State Fair: Admission is reasonable. Food prices are what youd expect at a fair. We went on Friday morning and we were there just as the gate opened. Lots of vendor stalls were just opening and since we were there only ones really in there, we were attacked by every vendor selling something. Lots of assorted stalls selling house remodeling stuff, wallets, food, resister to win... We went outside. We went through the different exhibit buildings. The petting zoo, you can buy a cup of grains for a couple bucks to feed the animals. Theres horse stalls most are gentile enough and let you pet them. We grabbed some lunch, like I said, a bit pricey, but not more than what I was expecting. Look for about $10-15 a person for lunch. We also had to get a funnel cake which was good. We did not do any rides. Overall its a good fair, lots of exhibits, animals, games and vendors. I spent about$100 for my wife and I, but she likes to try a little of everything.

While I had a blast at the Sir Mix-a-Lot concert on NYE, the experience could have been a lot better. I was disappointed to discover that they were only serving beer (Im not a fan of cheap beer) unless you bought a (somewhat expensive) VIP ticket. I mean, no wine or champagne in Washington wine country on NYE?? Cmon! Secondly, we had to choose between a table and a better view and standing on our feet (for a 5 hour long show) or sitting in the bleachers. Would it have been such a hassle to place a few stools in the back? Maybe Im not seeing the whole picture, and I did have a fantastic time, but Im thinking twice about coming back next year. Also, outdoor heaters while we were waiting in line to get in during subfreezing temps would have been a plus. Or, you know, you could have let us in the building and gated off inside the dome. Just putting that out there.

the handicap section is a disgrace to the people with mobility problems. I went to the journey concert and the music was great however the handicap section is located on the ground floor slightly elevated with horrendous traffic in front of you and the stage is blocked by a staircase and people traveling up and down the stairs. There is only spot for about five chairs and the people that assist the person with a disability was required to sit behind the person they were with. They need to make some serious changes because is not fair to charge full price and be put in a poor vantage spot that you cannot dictate. Tell everyone you know to have them step up and move the handicap accessibility area to somewhere that is visible to the event.

The state fair is extremely over price for admission, parking & food. Why cant we have one event a year that families can afford to go to without putting such a hardship on the family. I know of several families that are opting to do other things like taking their kids to Toys R Us and buying them a toy or going roller skating or to a movie instead of going to the fair. The committee sets the price for the admission into the fair, parking and the food. For example; you cant sell corn dogs for under $8.00 or pop for under $2.00 and so on. Cut out the entertainment and lower the prices. Whats going to happen in the end is that the fair committee is going to eventually price themselves right out of business.

Went to the race last weekend. The race was fun to watch my complaints are with the concession stand. On the way in I was told I couldnt bring my water bottle in and that I would need to purchase water from concessions. The problem is I wont drink water from a plastic container. The concession stand had no food yet they advertise that they do. If you want beer and licorice your in the right place but anything else well they dont have it and you cant bring your own snack. If your not going to let me bring snacks atleast make them available to me.

This review is for the state fair room at the sundome. Its one of the few indoor venues in Yakima that can accommodate 300+ people. Its a great room that is reasonable to rent out. The room is nice and had a beautiful fireplace. There is also a small stage that can also be used as a head table. The staff has was friendly and parking is plentiful! Overall this is a good spot!

Went to the Columbia River Circuit Rodeo Finals here in November 2014. The building is primarily designed for basketball but it was set up for rodeo competition. Not a bad seat in the house which is great. The staff are also very friendly.
