I have bowled here several times and find it really frustrating. The lanes are way too oily-- I play on a regular basis and I can say that I bowl my worst on these lanes. It is really difficult to throw with precision on such slick lanes. At any other place in town I can usually get through almost an entire game before needing to wipe down my ball, but here I have to clean the oil off my ball every couple of frames. Sometimes the oil coating is so thick that it leaves huge globs of grease on my ball. There are some good things about this place: the staff is friendly and service is quick. The food served is better than average for a bowling alley, and they have a pretty good selection of microbrews on tap. If you join one of their house leagues you can get discounts on games, food and merch from the pro shop. The pro shop is great, the staff is knowledgeable and super helpful. There are lot of things I actually like about Kingpins, but unfortunately the most important thing-- the actual bowling lanes-- can be very frustrating for someone who is serious about bowling and improving their game.

The pizza was pretty good but they put it on one of those stands and sure enough Grandma flipped it onto the floor within minutes. To their credit they did give another one for free. The reason for the two stars is the guy Jimmy behind the bowling counter seemed rude and was only willing to give my girl a lane in the tap room. I went in there and three or four older guys drinking were already commenting and talking to them. She is 8 years old. I went to get my $30 refund asap. The nerve of this guy. When getting the refund he seemed to have an attitude and could care less about my experience. There were a dozen lanes in front of us but he said they were reserved for a tournament. An hor later the lanes are still empty! We probably wont be back anytime soon.

The place was gutted and redone and is very nice. Many lanes and an arcade with prizes and a private area near the tap room. The pro shop is about the best around and the service is good. As far as bowling alleys go, its among the best of a new breed that is revitalizing the sport. The only reason for the markdown of a star is that they clearly have to pay for the space by charging more than just about anywhere else. Its not the cheapest time out there.

The bowling is great here. Slightly pricey but well worth it. There is also an arcade which is nice for kids. The tap house restaurant is not great however. The bartender was also our waiter. He was polite but they need more staff. Our appetizer and main food came out at the same time and they were both cold because it took so long for it to get brought to the table. The food wasnt exactly what we ordered and it took forever to get drink refills.

Amazing to see a modern bowling alley in an age where most seem to be dying out. Everything is remodeled! With that considered, the price for bowling is very modest and same for the food. Also so many beers on tap! When youre done bowling they have a killer arcade towards the back, and while most of the games are very pricey ($1.00 to 4) theyre all really sleek and new looking. Would be great for parties.

I love the remodel! It smells new when you walk in. The arcade is great for toddlers and kids. The staff are very friendly, helpful and clean. Im definitely going to bring my child here to burn off energy. Great family atmosphere. Only negative is the food servings. Its overpriced, i recommend bringing snacks or your own food for kids, 2 strips and a child size handful of fries shouldnt be over $10.

KingPins is another of those bowling allies that needed to be updated and did so. Looks great, feels great, but still questioning the "New" tap house food service. Still fells like a greasy bowling ally kitchen to me trying to do other things. The arcade section is a nice addition, but there isnt much there to promote it like Big Als would. All in all, another fun place to take your family.

I am disappointed that there are so many tvs here. We went bowling as a family and it was hard to focus on the game and the family because the tvs were so distracting. The bowling alley was clean and freshly remodeled, the staff was friendly, and they served good beer. We would probably bowl here often for some family fun if they didnt have so many tvs, I dont think that we will go back.

This place has done a complete 180 from what it used to be. KingPins is an awesome place to take the family to have hours fun bowling and/or playing in the arcade. Its also got a full bar& kitchen so adults can enjoy a drink or beer &kids can get sodas while eating some delicious food from the kitchen. I have been here many times& plan on returning many more times.

Best thing to happen in Southeast Portland! The remodel looks amazing, food was delicious, staff was excellent, and the atmosphere was perfect! Great place for both kids and adults. We bowled in the Tap Room and I can say our whole group had a great time! We will definitely be going back!! Kudos to the new owners!

This is a great place to bowl with updated amenities. They offer video games, a full bar, bar type food and private lanes for groups. The air smells toxic due to the chemicals associated with the materials so for me staying in this environment was tough as Im sensitive to environmental toxins.

The place looks great! The kids bowl free thing is more complicated than it needs to be. They email you a link everyday and you have to use your smart phone to check the kids in. What if you dont have a smart phone? Also, the food is over priced for the portion size, but still tasty.

So much fun for the kids and adults! Food wasnt overpriced and service was stellar. I had brought a Groupon and some how I hit my redeem button before I could show it to the front desk. Showed my email confirmation and was given my session. The guy helping was so awesome

Omg I must say that my all around experience here was absolutely amazing.the customer service was outstanding,none like Ive ever experienced b4 and Im not just saying that.the food was delicious and I highly recommend this place to anyone seeking lanes.

Awesome bowling alley, arcade, bar, and food. Has some pretty good deals and discounts if you join the rewards club or if you go during a certain day or time when they have specials. Great place for the family, fun and entertainment for all ages :)

I love this place, I get to see my friends and throw a few balls with my girlfriend. The atmosphere is vibrant and the score boards are nice and clear, and Id recommend the milkshake chocolate strawberry mix. Its not just for pinheads anymore!
