We went to this theater several times when it was owned by Kerasotes. It was bought out by AMC last year. We went there to watch a movie on a Monday at about 2 p.m. When we went to pay, they tried to charge us double the price that was displayed on their sign (right above their head). They refused to give us the price displayed on the screen. They said they had a small sign (a little 8 by 11 piece of paper) that only said it was a "holiday week." The sign said nothing about holiday pricing nor the big display screen with the different prices. They not only upset us but the 20+ people in line that also were about to be charged double. We left along with about 10 other people that were behind us in line. We will never go back to a place that uses this bait and switch advertising.

The movie cost me and my 8 year old boy $19. Popcorn and soda cost us $15.97 and ABSOLUTELY NO REFILLS unless youre a "stubs member" which means you gotta receive spam emails left and right. Any other theatre ive ever been to refills arent only free but encouraged. The staff at AMC is made up of great honest high schoolers and They are the only reason for the 4 star review. I lost my wallet and they returned it to me with nothing missing. 4 stars for the staff none for the establishment

As much as I dislike the high prices a movie just isnt a movie without the popcorn and drinks. Prices are just part of what we have to deal with. The experience is expensive but we all know that there is that "Oh I gotta see that one!" movie. I really like the staff at this location and appreciate the cleanliness. I also like the Coke machine. Great variety and most important you dont have to wait for staff to get a refill.

Very nice seating, screen and sound. HOWEVER ! For 2 people we spent : $40 for gift certificates, $ 22 to see the movie, and $23 , for 2 SMALL SODAS AND ONE LARGE POPCORN. (got a free SMALL popcorn for buying gift cards , only good for certain time and it Expires!) COME ON PEOPLE! IT IS POPCORN !! AND small size at that. Social Security folks cant afford a movie ! Sad!

The theater is one of the best I have been in. I dont mind paying a little more for tickets for a nicer atmosphere but the cost of concessions is out of control. There is no way that I will buy any there. It is cheaper to go out to eat at a decent restaurant after the movie. Would be 5 out of 5 if the concession prices were lower.

I loved the place, I thought it was very clean every one there was nice and polite. Ya the concessions might b a little high but who cares. Everyone who is complaining about how high the prices are maybe u should find somewhere else to go cuz that means your a cheap bastard and u dont want to pay for great quality and service

I dont understand all of the negative reviews. There isnt one theater that Ive been to that doesnt charge an arm and a leg for candy. Bring your own! This place is very clean and hardly anyone around when I visit (weekdays 12-4). I drive an extra 20 minutes to this theater specifically in order to avoid the Janesville theater.

Theater is in a safe location. Restrooms are clean and bright, seats are comfortable, floors are clean, not sticky. Sound is good and screen is perfect. Employees, from ticket people to concessions are polite and helpful. I have never had a rude employee at this theater.

The theater smelt like old popcorn. The seats were dirty (appeared to have a film of dirt on all of the arm rests). They clearly do not clean between each movie. The movie itself and the sound were good. Wont revisit this theater until they take more care in cleanliness.

I would give it 5 stars if the concessions werent so damn expensive. 6.50 for a large drink? What the hell!!!!!! And if youre gonna charge so much for popcorn (Close to 7 bucks) at least bring back the flavored popcorn shakers, that made it somewhat worth it.

Theater has good projection, quality sound, and a staff that know how to make sure the film is shown correctly. The theater is always clean and usually handles crowds well. This is my theater of choice in the Rockford area, even if others are closer.

Its a overpriced normal theater. Food and popcorn are priced just like every other place. 90% of staff are young. Drinks are free refill so get the small. Large popcorn is free refills. But the hotdogs are not free refills. Seats are ahh to sit in.

Saw Beauty and the Beast - FABULOUS but a bit loud for a small room & I have diminished hearing. Prices for popcorn, soda, nachos ridiculous!! Popcorn & a soda doubles the price of your ticket. Also not the easiest place to find & get to.

My best friend and I went in the past week to go see The Women In Black 2. Yes it cost $10.27 thats only because we went at 10:40 pm to go see see it before it came out the next day. and both popcorn and pop for us cost $9.78.

The place is always clean, staff are great and its never as jammed packed as Showplace 16. The concession prices are completely outrages, but that comes with the territory. The theatre is in a great location, as well.

I like the theater but the seats have gotten filthy, filthy, filthy over the years. The armrests are turning black and are greasy and smelly. It was distracting from the movie to be in such a dirty environment.

The theater was cool at the beginning of the movie, but I was sweating by the end of the movie. There were only about 20 people in the theater. Granted, it was 94 degrees outside. Thats no excuse.

Please bring Bollywood (Hindi) Movies, you wont regret the revenue. There is huge Asian community l around Rockford area. Lots of people travel to Barrington to watch Bollywood movies. Thanks.

No senior or matinee discounts like Karasotes use to have. So.....Ive cut WAY back on going because in a month or so, I can watch it on PPV for 5.00. Dear AMC, I can wait the month or so. :o)

I was amused that the HUGE parking lot was virtually empty both times I visited Showplace 14 in August. The building still looks and feels like new, and the movie experience was fantastic.

Our favorite movie theater, the seats are nice and spacey and it has an inviting feel to it. We go here over other places in the area, the prices are the same but better than the rest.
