Youve heard of cheap-eats? Well, their matinee prices are cheap, cheap, cheapie! From time to time, they show pretty good movies here, but most movie selections are usually geared toward the little crumb-snatchers or tweens. The smaller theaters are really, really small. The chairs are comfortable and tilt back a bit. I find myself wondering why the largest theater seats 500 and is never sold out. The larger theater plays foreign movies (at a hefty price). I saw two foreign films here. They are romantic comedy-type movies and worthy of 4-stars. The larger theater also offers classical have a symphony orchestra that performs several times per year. Also, the larger theater offers classic black and white movies, from time to time. Also, the symphony orchestra performs in the larger theater. Beautiful classical concerts (reasonably priced tickets too). If you go here for a Saturday/Sunday matinee show be sure to sit away from the blue-haired crowd. These senior citizens can get very, very chatty and oftentimes loud (during the movie too). We are not interested in hearing about your knee or hip replacement surgery -- we dont care! I dont know what is more annoying -- a bunch of seniors who cannot be quiet or people who text throughout the entire movie! This theatre is located in charming downtown Park Ridge just off Touhy and Northwest Highway. It is also walking distance to the Metra train station. There is a FREE parking lot which you can enter off of Northwest Highway or a side street behind the theater (or even the side street by the Starbucks and across the street from Panera Bread). This parking lot fills up quickly. However, if it is full, you can park for FREE at the Metra parking spots (on weekends only). The staff is always friendly (usually college kids or high school seniors selling tickets, popcorn, candy and refreshments). We enjoy going here for several reasons (1) It is inexpensive (2) there is ample FREE parking nearby (3) it is very easy to reach via the Metra, (4) there are many really good restaurant selections nearby (5) popcorn is always fresh (6) the washroom is always clean. My review is based on going here more than 20 times.

If I wasnt already a FM fan, theyd never see my $ again. They had almost NO candy available...on a Saturday afternoon...on Memorial Day weekend! The girl seemed to be grudgingly helpful and lacked a bit of professionalism. She sighed long and loud-annoyed teenager style-when another couple came in after us, even though we were standing right in front of her and could clearly see and hear her reaction. I acknowledge that it was closing time, but get over yourself. Its not like I just asked you to cook me a greasy burger on your nice clean flattop which youll now have to clean again. She was quick to rat out her manager for forgetting to place the candy order, and did so in a belittling way, which reflects poorly upon the company and is why I feel she lacks professionalism. Weve been to a few different stores and have ordered online numerous times, so we are fans of FM, but not this location. FM, if youre reading this, this girl and her manager are costing you $$$!

I went here about a week ago, but before that I had tried to see a movie there about a month before. I am sitting for two young children, who I took with me. When I walked up to the main entrance of the pickwick, I thought it might be closed. BECAUSE THERE ARE NO SIGNS AT THE MAIN ENTRANCE which explain that there are back theatres. I admit that the stress of making sure the kids were following me may have caused me to miss the sign that pointed to the other theatres, but still!!!! There should be signs at the front entrance!!! Even the next time I went, which was about a week ago, I followed the sign which pointed to the back theaters, then entered the courtyard, AND SERIOUSLY??? No more signs, I could find the doors to the actual theatre!! Turns out that you have to take a right then a left, where you then see a small set of doors. But why is this place so obscure and difficult to find????? Just why??

I just recently went to the Pickwick Theater to see the movie Jack Reacher. When I walked through the doors, I was greeted by friendly workers and the smell of delicious popcorn that I could not resist. After purchasing my ticket for five bucks, I bought some delicious popcorn and headed to my seat. The movie was entertaining, the sound and picture quality were great, and the seats were comfortable beyond belief. As I was leaving, a worker gave me a friendly farewell and I was on my way. I will definitely be back and can’t wait to see another movie here. Overall, it was a really special experience and I recommend this theater to anyone who likes seeing a good movie in a quality theatre. I would also like to compliment the staff for being so friendly and helpful and making me feel welcome.

The Pickwick is my go to theater! The historical decor makes my movie going experiences more special than just your average trip to any old AMC. The pricing is extremely reasonably, especially if you compare the prices of tickets and concessions to other theaters in the area. The employees are genuinely friendly and all seem to enjoy working there! I asked an usher for directions to a good place to eat and he readily listed off two or three places and couldnt have been more helpful! I love seeing movies here and supporting my local community!

Unfortunately, there were disrespectful, obnoxious teenagers in the theater tonight. They were talking loud and, walking in front of the screen and, sticking there hands up while the movie was playing. Complained to the front desk; they talked to them and, let them remain in theater and, the teenagers were acting out worse. Concerned that there was not an adult on the premises to take control of the issue. When leaving the same teenagers were harassing us as we left the theater.

Ive been going to the Pickwick Theatre ever since I can remember and I wouldnt have it any other way. They have the best and freshest popcorn around and the employees are astoundingly friendly. I went to the Star Wars: Rogue One premiere a couple weeks ago and had the best time. Even thought there were hundreds of people, the employees were able to bring the concession line down quickly and there was plenty of seating because the front theatre holds over 900. Cant wait to go back!

Ive grown up going to see movies at the Pickwick and my experiences have always been memorable. Amazingly the Pickwick always seems to get the best and newest movies in town. From the delicious popcorn to the wide range of candy, the food options are phenomenal. The new seats they just put in are so comfortable and make the experience that much more enjoyable. If your looking for a place to catch a flick for the low price of $5 during the day, the Pickwick is the place to go.
