about to flip over and fall from the car. I could relax and focus on the views of Atlanta, and it was awesome! There was even a narration of the sites you should be able to see playing over a speaker in the car. And the cars were fully enclosed, and air-conditioned. I would definitely do it again, and recommend it everyone.

Air conditioning and ventilation are NOT sufficient for HOTlanta. The pod I sat in had temperamental A/C, so things got TOASTY. Worst of all was the total apathy of the workers here. Case in point: my line to enter went through closed tents in the back with inadequate ventilation, so hot I felt faint. When I got out of the tent and told an employee that it felt dangerously hot in there, she just laughed at me and did nothing even as I told her I was serious! Meanwhile she and her coworkers had a fan trained steadily on them while they stood under an open tent with plenty of outside air circulation. RUDE and dangerous for those with weak health conditions.
