I used to work at the theater and I will say the quality has dramaticly decreased. Ever since Marcus theaters has bought out the theater, they have changed everything for the worst. One of the big thing are the MVP/Loyalty cards, DO NOT GET ONE, your points that you earn under Wherneburg will NOT transfer over, meaning that free combo #1 you have can never be used, and the Marcus loyalty program does not offer anything nice in particular, one of the rewards are free refills on sodas, which mean nothing for this location seeing that you already can get free refills without need the Marcus MVP card, at the time this review comes out, the transition has started so do not waste you time getting one. Reason #2 to take your family somewhere else to see a movie is that the new GM does not car about employee benfits. He has taken raises away from the people that have worked there longer and hard then a lot of the newer staff and has given them to the new employees that do not show initiative to working, meaning he gives them to the people that come in late every single shift and the people that just dont do there job, along with that, he verbally harasse some of the staff, if you dont give out enough of the mvp cars during a shift, he will make you feel bad about yourself and name call you, but he calls it sarcasm (which its not), not to mention he threatens to fire you over little things like hotdogs, back then, if we didnt have enough hotdogs on the grill, we would have to microwave them, he will threaten to fire you if he sees you doing that. Reason #3 is that the quality of food and the quality of the cleaning staff is terrible. In order to cut for payroll, the GM will send way too many people home, causing people in other departments to close multiple areas, and being one of those people having to close, in order to go home before 2am, you have to clean swiftly, as for cleaning, the GM will tell the scheduling manager to only schedule the bare minimum, so on Tuesdays, during our $5 tuesday deal, there is only 1 persom cleaning mutliple theaters with 50 to 60 plus people in said theater, causing them to go behind schedule, and sometimes you have to take people from concessions to get the cleaning done on time, which of course is not good for the quality of concessions but the big thing as to why you should go to a different theater is that the GM only cares about MVPS, soo much to the point that we almost failed our heath inspection, the first day they came in they said that if we didnt get our stuff cleaned by the time the came back, they would close down the theater to clean it. So yeah, this is my reasoning as to why you should not wasted your time going to this theater. At one point in time this was a wonderful place to work but now, its not worth it, people would go here knowing the prices would be higher than everywhere else but theres not point to spend your money on a place that does care about its employees and the people that visit it

This was my first time back to the Bloomington IL location since the new ownership, I have to say I wasnt overly impressed. First, I know they have no control over what Google post about their movie times, but as I stood in line I overheard 3 others have the same issues as I did... the movie times posted on Google were not the movie times listed when we got there. From our phones we thought we were on Wehrenberg Theaters website as Google shows the link to be the correct website. The truth is it was still Googles times. Now what Google had posted is what time the movie actually started without the previews, the times the theatre posts in the box office are the times the previews started. I guess if you are not worried about seating, go by what time Google has listed. The young lady in the box office was only doing her job, and I am sure she has to go over this daily multiple times but I dont need to be talked down to, and that was the tone she was getring with us. I understand you have no control over what Google posts but Fandago had the same times listed as Google. This issue in itself was not the reason for my 3 star rating. The concession staff is not very efficient nor were they listening. I watch the lady in front of me tell them more than once butter on the kids popcorn and they still gave it to her without. He was helpful with me though so maybe he is new, but most movie goers want to get their snacks and get to their movie and you need a well trained staff for that. Once in the theatre my foot stuck to the floor in front of my seat. Yes I could have moved but I sat there for a reason. I frequent another Bloomington theatre and am not disappointed there. Yes food is more expensive there, but for the most part it is better too... the floors have always been clean when I have been there. Maybe I have been "spoiled " by the other theatre but I like it and the people much better. I know this post might sound pety, but I feel my experience today was not a good one, it was mediocre at best. Saving grace for Wehrenberg is that today was $5 movies and I got a free popcorn so I dont feel like I am out a lot... but my medium drink (slushy) was 3 times what the same drink would cost me at a fast food restaurant or a C-store, that is still crazy!

Went to a movie tonight, 12-4-15. My fiance and I have gone to wehrenberg before without issue. Tonight, after watching a late movie, ending before midnight, we went to play a game of air hockey, knowing that a later showing of our movie was still playing. We asked the employees for change, thereby letting them know of our intentions to play a game. Midway into our air hockey game a manager comes by to tell us that he was shutting the games off in 5 minutes. After a couple minutes our game was shut off and we are left wondering what weve done to deserve such discourteousy. And, as weve both worked service jobs in the past, we understand the insignificance of our presense there. We arent dirtying dishes, were not holding back anyone from cleaning anything. Were playing one single game that we payed for, after spending over 30 dollars on tickets and concession items and during a period of time that movies are still being played. We feel very discouraged and disappointed.

When this theater opened, almost ten years ago, it was the nicest theater in town. Its nice that the seats recline, and movie-goers have plenty of room. However, the theater has not been updated in any way since it opened. The recent opening of the "iMax" screen is a joke. It looks like they took the ole "mega screen" and pinched it at the corners to give it a slight curve. The picture quality is questionable, and the sound is ALWAYS too loud. Additionally, quality of popcorn and other snacks has been on a steady decrease for the past several years. Prices, on the other hand, seem to be going up. $5.00 for a small drink seems atrocious. Going to this theater, regardless of the night of the week, you are nearly guaranteed to be the only group in that particular theater... there are clear reasons for that. There are better choices in this town. An update, and new management is desperately needed.
