This place was the only thing on the to-do list when my party first arrived in St. Louis. The building and location are very nice and clean, and not the typical warehouse-type building you normally see for escape rooms. The staff was one of the friendliest, helpful, and entertaining that Ive ever come across. My party (two of us) did the DaVincis Workshop room and it was very well put together. It wasnt all about art or inventions like I was expecting, and the puzzles were really fun to work through. It did seem a little linear towards the middle, to the point where it felt like a big group would have people not doing anything at certain times because there was only one thing to work on. We were able to escape the room with about 12 minutes remaining and only using one clue (which we almost didnt need...ugh!). After the obligatory picture, we got to sign the wall with the other thousands of names written all over them, which was pretty cool that we hadnt seen before. If returning to the St. Charles location, they recommended the Diamond Heist, and the St. Louis location they recommended The Castle and Creepy Lair. The next time we come back to St. Louis, these rooms will definitely be at the top of our list.

We have done many escape rooms in different cities and countries...and this one was sort of disappointing. By far the worst one we have done. We did the Davinci Room with 5 people and it was way too easy and only took us 30 minutes to escape. There are no real activities to do in this room, or objects to look through...just a series of number puzzles to solve and locks to unlock. We are used to rooms where a door is opened and you pass into a secret/second/third room....and this one did not have any of that. It was only one small, sparsely filled room. Definitely do not do this one with children (its way too boring for them and there is nothing to search for) or anyone who has ever done an escape room before...its just too easy. Ideally we would put 3 or 4 people in the room...definitely not 8. There are not enough simultaneous puzzles to solve...it pretty much goes sequentially and only 2 or 3 people can work on something at the same time while the rest are just standing around waiting. We expressed our disappointment to the staff and they just told us that we figured things out faster than other people. Which is fair. By paying $180 for 30 minutes is not very satisfying...

I have done other room escapes, but this one has been my favorite by far. My family and I did the Da Vinci room and we competed guys against girls. Guys got out first but girls got out as well. It was a tricky room but manageable in the time given. Other room escapes I have done had distractor clues all over which was very frustrating to find we were working hard to figure out a clue that wasnt needed at all. Everything in this room was apart of solving the puzzle which was much more rewarding. It was fun, clean, and challenging. 10/10 recommend!

I did Mastermind on Friday. And "Escape the room STL" on Saturday. Wow what a difference. Masterminds staff was professional. Everything worked in the room. It was really fun. The next day I decided to try the other company. Boy that was a mistake. The other companys gamemaster couldnt hear us. Their props didnt work correctly. It was very hot in the room. I might have enjoyed it had I not already had an awesome experience with Masterminds LOL. This company does it right.

I have been to a few escape rooms. By far mastermind has been the best of them. I enjoyed how we were given multiple puzzles at once to solve, unlike other escape rooms that require one puzzle at a time. The room was very unique and a blast to figure out. Our game master gave instructions for the room that did not give anything away, but helped us understand the room. Our party had a great time. We discussed it all the way home. We cant wait to do another room here.

Ive honestly came into this thinking it wasnt going to be that much fun and the puzzles were going to be super hard, but I was wrong. The games were challenging, but not challenging enough to make you ball up and cry. I honestly thought I wasnt going to contribute much and sit around while everyone else did something, but that wasnt the case. I felt like these games are a very good team building and critical thinking exercise. I would definitely play one again!

Spoke to Dorothy who booked the DaVinci room for us over the phone. We drove 30 minutes to get there only to be told upon arrival that they were understaffed and we would not be able to play our room. Our evening was ruined, and we didnt even receive an apology. Weve played over 40 escape rooms in 8 different states, and we have never been turned away for a booked room before. This was an EXTREMELY unprofessional and unacceptable way to treat customers.

Oh my god. I had the best time ever. To "get out" you must solve puzzle after puzzle. Solving a first puzzle often gives you a clue on how to solve the next. Sometimes youll solve a puzzle and get a number which just opens another padlock that gets you another puzzle. I know it sounds silly buts its a blast. The objective is to escape in under 1 hour. I put get out in quotes because of fire code they cant actually lock you in. Go youll love it.

Really really excellent experience at Mastermind! Weve played 10 different escape rooms at 4 different companies, including every Mastermind room, and these are the best. The staff is excited about what they do, and they are constantly re-evaluating and tweaking their puzzles. Fun riddles that are faithful to the theme, and decent production value. Both the Electric Chair and Da Vincis Workshop are challenging, engaging, and fun.

I loved this place. Youd think as an adult this place would be childish but the puzzles are well put together and sometimes difficult. The staff is very friendly and willing to give you a hint of you need. But remember more than three hints and you no longer have a legit escape. Way better when you try to solve the puzzles without hints.

I had a really good time at this escape room. The room (electric chair) was challenging, but possible within the time limit. We were given a variety of puzzles which definitely kept the game interesting. I would recommend this location for all kinds of groups, I will hopefully be coming back to try the other rooms offered!

Best staff ever and the Elf Room was really great too! The staff was enthusiastic and helpful and made sure we were having a great time. The room itself was well done and kept our entire group engaged as we worked our way through all the challenges. I would recommend this as a great family or group activity.

Fantastic stop in the St. Charles area! The staff is incredibly friendly, and my friends and I had a blast playing the Electric Chair room. The room was challenging, but our game master did a great job of keeping things fun and enjoyable. Would highly recommend checking this place out for yourself!
