This is my new go to theater. The best thing about Marketplace cinemas is its affordable with ticket prices being $2.50 every day except Tuesdays in which case they do $2 for everything like other theaters. We live in wilkesboro & didnt think we would ever see a theater cheaper than Liberty, but, here it is and this place is alot bigger, i was very suprised at the large lobby & auditoriums, plus they have a ticket booth built on to the front so you purchase those before you walk in the door. I was more than pleased with everything here. It was nice and clean, friendly staff, popcorn was very good, it does cost about $6.50 for a large but you are allowed a refill so its really like paying $3.25 a piece if you do that, a large soda was $4 & you also get a refill with it so the prices arent bad at all. This is a great place for a family night out, mine will definitely be visiting often.

A real hidden gem in Winston Salem. Doesnt look like much from the road, but its actually a really nice older theater once youre in. Tuesdays, as another reviewer mentioned, are a wonderful time to go - their already-cheap $2.50/ea tickets drop to $2 each, and popcorn, soda and candy are all $2 each as well...a couple can go and watch a movie for $10, and thats amazing in 2015. Shows run about 2-3 months after they drop out of mainstream theaters, and the mix can be eclectic sometimes, but youd be hard-pressed not to find one of the 4-5 offered flicks at least a little appealing. Go and support the theater - its not to say that the Grand and Carmike dont have their charms, but we need to keep this great little theater afloat. Movies are magical, and not everyone has $13 to drop on a ticket.

For those who have not visited and had the experience, you will find out that this is a hidden jem. I encourage you to check it out, as it is deceiving from the front, Once you get over the shock of it being only $2.50, as you walk in, the smell of freshly cooking popcorn, gets you in the movie mood. Then you get into the theater; it is clean, the screen is large and when the program starts the sound is very good. And for us hard of hearing seniors, they even have free devices to enhance the sound to your needs. How cool is that. Cmon try it, you will always come back.

I love this place! My husband and I have a tight budget, and so we frequent often for $2 Tuesdays or whenever we want the movie theater experience without paying $12 a ticket! On Tuesdays, we get popcorn, a drink, a box of candy, and 2 tickets for ten dollars. Plus, its a clean facility that is taken well care of, has friendly staff, you can pay with credit or debit, and weve always felt safe. The picture and sound quality are excellent. Its not an extravagant place, but its a very nice, family-friendly place to enjoy a movie. One of our favorite date spots for value.

Even though the movies are shown a few months later than their standard releases, the wait is worth it, especially for someone who doesnt want to pay outrageous prices for tickets and snacks. The actually facility is of excellent quality, and its showrooms are very accommodating. The atmosphere and the staff give it that "right at home" feel, while still being a legitimate and professional business. This a great cinema, and I hardly ever go to any other place to watch movies.

We love it because we can afford to take the family! Terrific refillable popcorn bucket that is a major value all year! The movies are much older or what is available generally a month or so after releasing, but we really dont care how new the movie is. We are thrilled to have discovered this place and we drive from Mount Airy to take the kids. Always clean and friendly service!

this theater is wonderful. go there only, and this is why, i am elderly and not as sure footed as i used to be. parking is right outside, easy to walk into, no hills or stairs to climb. wonderful old fashioned chair seats, not recliners (good for your back) great people, staff, popcorn. $2.50 for tickets, simple, easy, thank you Maudie, was amazing

Being frugal does not mean you are cheap and have to sacrifice a good date. Especially if you are with your wife of 36 years. We love the Marketplace Cinemas. Great popcorn and drinks. Who thought you could have date night for $20 bucks these days. Friendly people and the same movies in the big buck theaters a month ago!

WE LOVE IT! Yes, the facility is older (although it reminds me of the theaters I used to visit as a teen, so Im cool with that!) but it has surprisingly great sound and picture! For $2.50 a piece, we can actually afford to take our whole family and enjoy a movie night without taking out a second mortgage on the house!

Giant screens, great sound, the best cinema experience around (Definitely for the price). Easily the best popcorn. They pop it fresh as the customers are coming in. Not like the other cinemas that have it pre-made. They even take credit/debt since august they said. Kind staff too. I will be back again and again.

Staff is great, Popcorn is EXCELLENT. We drive from Liberty to this theatre and have never been disappointed. Presentation is superb, great sound and picture from any seat. Not stadium seating but not an issue for us. Seats are well maintained. Auditoriums are comfortable and generally clean.

It is an inexpensive way for everyone to go to the movies and has both 2D and 3D its really nice being able to go to the theaters and not having to pay 40 or 50 dollars for the whole family I highly recommend it although it does need to be cleaned a little better but otherwise a great place.

We go there almost every week and we enjoy it. The entire staff is always really nice. My only complaint ever is the fact that people cant keep their phones off during the movie. I know this happens everywhere but please people respect others and keep your phones put away during the movie.

Older movies and theater... But, friendly people and extremely reasonable prices. . Love the Tuesday specials $2.00 for tickets, Drinks, popcorn, candy. And the summer specials for kids. They also occasionally have movies that dont hit regular theaters. Its my go to theater of choice.

Its a little better than it was, they have deals on tuesdays now and I havent had any more experiences where someone was rudely smoking in the movie theater and then answered their phone. For the price to see a movie its worth going here. But no stadium seats sadly.

Marketplace Cinemas shows current movies that have recently left the first-run theaters--only at less than half the price. They dont have the latest theater features, such as steeply sloped floors and extra-plush seats, but the price more than makes up for that.

Marketplace is one of my favorite theaters. $2.50 every day except Tuesday-than it gets better, only $2.00 to get in and $2.00 for the popcorn and candy. Seats are comfortable, sound and quality of film is great. What more can a person ask for?
