Bow Tie at Annapolis Mall seems to be a step above the competition. I went recently for a free movie courtesy of the Baltimore Sun, so obviously the price was right, but they still impressed me with many other things. First, the prices for when you do pay are just $9 before 6 pm and $11 after 6 pm. And this for a fairly new stadium seating theater in a high rent, high occupancy mall with tons of foot traffic. Their closest competition is a good ways away (not including their other Annapolis location), so they could charge as much as Cinemark at Arundel Mills, but dont. Additionally, the popcorn is popped fresh and tastes good and fresh, without the additional butter. They are also decently priced for their combos (as much as a movie theater is). A large tub of popcorn (with a lib to keep it hot and make it easy to carry, a large soda and a big standup bag of starburst was $13. And the popcorn and soda included free refills. Again, you cant get this elsewhere at these prices, certainly not Cinemark, that would have been over $20. The lobby is also huge and easy to move around. Plenty of restrooms near the screens and one in the lobby. The screen I went in was huge. Stadium seats, arms that move, seat backs that recline. You do have to get up to let someone by, but its not that bad. Most seats are in the middle, but they do also have two seats on the side if you dont want to have to get up for anyone. The theater itself is just an escalator ride up from the main food court. So, its easy to grab a bite before the movie. Highly recommend Bow Tie. I may have to drive by Cinemark and Regal to get there, but its worth the drive to see a first run movie and save some money, while getting good popcorn on top of it!

I go to this theater all the time and Ive gone to many theaters and this is the best one. it is not humid! they all are big fat liers, maybe they just had a bad day and the room they say in was the only bad one. the air never had a bad smell. there has NEVER been a rat, that was a lie from that person. trust me, I know Im not adult but I know that this is a fabulous theater and sometimes its cold, definitely not humid! the seats have patterns that make it look dirty. some seats are new, they are trying to get money for new ones but some are, u have to find a new one. there is 2 I think in a each theater that recline Im pretty sure, thats what one of my friends told me. the popcorn is delicious and its perfectly clean. the arm rests, yes they can be sticky but seriously people, u guys are selfish! u think 10 people can clean every single seat in every single room perfectly! are u kidding me! every night u think they can clean over 300 seats with only 10 people or less every night! I bet u, that u spilled some stuff on there and didnt clean it up. I always clean my stuff up. be nice, maybe if u be nice, they will be nice back. its a great movie theater and u should trust me on that. dont expect 10 or less people to clean over 300 seats a night and it to be perfect. u dont even know what the employees are going through, we all have our good days. I prefer this movie theater over any of the others in Maryland. its a great one!

Ive come to this theater for over 10 yrs and its an average movie theater. I was excited that they decided to redo the theaters but wasnt expecting new rules. They have given customera assigned seats. We came on a slow day and was forced to sit between two families with very small children. We moved but was told yo return to our assigned seats. Absolutely ridiculous that we paid $30 for tixs and couldnt sit where we wanted. The walls in from of the chairs are so high you can barely see the full screen. I used to come here since its convenient but I will start exploring other theaters. When I asked the manager why have assigned seats he didnt have a legit response. I can understand on a busy day but not at 11 in the morning. My son was evem annoyed because the kids next to him kepy trying to take his gummies off his tray. I ended up having to put them on mine. The new seats are great but the assigned seats must go before I give them another doller.

The new Bow Tie is not an improvement. Seating is now assigned and you have to pre purchase tickets way in advance to avoid the dreaded first row. Why do they even have the front row? You cant see, I only stayed because my kid really wanted to see the movie otherwise I would have left and asked for refund and never come back. If you dont buy tickets on line way in advance and pick your seat, you may not get tickets or may end up in the front row. They have reduced seating dramatically and therefore limited tickets are available. Since when are movies pre assigned seating and advance ticket sales? We will do everything we can to avoid this theater. Will travel to Waugh Chapel Regal to avoid this theater. Bad move Bow Tie.

If I could give this a zero star I would. If not for the old gross seats, sarcastic and uncaring staff, then for the infestation of rats. I heard scratching and other odd noises and dismissed them as my imagination but what I could not have imagined in a thousand years was the life of a daring young rat who crawled up the arm of my chair and proceeded to try and drink from my open lemonade cup. Too disgusted to shoo him away I sat in disbelief as another rat crawled onto the chair next to me. This was my last experience at this movie theater and I wont be back for another.

I am from New York City arguably the home to the most disgusting Cinemas apart from the Ziegfeld. And a nice Suburban Town such as Annapolis this Cinema should be a whole hell of a lot cleaner then what I got in the Bronx and parts of Manhattan. Theres trash everywhere garbage along the hallways spill drinks all over the floors which must be month after each showing which is what is done in a properly Run Place. Staff is polite but I dont want polite I do not need polite I have no use for polite I want clean

The staff is nice but there are definitely some inconveniences at this theater. To purchase a ticket you have to purchase it at a booth that is a short distance away from the actual theater on the 1st floor. Then you must walk through the food court and go up to the 2nd level to reach the theater. It does not make sense. When I went the elevator did not work and you had to walk up the stairs. The whole ticket purchasing aspect was inconvenient. The popcorn was not quite fresh but o.k. The theatre was clean.

The renovations to the theater are a great idea...in theory. In reality, the front seats are FAR too close to the screen. There was about two feet between my seat and the movie screen. Unacceptable. Renovations are supposed to make the theater better, and these renovations made it worse for paying customers. My vertigo, which hasnt been an issue for quite some time now, flared up as a result. If youre planning to see a movie, make sure you buy your tickets online HOURS in advance.
