Ive been to this theater twice now and both experiences have been terrible. The first time was with my wife and my two small children. Just as we were finally settled into our seats and through all of the trailers we see the opening sequence for the wrong movie begin. After some commotion of all of the other moviegoers asserting that this was in fact the wrong movie, we were told that we needed to switch theaters (not a happy proposition to a family with small children and (now) lots of refreshments). After switching theaters and settling in for the long haul with the correct movie on the screen, the screen blacks out, and a minute or so later the wrong movie comes on again and we are told to move theaters yet again. Once we finally get settled back into the original theater we started in the correct movie finally starts. At this point we should already 20 minutes into the movie, yet we are forced to watch with all of the trailers we have already seen all over again. The second time I visited this theater we planned our entire evening around being able to see a movie at 8:30 pm. Once we arrive at the theater we are told that if 50 people do not show up for the final showing that they do not show the movie. So our entire evening plans were ruined because they didnt want to have to keep a couple people on staff a few extra hours to play a movie they said they would play. Horrible business practice. I understand that this theater only charges a buck or so to see a movie so to tell them that they have lost my business is kind of silly; regardless, the fact remains. I will spend the extra couple of dollars to go somewhere that is run by professionals. The point of a night out is to enjoy yourself, and going to a movie at Towne Cinema can make it very difficult to do just that.

Im amazed this theater can stay in business. Sure, the tickets are cheap, but that is the only benefit. I waited in the concession line for over 20 minutes (this is not an exaggeration). There were two teenage employees: one selling tickets, the other running concessions. Even with a huge line, there was no effort to hurry things up. I see other people calling this place the "sticky shoe". The problem with this is, the only reason the floors would be sticky is if they are not cleaned. And they arent. Neither are the seats, or anything else in the theater. Id be afraid to venture into the bathrooms. It was a horrible experience and Ill never return. The only reason I am not giving it only 1 star is because I feel partially responsible for ignoring the warning signs of the rundown look and going anyway.

I have gone there for many years but it appears that some poor management has taken over. I took children to their 5pm show today, Friday . But once we walked through the filthy lobby I knew there was a problem, the actual theaters were incredibly hot. When I approached the young lady that appeared to be the manager and asked her about the AC , she said that it was working full blast. Yet there was not even air flow in the theaters. I looked at the AC thermostats in her office and they were registering 83&85 degrees. She was not telling the truth and simply did not want to admit that the AC in the theaters were not working. It was a shameful and dishonest way to run the theater. Its time this theater gets shut down. My next call is to the department of health.

I have loved the "sticky shoe" for more than a decade. It is what it is - and Im at peace with that. I generally get the popcorn, and will pay for water cups at like $.15 a piece or something, overall worth it. Though its a little run down in parts, the sound and video quality is actually better than it used to be being all digital now. Sometimes I have to wait longer than other times for movies to arrive, however when they do, I generally do a happy dance, because there is something homey about heading down with the kiddos and the honey - for the magic of getting lost in the cinema.

Affordable, quaint, just like the cinema around the corner when I was a kid. The popcorn is affordable, and the projection/sound quality is good. Its got cement floors in the theater rooms, which are often a little sticky, but to me its just adding to the quaint experience. I think its owned and run by a small family, seeing as the box office is often run by a husband or wife--and their 3-year old. I love the family atmosphere, and I feel like its not embarrassing if my 5-year-old son spills his drink. Great place for young families, and those who like being around them.

I just saw the movie, "love, Kennedy" it was a real touching & heartwarming movie family-friendly for everyone and spiritually uplifting and soul healing.! I highly recommend it for everyone to see itll bring you closer to Christ and closer to your family.! A must-see definitely.! Its only going to be at the Town Center probably another week or two so I would strongly suggest if you read this post or review to go see as soon as possible.! A life-affirming movie, definitely.! Enjoy if you go see it.!Marilyn McDowell-Spilsbury :-)

"The Sticky Shoe" is an American Fork symbol and deserves a place among the historic places on Main Street. The movies are always light with at least one option for the kids. The concessions are well priced. Their participation in the "Pass of All Passes" makes their $0.25 admission with $0.25 concession voucher the best deal for dollar movies around. They run a skeleton crew to keep prices low, but plenty of fun. One star off for being a sticky shoe in more than name only.

This theater is pretty nasty, the floors are sticky and gross. The seats are uncomfortable and a lot if them are broken. My son tried to play an arcade game but the machine took his money. We bought some popcorn but it was old and crusty. The last time I was at the theater, as I was leaving the movie, an employee opened the door and whacked me. The only reason I went to this theater was because of the discount with the Pass of All Passes and I will not be back again.

Anyone calling this the "sticky floor" must be from out of town. "sticky shoe" is the proper slang. If your a prima donna this may not fancy enough for you, but fortunately for us there are lots of options in town. joking aside-the prices are great, I dont care for the popcorn personally so I choose something else, we occasionally wait for movies to come here that we dont feel are worth the big box price and never feel like we got stung on the price of a show!

I wish that the two movies had different starting times so we are not all in the same big long line at once to get tickets and again inside to get treats. Why not off set the start times by even 15 minutes? A half hour would be better. I get the idea you dont want to pay your help any extra, but it would make for a better experience for all of us movie goers. I can see that this week it is different, so Thanks!
