I promise, I wish I could leave a negative star. My first, and last, experience with this particular AMC theater (and probably all AMC theaters until they make it right). I went to this theater on 11/11/16 for a particular movie; 12:30 pm showing of Kevin Harts "What Now?" How about the movie didnt start until 1pm. No, I dont mean the previews caused the delay, the movie itself didnt start until 1 pm. You can set your watch by movie start times. Several people had to leave the theater to inquire as to what was going on, a staff member came in to extend her regrets, we told her to have the manager come on and that he should Bring in free passes for our inconvenience. She came back and told us that he would come in after he fixed the movie. The General Manager, Dante Wade, never came in to apologize for the inconvenience. At all. After the movie I located him to let him know that we were waiting for him to come in and apologize/earn back our business and he said he was busy. Ok, honestly there werent more than about 30 or so people there and Im being generous. He said he planned to catch us after the movie, but got busy again. He said he could offer us free popcorn and a free drink. I declined. There wasnt a bug in my drink, I was inconvenienced by the movie not starting on time. He said that he couldnt. Which is untrue as Ive gotten passed from an AMC before due to a movie freezing in the middle of the show. I asked for the general managers number, he said he was the general manager. I then asked for the regional manager and he told me he couldnt give out his boss number. I asked form an email address and was told that it would just be routed back to him for him to give me a call and all hed offer was the popcorn. I asked the. Value of the sofa and the popcorn and it was about $12. Our tickets were $8.50. I didnt understand. He wasnt remorseful at all. He didnt even care. I asked for the email address any way, he told me he had to get it from upstairs. I told him Id wait. He walked from Behind the counter and walked around for a little bit only to come back to tell Me he couldnt get into the office because the door was locked. His manager had the key. He told me if I gave him my smart phone he would pull up AMCs website and direct me to the place to type in a form email. I proceeded to tell him how terrible of a Manager I thought he was and that I would not be giving him my cell phone. I told him I was leaving a negative review all over the Internet and my social media. He told me that was fine. I told him that I wouldnt be seeing any movies at AMC anymore, And I would be encouraging my friends not to patronize AMC any more either. Worst movie theater experience EVER! Terrible customer service from their General MANAGER, Dante Wade.

Basically, me and my friend saw 1-2 rats but heres the full story if you feel like reading: Ive only been to this movie theater twice. The first time I went to this theater with my friends I had an average fun time without a problem: enjoyed the movie and ehhhhhed the food. However the second and the latest time I went to the theater, trying to watch Paper Towns in Stadium 8, there was just me and one friend. Checking to see if anyone else was there, my friend walks down the steps from where we settled and finds a little furry ball.... moving. She flashed her flashlight on her phone to jet back up the steps in panic. She thinks she saw a rat. Holding our feet up trying to hurry and finish the movie, 10 minutes later, I drop my phone and flash my friends flashlight to find the same or another rat no more that 2 feet away from me. Me and my friend, Destiny, begin to run upon the folding chairs and jet down them steps. We told an employee who advises us to call or ride and after, tells the manager. The manager hands us each a signed "emergency ticket" saying come back anytime for any movie free. Our ride appears and after giving us a refund, the manager asks for our "emergency tickets" back. We give them back hoping for something back for the inconvenience but then the manager says "Here, weve given you what we owe you; a refund". The employees seemed totally against it but cannot argue against their boss. This cheapo Mr. Krabs had made up his mind so we left to later write a review. He states that we didnt get anything for the inconvenience because we had barely watched the movie and barely stayed in the theater to have time to be considered wasted. I rate this theater 2 stars. P.S. their food is bootleg and make their "sliders" in the microwave for 30 seconds but takes 3 minutes to be presented... bootleeeeeeeeeeeeeg P.P.S their ICEEs be 2/3 full, dat cup is too big

I originally had been coming here for years while in high school and this was pretty much the local spot with cheap movie tickets and you knew what you were getting for the price. I also remember choosing this theater over the old one that was located around the corner, which was also an AMC (long time ago..). But fast forward a few years and now that AMC is back and has taken over Academy 8, it is a huge change. I could not recognize the location. Everything is much cleaner and organized and upgraded. It is very comparable to other upgraded AMCs. The only downside so far is that they dont have the check in with your phone yet or the automatic ticket counters. Additionally, the new seats are still a little hard but they just need to be broken into. However, they are much smaller than your standard AMC seats like the one in Powdermill, but regardless still a great location. I did find it interesting that the next theatre over you could hear the overpowering base in the theater room we were located in, so the walls are still a bit thin but the sound systems and the pictures are very clear and HD-like. Overall, great spot to go to for sure and the ticket prices are still great!

Great prices and not a bad theater! However, I went on a Friday and requested Hearing Assisted Technology. They only offered assisted listening headphones (no captioning), which would have been fine, but the employee indicated that the batteries were dead and would be replaced over the weekend. I went back on the following Tuesday to see the movie and the employee said that the headphones still weren’t working. I would love to attend this movie theater more often, but they should make it more of a priority to accommodate those who are deaf and/or hard of hearing.
